This was my second time at Gorkha Palace but my first time ordering from the menu and not the buffet. I was blown away by the flavorful lamb vindaloo I ordered. The meat was so tender; Ive rarely had any lamb like that! And the sauce, flavored "medium" (which is how I always order things when Ive not had them at a specific restaurant, before), was nicely hot enough to make me sweat just a tiny bit. I could have gone hotter but I didnt need to: this was so savory I wouldnt want to lose anything by making it spicier! :) The thing that blew me away, though, was the garlic naan I ordered on the side. Ive never had naan this good; and it was very different from the chewy varieties I usually see in other Indian/Nepalese restaurants. It was puffy with little scorch marks around the edges (like the type you get with particularly good pizza doughs in a hot, brick oven). It was incredibly light and was actually perfumed with the perfect amount of garlic. With each bite, not only did I get fantastic flavor but my nose was treated to that subtle garlic aroma. Seriously: this was the best garlic naan Ive ever had! The restaurant, itself, is charming and warm. The paintings on the wall are mostly landscapes and really quite lovely. I arrived just after they opened at 11 in the morning and did not wait for seating. It was a very relaxed meal: I recommend going here when you have time to savor it! The waitress on duty was a wonderful woman who shared with me a story about her young childhood in Nepal. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. Nepalese/Indian/Tibetan cuisine is not something Ive had very often. Indian (as broad as such a varied cuisine like that can be) is my primary base of comparison. With the Nepalese and Tibetan influences, its simply amazing. Ill definitely be returning and you should, too!

The food was delicious and the staff was friendly. Im not a huge fan of this kind of food, but this place did it well. The naan (flat bread) was very good and a dish I would describe as "Indian fajitas", because thats exactly what it was, was also tasty. The mo-mo, as they are called, were delicious. The bean soup was bland and not particularly good. My only gripe with this place is the price. I understand that these dishes are specialties, but as I stated before, my dish was essentially fajitas with the only difference being the seasoning and marinade used on the chicken. If I had been at one of the wonderful mexican places closer to where I live, I could have gotten twice the amount of food for $4 less than what I paid for this. And I would have gotten chips and salsa for free. And I would have had a monstrously large margarita. And I wouldnt have been surrounded by the type of people who spend all of dinner trading stories of how wonderful John Stewart and Steven Colbert were on TV last week. In the end, its always good to try something new. I think it was good, but I wont be running out to find more. To be honest this whole style of cooking is just bland to me. This might be an unpopular opinion right now, but there it is.

The food and spices are absolutely incredible. You can smell the the aroma of cumin and cardamom from outside before walking in. The service was outstanding. We are gluten free and primarily vegan and they were very accommodating. Every dish had flavor thats was complex and magical. The food was unlike any Indian/Tibetan food I have ever had. The food was made with pure passion and you can taste it in every bite. Incredible dining experience and will be back soon!! We had the veggie pakora which was breaded in almost a tempura like batter. The channa saag in which the chickpeas were perfectly tender and the spice was amazing. We also had the veggie Biryani which I would equate to Indian fried rice. It was smokey and delicious. We also had coconut rice with cardamom powder lightly sprinkled as a desert complements of the chef and it was the perfect way to end the night. Cant say enough good things.

One word: Momo. Tasty fresh made dumplings with chutney. Try them all: veggie, turkey, and bison. So delish! Gorkha is our go-to place for great food and great service. Gorkha will please everyone at your table. The vegetarian, meat lover, vegan, or anyone who wants mild to spicy Indian/Tibetan cuisine. My current favorite is Navratan Korma--a veggie dish with cashews, raisins, carrots, beans, cauliflower, cheese, and what other 9 gems am I forgetting? My son always orders the coconut chicken. My husband always gets the lamb vindaloo. The service is always attentive and awesome. Free parking spots in the lot out front can be found. Theres a bar, if you cant wait for a table during the super busy times. Hive the lunchtime buffet a try! Bite Squad also delivers. #lovelovelove

This place was so good!! I went for dinner, so can only speak for their dinner menu. Everything we had was so flavorful, and the service was also very good. The lamb korma, which was on special, was my favorite, but the chicken masala was also fantastic. The garlic naan was incredible. We also had momos (the sampler platter) which were good, but not overly amazing in my opinion. The lentil soup came with one of the dishes, but I was not a fan. We also got a dish that resembled fajitas (grilled chicken with grilled veggies), and it was delicious! My only complaint is that they dont have fountain soft drinks. I will have to come back for their lunch buffet, which I have heard is also great. Overall, would highly recommend this place!

I met a friend here for the lunch buffet on her recommendation, and it was excellent! The Vegetable Curry was fantastic; the lamb in the Lamb Curry with Peas was tender and tasty; the Naan Bread was hot and soft and crispy in all the right places. There were other things I am not familiar with that I tried and cant remember the name of, but everything I put into my mouth was as delicious as the last. The restaurant seems small at first, but the decor is beautiful without being stifling. The waitstaff was attentive and polite. The music was not too loud to drown out conversation at my table, but just loud enough to drown out other conversations around us. Definitely 5 out of 5 stars if you enjoy authentic Indian cuisine.

Wonderful service and great food! The attention to detail especially in regards to Gluten Free options was probably the best I have ever experienced. What a pleasure to have nearly every option on the menu be GF. It is an interesting change of pace to see the couple items listed that are NOT GF as opposed to the usual token couple of items here and there. Additionally, the extra attention to being environmentally friendly was very cool. While everyone lately at least goes through the motions of being green, you can tell that they really take it to heart and mean it. Composting the food waste, hand towels in the bathroom... Even the pen to sign the check was made of recycled material. Well be back! And soon!

Soooooo goood. I love this place. The food is amazing. If i got everything i thought looked great on the menu, id get one of everything. The stuff i have tried has all been delicious. Service at this place is excellent as well. I like my good to be very hot and spicy and always choose the "hot" option, but to me even the hot was closer to what i would expect medium to taste. That is just me, though, and i think most people would find the spicy levels perfect. The meat is so juicy and tender and the sauces are so flavorful, make sure to get some of their awesome naan to scoop up every drop. :)
