Reheated Indian Food in a less-than-charming (or vacuumed) environment. My wife and I shared the Dinner for Two meal. The salad was a plate of iceberg lettuce that was at the end of its shelf life (beggining to turn brown), with some thinly sliced tomatoes and cucumbers. The Pork Curry was not spicy at all (we asked for medium to hot), thin and bland. The plate of meat had skewer marks in each piece, but it was obviously grilled at an earlier date and somehow reheated for serving... thus, the meat was dry and tough. All of the flavors were very bland (I almost want to say "subdued" but, that would imply a conscious decision by the chef to control flavor...which is definitely not the case here). One little aside, when the waiter was going to bring the hot plate of meat out, I watched him squeeze a bunch of oil, on to the hot place, to create a loud sizzle and steam as he presented the plate. I thought it an act to increase the showmanship of the presentation. However, Im pretty sure now that it was a technique to mask the fact that nothing was freshly prepared. 5-will-get-ya-10 that there is a microwave working over time in the kitchen during service.

At the beginning of the meal we asked for recommendations since we had never been there before. The meal was ridiculously overcooked. We got a $30 plate of different meats and we were only able to eat 2 (the shrimp) of the approx. 10 cuts on the plate. When the waitress took it away she even pointed out that it was way overcooked and not supposed to be like that.. she poked it with her fingernail to test the rock hard texture of the chicken and said constantly said it was our fault for not complaining about it earlier - after we had explained we never had their food and did not know thats how they meant it to be. Several times she made comments about how bad it was cooked and they will watch more carefully next time. the bill came and it was full price. I ordered Indian tea and did not get a refill until we had paid the bill... after not eating any of the dinner for two besides the lamb curry sauce and rice. When we got home.. I was soooo sick to my stomach. I have eaten curry many times and never felt so sick to my stomach.

Wont be going back. 2/3 of the meal was extremely overcooked. Some burnt, some dry as could be. Basically most of the meal was inedible. The waitress even noticed and said its not supposed to be like that. She then brought the check and said next time theyll get it right. I was surprised they didnt offer to take anything off the $43 bill when, even at their own admittance, they messed up the food. I felt wronged and very politely asked if anything could be done about it and Im not quick to complain at restaurants. They just took $3.00 off. Very poorly handled. Very poor customer service. One dish excellent, but the other 2 inedible. If theyd handled it better and accepted their mistake properly, we may have gone back, but now we never will. So, be wary, its very hit and miss and if they completely mess up your food like they did ours, they wont make any real accommodation for it.

I had been to this restaurant on a Sunday very recently and wanted to provide my inputs here: We were a large group and restaurant provided us the party hall, so that our group could sit and enjoy the meal together. We had the lunch buffet and overall the food tasted good except for couple of items like Samosa (was too oily) and sweets (Rasmalai and Jamoon) were not upto the mark. I felt the rates were reasonable too compared to some of other Indian restaurants in Twin cities area. I would have given very good rating to our experience but we found we were charged more than what we were billed. We got this settled later and our additional money was returned back. This small bit left a bad taste. I hope the owners ensure such billing incidents to occur again. This is a good restaurant and i would visit this again.

I went to the lunch buffet and found long black hair in the Samosas. The manager had the nerve to tell me it must be my hair (my hair is red) One of the chicken dishes tasted funny, like re-heated, dried-out sort of funny. The booth we were seated at was broken and threatened to collapse, so we asked for another booth. I wont and havent been back since. It might have been different if the manager handled things better. I was very upset considering i have been coming here for years. The food is good, but now Im questioning what i have really been eating!

My boyfriend and I love this place! The food is always delicious, the buffet is a great deal and the servers always seem welcoming and friendly. The music is usually corny, rarely authentic indian music, but the place is great. You can customize what you like as far as heat/spicy-ness goes. It makes me laugh every time I say "hot" and they smile then ask me "minnesota hot or india hot" and get an even bigger smile when I say "india hot." I love this place. They take pride in their food and enjoy sharing it.

I recenlty visited this restaurant and was very disappointed. My entree was majorly oversalty. The waitress area was near my table the there was loud bickering between the Waitresses all thru my meal. It was susposed to be a lamb dish but it was mainly tofu. Because of the saltyness I wasnt even sure if there was lamb or pork in the dish based on the meat texture. Not a good experience.

The different flavors, it was just hypnotizing for both my wife and I. We are actually going tonight again. If you eat a buffet not to gorge yourself, but for the flavors and to try different things, please try this place, and dont be fooled by how its kind of hidden and the building does not look great from the outside...you will thank me...its just wonderful.

My girlfriend and I frequent this restaurant and have really enjoyed our experiences. Their samosas are fantastic, and the mint sauce is superb. I enjoy the Chicken Josh, extra spicy, with garlic naan. Its always hot, and the service is good. The only annoyance is if you get there between lunch and dinner when they close shop for about an hour.

Best Indian Restaurant My wife and I tried this restaurant for something different and now we love their food. We have tried other Indian restaurants but this is the best. We had Palak Panner and chicken Makhani with Naan Bread, it was sooo good. The service is top notch always there to clear your table and fill your glasses with water.

We stopped in on a whim for lunch on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised to find it was a buffet 7 days a week! Everything I had was delicious and I didnt have to ask for refills or the bill. Staff was friendly and courteous. Building is a little outdated but other than that We were very pleased and will be back again.

I have lived in Maplewood for about 5 years and only recently ordered take-out from this restaurant, and Im so upset that I waited so long. The food is delicious, and the staff was so nice and respectful. You can smell the deliciousness before you even walk in the door. I will definitely be back.
