I found a Groupon and figured, "what the hell?" This location has seen at least 3 different restaurants in as many years: Vietnamese, Mexican, and now - Indian. I must say that I am a sucker for hole in the wall ethnic restaurants, and this place blew my mind! To my knowledge theres no Indian restaurants outside of south Minneapolis. So, in order to get my Indian fix wed often drive to The Himalayan Restaurant or Dancing Ganesha. This is on par, if not slightly better than both those restaurants and a quarter of the drive (from Farmington). We enjoyed a pleasant appetizer, and both ordered the Tikka Masala mine with Chicken and my wifes with lamb, as well as an order of garlic naan. The tikka masala was very rich, creamy with cuts of pepper and ginger mixed in with large chunks of chicken off the kabob! Wow! Was this good! The naan was some of the best weve had, airy and made perfect! Love. this. place. A disclaimer: we were the only ones eating at this restaurant for about a half hour before the next two customers came in, on a week night at 6pm. This is truly a hidden gem that definitely needs to promote and get their name out! I highly recommend!

Great location, clean and inviting atmosphere, friendly service, reasonable prices, and most of all-- delicious food! The chicken was cooked to perfection, and we tried the spinach whole wheat paratha for the first time and loved it! I would recommend the chicken Tikka Masala; it was so good! This was our first Indian restaurant weve visited since we moved to Minnesota from Georgia, and this restaurant tastes better than many other Indian restaurants weve eaten at in the past. The quality of food rivals our favorite Indian go-to spot in Georgia, but the prices were nearly half! I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Indian food, or is looking for something different to eat. We will definitely be going back, but next time to check out their $10 lunch buffet!

I used Door Dash to have some food delivered, and most of the food wasnt delivered. I had to call and see what was going on. They sounded very disorganized and had troubles understanding me. The chicken tikka didnt have any sauce with it. This is supposed to be a yogurt sauce, but it was very dry. Someone put so much lentil soup in the container that I couldnt open it without a lot of it spilling out. All over me, and the couch. The samosas were good. Do not order this food for delivery. Be in the restaurant so that you can have your order corrected. Also be aware as to how big the portions are. The entrees seem quite small, and lack liquid.

I ordered Dal, Samosa and onion Naan all veggie. The Naan was OK but seemed a little under cooked inside. The Somasas were great.Dal was also just OK, and the rice was also very nice. The Only not great thing was the price of $22.Indian food is supposed to be cheap nothing to fancy especially when it all veggies. It took me two days to decide to eat there due to cost.In the end the food was probably only worth half of that price at best.So far the south metro area has two Indian restaurants and both are well over priced. Not too sure Ill go to either again.

A very pleasant surprise Stopped here because of those mail coupons which I forgot or threw away, but at least it brought the place to my attention. The curry was very spicy but the heat died nice and fast so it was very enjoyable leaving a very pleasing creamy taste. The spice blend was spot on, and my wife who generally doesnt love Indian food was very happy and said would be happy to return soon. And my 2 year old hoarded so much naan I had to order 3 servings.

Traditional Indian fare for a reasonable price; the restaurant is in a strip mall corner, yet quite spacious with multiple booths and tables. This is a fine place for a romantic casual meal or for dinner with the family. The staff is friendly and eager to please. The menu provides a good explanation of the dishes, for first timers, and the spice level of each dish can be custom made for those with a Devils tounge. Great food and experience overall.

Darbar is my favorite Indian restaurant in MN. We used to drive all the way from Apple Valley to Uptown for takeout, but now we dont have to drive very far to get excellent Indian. Their Apple Valley location has even better food, and even has dosas and pani puris. The dal makhani was brilliant and rich, and their chicken vindaloo is my favorite. Sure, their interior could use a little less overhead lighting, but the food is fantastic!

Food is not authentic indian, Its mostly like American-Indian targeted for American customers. I ordered Extra spicy and they mixed american chilli sauce to make it spicy. Ordered Chicken, Beef biriyani (They dont have my favorite mutton) and Tandoori chicken, Biriyani tasted OK but it was some other dish that they named biriyani. Quantity was too less compared to other restaurants, Tandoori had just 4 pieces..

For dinner we started with the Vegetable Samosa and then had their Shahi Paneer and their Chicken Makhani as our main course. The food was amazing and I very much enjoyed the level of spice that came out when I asked for Spicy (the middle level of the Spiciness scale for them). We will definitely be exploring more of the menu next time we go probably by trying out their lunch buffet and eating way too much.

We catered for our family event based on the good reviews the restaurant had but we were very disappointed with the food. We got alu gobi and the potatoes and cauli were raw and was tasteless. My guests hated it. The chicken appetizer we ordered had no salt and looked nothing special. Samosa and paneer tikka was good. Really disappointed. Just make sure you taste them before you order from here.

We let our friends from out of town pick a place for dinner and they chose Darbar. What a great choice! Their bread basket is amazing, get the paneer naan, basically a stuffed cheese bread. Their curries were also excellent. My husband was excited to see goat as an offering. It dinner on this Monday night was so great that we decided to come back for take out that following Friday. Delicious!

If you have been disappointed by another Indian restaurant in the past, then this place us a MUST! Everything I had was done to perfection. Right down to the nann and the rice. You can tell by the descriptions in the menu that you are in the right place. Id say the hours here are not up to date. (fyi) Just ate there for the first time, though google maps says theyre closed. Happy Dining

The food here ids FANTASTIC. They have a nice selection of dishes from around India, the quality is truly something worth writing about. I will say that the service was a bit on the slow side, though this is a braves new establishment and there are bound to be some kinks to work out. The staff is warm and friendly, and three is something on the menu for everyone.

This place was amazingly delicious! My best friend and I left happily with our tummys full. I ordered the Paneer tikka masala, and it became one of my favorite dishes! Had a lot of flavor but not too spicy, we also had a Gula Jamun dessert which was soo good as well. I definitely recommend checking out this gem of a restaurant. 5 stars from me :)
