Went here for the first time on Saturday. Not to be missed. Have been long waiting for an Indian restaurant in the Lyn-Lake area, and Emperor of India was well worth the wait. Decor is simplistic, with white cloth and red cloth napkins. They have a wonderful lunch buffet that seems quite the bargain, given the high quality food. On Saturday, I had the veggie samosas - perfect, lovely flavor, perfect crust. Also - we both enjoyed a glass of white wine - a wonderful Chardonnay and delicious Riesling. Wine menu is limited, but was amazed by the quality - and quite the bargain at six bucks a glass. I enjoyed something called Alu Baggan - egg plant and potatoes. This is a vegetarians paradise, by the way. Tasty and fresh. I was pleased with everything, including the breads they make on site in their tandoori. We enjoyed one made of chick pea flour and caraway seeds with the best chutney I have ever tasted. Whoever is in the kitchen knows what they are doing. Please check this place out. The staff is eager to please and with seasoning, will be wonderful. It was a little warm inside, so please dont hesitate to suggest that they open up those wonderful windows. Cannot recommend this place enough!

5/31/2017: Buffets are tough to get right but but they do it right here. Vegetables are often squishy at buffets but theyre done perfectly at the Emperor with very good flavors. The spice levels are what youd expect (mild) so you wont get blown away and you get a big basket of naan which is perfectly done. Flavors are legit and service is fantastic. 5/30/2017: Take out was freshly & quickly prepared w/ very nicely blended flavors. Portion sizes were on the large side. I noticed they have a lunch buffet at 11:30 on weekdays. I really hope they can make it in this location as others have been unsuccessful.

The lunch buffet was phenomenal! I came in on a recommendation of a friend, and Im excited to tell more people about this place. The palak paneer was outstanding, tandoori chicken was perfectly tender, and the mango lassi was very delicious. The location is awesome and the service was great-- the co-owner Farhana was very charming. The price was great for the amount of high quality food I managed to eat too. Cant wait to come back!

The food was not up to par for a new restaurant. The service was okay. I updated the review on the reasons: 1)Tandoori chicken - not properly cooked. 2) Chicken biryani - Worst. Oily with some hard rice and the chicken pieces were the worst. 3) Vegetable biryani - again oily but edible. 4) Naan - It was good. 5)Mango Lassi tasted like mixture of artificial flavor and yogurt Safe to say I will not be returning again.

Really good buffet! My wife and I went for the first time today. There were 12 hot selections, each prepared in not-too-huge batches, which means they are probably kept fresher than at other buffets. I tried almost everything, and it was all delicious! The hostess was very polite and attentive and the restaurant was very clean. Were fairly new to the area, so its nice to have found a go-to Indian spot!

Just been there once so far. The food was good, actually tasted like it was cooked in the sauce and not just poured over already cooked meat. We had the medium hot, which was just right for us to get that heat, without overpowering the flavor. Will definitely be back, welcome to the neighborhood.

What a great find. The food was wonderful with authentic flavors; I loved the lamb curry and the samosas. The owner was so gracious and you can tell she takes great pride in what they do. The wine list was quite sparce, but she said they are working on it. Cant wait to go back.

I still cant forget those yummy garlic naans! And that perfectly spiced beef curry along with reshmi chicken..yummo!! my next goal is to go try their lunch buffet that I heard was awesome from my friends who visited! I loved the surrounding area as well! Recommend highly!!

Wonderful food from a great new spot. Got the Dinner for Two. Perfect amount at a very reasonable price -- including dessert! We even had enough for some leftovers later. Very hopeful lots of people will discover this new, delicious gem in the Lyn Lake neighborhood.

Just stopped in for a quick lunch. Buffet-to-go for $11 with plenty of naan. Options were somewhat limited but I made a point to get a bit of everything and it was all very good. Polite service. Couldnt have asked for more! Dont know why it wasnt more busy.

I got their garlic chicken through bite squad delivery. It was so delicious and fresh! I loved it. Quite honestly the best Indian food I have ever had, and I have had a lot of Indian food!!! Also the price was very fair for the big proportions you get!

After a long awaited buffet visit, I can conclusively say that the food here is awesome. Buffet has a nice mix of dishes - several chicken, a goat, paneer and other vegetarian. Great price, great food! Visit this place and support local businesses.

Enjoyed the takeout food from here. I ordered the vegetarian Chana Masala and vegetarian samosas. Nice portions, and overall delicious. Clean atmosphere, and nice individuals running the restaurant. I definitely recommend giving EOI a try!

Decided to give this place a try and Im so glad I did! The food was amazing - had a Naan basket and the table shared a few dishes. The mushroom marsala was the best Ive had. The service was friendly, prompt and overall great.
