I was pleased with the quality of the food. Im in Jackson TN and ordered takeout for a party of 7 adults. When placing my order over the phone I explained that everyone in my party was either a desi (i.e. of Indian origin) or very closely familiar and well accustomed to Indian food. Therefore I requested them to prepare our food accordingly, (i.e. very spicy) which they did. My friends and I think the Indian food from this restaurant is good. Everyone really enjoyed the food that we ordered, which was the following: Garlic Nans with cilantro added to it, Chicken Tika Masala w/ gravy, Butter Chicken w/gravy, and Chicken Biryani. We also ordered the Tandoori Chicken which was garnished nicely and appropriately with onions and lemons. They also added 2 or 3 thin slices of cucumber and carrot to it, which all was nicely balanced and definitely complemented the tandoori chicken. They also generously provided us separately on the side mango pickle chutney, white rice, plain nans, and more nicely sliced raw onions and lemons. I think with any kind of food, such seemingly small things actually matter a lot and especially with Indian food. Hence when making and preparing Indian cuisine, I think details matter a lot and make a big difference in the overall experience, quality, and enjoyment. Again, I and the people in my party were all very pleased with our food from this restaurant. Therefore if your in the Memphis area I recommend trying this Mayuri restaurant as the food is good and also reasonably priced.

I still dont understand how this restaurant is still in business. Their food does not have any taste, it looks like food but they serve something weird, I cant explain the flavor. Never ever go to this restaurant, but if somehow you ended up in emergency here try to get something cheaper so that you dont leave feeling bankrupt. I had been going to many indian restaurants in this area and was in the impression that Bharat restaurant in Memphis is the worst, but I have to Admit that MAYURI is on the TOP of the LIST TO AVOID. We just had two buffet and ended up paying around 50 bucks, I felt like crying!! WHY OH WHY DID I COME HERE.. I could have just ordered pizza at home and would have slept happy. On the brighter side we do have restaurants like Taj Mahal and Curry Bowl to count on for good food, although I am not so much happy with their quantity and price, but still atleast I dont feel like a victim after eating their food.

Worst Butter Chicken I have ever had. My niece and I went to the buffet, and the only good thing was the Aloo Fry. I dont see why people eat here to be honest. Every other Indian restaurant Ive eaten at (and do I love some Indian food) has been 10 times better as far as taste goes. The staff was very attentive, which is why I dont understand why we had to wait at the cash register for 5 minutes while the guy gossips. Then he walks over, no smile, no "Hi" or "You enjoy your stay?". If you dont want to be there, then quit. Only good thing besides the Aloo Fry is that the indian customers were very nice, and helped us through some of the dishes we werent familiar with. Literally a whole group of people got up from their meal, and explained the dishes to us, and when to eat what (I grabbed the rice pudding dish on my first go......oops, didnt know it was meant for dessert). Customers were more helpful than the staff.

I think they offer the most authentic Indian (esp South) cuisine in Memphis (key word is "in Memphis"). Their south indian non-veg dishes are pretty good (esp biriyani) and dosas, idlies, upma, vada etc. are great. I usually go there on weekends for the buffet and its fresh ... havent been there on weekdays. The service is not their hallmark, I think its good and gets better once youve been there couple of times (Ive never had absolutely delightful service in a Chinese restrnt where the food was really good, I guess its one of the paradoxes of authentic ethnic restaurants). Compared to India place and Bombay place I would recommend this place, if you prefer a more authentic offering. India palace does have a better ambience and slightly better service.

Mayuri is reserved for special birthdays because it is a long way from work, but I have never been disappointed by a trip there. A southern Indian restaurant, Mayuri began in the old Admiral Benbow Inn on Union Avenue in Midtown Memphis. When they moved many miles out east to their current location it meant a lot fewer lunches there for me. No matter how many times I go, the buffet is excellent. All the dishes are wonderful, especially the curries. But especially good are the relishes that are available, the mint and the Carrot/pepper. The carrot pepper sauce may be one of the hottest sauces that still adds flavor that I have ever eaten. The peppers will make your face sweat but will not linger like jalapeno. Love!

BADDEST EXPERIENCE (SERVERS ONLY) worst experience ever, the food was not bad though. The servers were very rude and they made us feel like we owe them something. Everything was served late and when asked them about it they responded very rude and ignorantly. They asked our bill back after we paid as they didnt add the gratuity on it , latter on kept on peeking on the receipt when i was writing the tip. no water no plates not responding If your charging so much on a dish then we expect equally good service very UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE ever seen

Me and girlfriend came to Mayuri for dinner. The place has a chill vibe with very chill Indian music. The staff is quiet but dont let them fool you. They are always paying attention and bring that pitcher with water as soon as they see your glass half empty. The food is great. It is really spicy and it had me sweating but its delicious. Its rather large for an Indian buffet. No bugs, really good spot, probably a diamond in the rough for Memphis restaurants. No , Im not associated with these folks, but I give credit where it is due

This restaurant has very narrow selection of decent food. The rest is simply bland and doesnt resemble authentic Indian Food. For example, the mysore masala dosa, is anything but that. The sambhar is simply reflavored daal, and the dosa stuffing of potatoes doesnt have much flavor. Have tried their Buffet also and came out disappointed. Customer service is another thing where this restaurant loses big points. The cashier actually argued out loud with me in front of other customers over something I pointed out to him.

I have eaten at every Indian restaurant in town and Mayuri (in my opinion) is the best one around. We honestly go almost every single weekend to have the buffet for dinner. We have also tried regular menu items as well. The food is always hot and well prepared on the buffet and I love that they are constantly switching the items out every buffet. Dont forget to grab a cup of the Chai to left of the buffet ! Would recommend this place 10/10 times.

Adequate. The food at Mayuri is adequate but not great. The buffet is good, but Ala Cart is overpriced and never as good as the food on the buffet. Too bad they only serve the dinner buffet on certain nights. Service is sporadic. They are always quick to fill your water glass, but not so fast to fill your soft drink glass. THAT cost them money. The decor is very shabby. The entire restaurant could use a major face lift.
