We ate at this establishment a few days before Christmas. The person I was with ordered the goat dish. Throughout the meal he found bones in the goat. Different sized bones. Small and large. He found it to be very unappealing. My dish was rather bland. At the end of the meal the person I was with told the server that the goat dish was full of bones and hard to eat. Her comment? Oh, I tell customers to order the lamb (shew was not the original server). I decided to take my food home, despite bland quality. I asked for it to go. We waited for some time. Nobody took the food to wrap. I asked again. A few minutes later I asked again. The server walked past and threw tiny plastic tub on the table. It was so small. I live in the Boston area and there are many really good ethnic restaurants/ Maybe there are fewer in the St Paul area and they can get by with this quality of food and careless attitude toward the customers. While visiting again I will avoid this place.

Food is unique and delicious. Ive never Tibetan-Nepalese food before. Its similar to Indian food but you can certainly tell the difference. I loved the "hot sauce". It was flavorful, spicy, and it builds.. so the more you eat the hotter it is, or you can eat less. I ordered the Goat and some garlic naan but it was hard to choose. The waiter, later, told me to try the Momo and/or the Chhoyla for a more Tibetan experience. Guess Ill have to come back. Although limited, they also have private off-street parking in the back of the restaurant and have one handicap spot. Im not the most knowledgeable on this, but it looks handicap accesible (no stairs, good spacing between tables, but I didnt look at the restrooms). Enjoy!

Great Food, Terrible Service. Its really hard to write this b/c i love their food it is unique and the flavors are amazing. the lamb is always delicious. However, unfortunately the service is god awful. We waited literally over an hour for any food, the server missed our appetizer order, and did not get what I wanted or thought I ordered. There is obviously no communication between the front and back of the house management. Do not I repeat do not go to this place between 7-9 on friday night ever, you will be waiting forever for your food. No one checks on you , almost no one speaks good enough english, no one is around to help, terrible terrible terrible service but great food.

I love this place. It is my favorite restaurant on Grand, and perhaps my favorite restaurant in general. Im very much an "order the same thing every time" person, and the chicken choila is divine. I split that, an order of naan, and a glass of sweet lassi with my partner and we still have leftovers at the end. (But our stomachs may have different needs from yours.) I have never had anything but kind, timely service. Just be sure to call before you go to make sure they are open. I think they close between lunch and dinner. Tiny parking lot in back, but plenty of street parking in the neighborhood behind the restaurant.

Had a chance to visit Everest on Grand for lunch buffet on Sunday. The food (vegetarian options) was average. Curries Dum Aloo, mixed beans and Broccoli tasted good but not really exotic. The quality of rice was also not so great, not sure why they dont use Basmati. The pulav (colored rice) was okay. The sweet dish Gulab Jamun (brown colored balls made of milk produce) which should be served hot, were cold! Not at all tasty... In all, it was not a great experience dining at Everest. India House, few streets down the Grand Av, offered far superior lunch buffet when we visited last weekend.

The vegetable tempura like appetizer was delicious as were all of the entrees. The breadth of vegan and non-meat entrees is fantastic. The only disappointment was the minute rice-why not serve the traditional Indian basmati rice, which is far superior in flavor and nutritional content? The atmosphere is very comfortable and casual and the service is friendly and relaxed. Wonderful experience -will try the buffet for lunch or on a weekend.

Everest is some of the best authentic food i have had in the twin cities. The food here is even better than the food in Nepal! the staff is friendly and helpful and the menu is wonderful, big enough to get a different thing every time you eat here and small enough to know that the cooks arent spreading themselves to thin. I took my wife here on our first date 4 years ago and continue to come here regularly for special occasions.

We were excited to try this place out but walked away very disappointed. The vegetarian buffet options were bland and cold. Where is the flavor? Food should be hot when you get back to the table. The staff never asked us how the food was, maybe they didnt want to know. All in all not worth the 25 dollars for a Sunday lunch. Im surprised there are so many positive reviews.

4/14/2017: I knew I scored when I walked in and smelled the spice. The lunch buffet is full of delicious selections and they change it every day. I was lucky enough to dine here when they served a really spicy Chicken Chhoyla. This is one of the few places where spicy means spicy. Everything else was only mildly spicy but still good. Great variety & great taste. Go for it.

Everest. Delicious and generous. Dont look through the windows and the inside certainly takes you to Nepal. The ambiance, decoration and even the servers. Not the best service but not the worst. They certainly try and mean well. The food, is amazing! Tastefully and the options are so versatile. Comfort. Come in hungry. Enjoy your company and the food. Worth a trip back!!

The food was decent but the service was terrible. The waitress spilled and entire bowl of curry on one of us and didnt even offer to discount the check, we had to specifically ask and even after that they tried haggling with us. I mean come on, is it to much to ask to have a $30 bill comped when your server just ruined a $40 shirt and probably a $50 pair of jeans.

We were lucky to find a parking space in their small parking lot in the back, otherwise off street parking was available. The place was packed, we were on a waiting list for about 20 mins. This was around 6pm on a weekday. Over all from all the hype we heard, the food was decent, the experience was alright. We left super full and packed plenty of left overs.

This is a good place for lunch. Their buffet offers lots of choices. There is one dish though ( I think it was goat) that is nothing but bone, it was terrible. I also usually get a stomach ache when I eat here. I think it is how they prepare their food, because Indian food doesnt normally make me sick. Over all though, it is a decent value and decent food.
