Rose Wong is one of the most generous souls I have encountered on this planet. The food is literally the best Chinese food I have ever eaten in the Northeast Ohio area. The Crusted Pork, Shrimp Fried Rice, General Tso Crispy Chicken stir fries, Hoisin BBQ Ribs, and Egg rolls are my absolute favorite. I highly recommend this restaurant for family gatherings, business meetings, or just a general dinner setting. They have a great Vegetarian menu and the appetizers are equally awe inspiring. The bar has an excellent selection of fine cognac and a wide range of other house drinks, liquors, wines, champagnes, beers, and also virgin cocktails!

my husband & went out for valentines day to the pearl of the orient. we were seated at 5:45 pm. we waited and waited for our server and no one came. after 15 mins we still were not served. it was not like they were busy, there were only 2 other tables being served. we got up to walk out and they had the nerve to ask us to pay when we never ate. they didnt even care. so we went to the pepperment cafe and the was service was excellent. we were waited on within 2 mins. food was wonderful. dont go to the pearl of the orient now i know why they were empty on valentines day

The food is fresh, made-to-order, flavorful and plentiful. I go there at least once a week with my wife and we love it. All the servers know us by name, theyre fast, and great at giving suggestions for trying new dishes. My favorites are the Crusted Pork in Hoisin BBQ sauce and, of course, the peking duck. My wife is a vegetarian and is in love with the Almond Honey Tofu special, which I tried and thought was great. Cant wait to go back and try their new dim sum specials on the menu.

Recently relocated across the street into bright and beautifully decorated new space. The sizzling rice soup for two is a great date night treat that literally sizzles. Meat, chicken and chunky veggies in a lightly salted broth. The Asian style tacos are tasty but very salty. The 8-jewel chicken is loaded with exotic mushrooms and bright crisp veggies. One tip: if you like your food spicy, request the sesame oil condiment. A few drops will add some needed heat to your dish.

Egg roll smelled liked something rotten! Hot and sour soup was certainly not fresh! Although I said Im allergic to pineapples the mandrien chicken had pineapple inside! Lo Mien + shrimp had no tastes at all! I wonder how is it possible to add so many spices and get no tastes! Pad Thai was not fresh but acceptable. Ive paid $66 box for 3 meals then Ive got 2 pairs chopsticks and 2 fortune cookies! So no service either! I wonder why this restaurant has 4* rating on reviews!

While the prices may be slightly higher than some of the tiny take out joints around town, the quality of the food more than offsets this. You can tell they use top quality meats and veggies. It shows it the taste. Their new location is beautiful and most of their wonderful wait staff has been there for longer than Ive been in the city (17 years). Its simply the best quality Asian food on this side of town. Highly recommended and a family favorite.

What a transformation. Just across the street from original location. Great staff. Majority stayed on. Food very good. New food selections. And still offer original dishes on new menu. bar service with seating. Smaller space than previous location. Catering service available. Food an drink specials offered weekdays and weekends. A spot to definitely check out. Locals will not be disappointed. Shaker Heights OH.

i sat at the bar and had a small 3 coarse dinner during the weekend happy hour (7-10) for under $20 including tip and a beer not on the happy hour list, the bartender Dolan was super friendly and attentive and made sure me and everyone else at the bar never went without. i fealt like everyone knew me, and was happy and full when i was finished. i wish more bars had food this affordable in an upscale building

Pearl of the Orient is my favorite Chinese restaurant. As a west-sider I make it a point to frequent them. Dishes that are well worth the drive are: Almond Honey Chicken ( tender pieces of white meat chicken in light honey sauce on a bed of peapods) Crusted Pork in Hoisen sauce is also delicious. I would highly recommend making the drive to the Pearl. I have never been disappointed.

We were in Cleveland for the weekend and came to Pearl of the Orient after checking out the menu on their website at the hotel. Im glad we did because we found a 10% off coupon there! I ordered a potsticker sampler and orange chicken and my boyfriend got an onion pancake and kung pao chicken. Both were delicious and Im getting hungry all over again just thinking about it!

my husband and I are visiting in the Shaker Heights area and got take out from the Pearl. The servings were huge but not particularly flavorful, bland actually, even though we had ordered them to be prepared spicy. A few hours later we both had what could be politely referred to as "Asian Revenge" style gastric reprocussions. Wouldnt recommend.

Sleeker and shinier in its new incarnation (the old "Pearl" was located across the street in the now demolished Van Aken Plaza), they have maintained their commitment to creating excellent dishes served by a courteous and efficient staff. Ive already visited the new Pearl a half dozen times since it reopened, and it has never failed to satisfy!

Traveled about 40 minutes from the southwest suburbs and were not disappointed! The atmosphere was really great, the food was delicious and the portions were generous. I think the prices were really good for the quality and portion sizes of the food. Service was very friendly. Would definitely stop by again if in the area.

One thing I will say about Pearl - they use quality ingredients. If you order chicken skewers, theyre real strips of boneless skinless chicken breast, not unknown pieces and parts which I find at almost all chinese restaurants. Theyve been around a LONG time with two locations for a reason...theyre consistently good.

Despite the few bad reviews I see on here, Id like everyone to know that Pearl has ALWAYS been good. Great food, great service, great location (old & new)! I go there all the time. The staff is amazing! Great prices & the quality of the food is very good!

I have eaten here several times throughout the course of a few years, both the old and new location. The old location seemed to have better food and selection. Very disappointed in the food at the new location. Was not hot and not very tasty.

It was ok. Our spring rolls were a bit late. When they arrived the waiter didnt bring any dishes we had to ask for them. When I asked for hot sauce, what I got was something sweet instead. Overall the food was good.

Big succulent shrimp in shrimp fried rice. I havent found a better SFR in Cleveland (trust me I tried), so I am forced to travel quite a distance for this great food. Great service and good value for your money.
