We just had dinner here. We have been going here at least a decade. It has always be consistently wonderful. Today we came in and the place had yet to be crowded with dinner crowd. We were seated and served. We orders drinks and dinner. My salad arrived and I started to eat it. I found a fly in it. I called the waitress over and let her know. I said I dont want another salad as that kind of ruined for me but wanted to have rest of my dinner. Summer in Texas, it happens. But, what most surprised me was no apology from upper management. I was not looking for a comp but I had expected at least a visit to the table. We had ordered an appetizer too. Next thing our entree was delivered but she had forgot the appetizer. This is not the Tavernas I have known. I started to eat but at this point the dinner experience was shot. When she asked me for a to go box I told her I was disappointed that nobody had approached table and that she had forgotten the appetizer. She said do you want me to approach the manager again? I said so he knows and did not come to apologize. We proceed to get out check and she did go again to him. He finally approached and said he was sorry but he had gone to the chef and the chef said there was no fly when it left the kitchen. He offered to comp us a dessert. I had hardly touched my meal and did not want dessert. I explained I wanted no comp but had at the very least expected to have been approached to apologize. I expected at very least after finding a fly and not being upset our waitress would have made sure the rest of the meal was perfect. But what we had was leadership making excuses that there was no fly when it left the kitchen. I am sorry to say we will not go back. I am really disappointed. The fly I could have lived with but the lack of care and attention to customer i cannot.

If i could give it negative stars i would. Thats how much of a horrible experience we had. We went their on new years eve, so yes i can understand the crowd and waiting time. But none of that was the issue. First of all we were seated in make believe setting very close to the door , and of course it was freezing. But again understandable, its a business and they would do anything in a high traffic days such as new years eve. But we had a roach on our table and our table was right beside the pizza oven, and if anyone know anything about roaches, its never just one.Im sure Tarrant county public health department would that amusing too. The waitress was really apologetic and nice. But the arrogant manager on the other hand was making up excuses and did not utter a word of apology Nor did he offer to waive our bill. And when i told him i dont need another plate, he took our plates and stormed off to clear our table for the next unfortunate guest. Also me and my boy friend got the feeling that this is a place that only favors their regulars of a particular race. I believe this place has no sense of customer service, mainly the manger; the valet driver and our waitress were very welcoming. About the food, it lacked flavor. we ordered salmon and veggy pizza both of which was undercooked and lacked any kind of flavor. I think restaurants like this whose managers are so arrogant and unwelcoming to new customers should understand that people would always remember the once horrible experience they had and would make sure this doesnt happen to their friends or anyone who might hint at visit Taverna in Fort Worth.

My husband, my best friend and I went for dinner yesterday (Sunday). Food was terrible and service was worse. Our waitress and other wait staff kept removing plates from our table. I literally said Im not done with that 6 times. 1 - We ordered fancy bread, at her recommendation. I was eating bread and the waitress tried to take my appetizer plate. I said I wasnt done with it and she pointed up, I followed her pointing to see a man coming with my dinner plate, to look back down and my bread plate was gone. I had bread in my hand still. There was plenty of room for me to have both plates. 2 - We ordered bruchetta. A lady picked it up and man handled it before asking if we still wanted it -- it still had food on it, and we again had plenty of room on the table for it. 3 - We had to ask 4 times for them to not clear the plate with bread on it, as my husband was still eating. Again, bread in his hand & chewing, she asked if she could have his dinner plate and he finally resigned and she stacked it onto the plate with bread THAT HE WAS STILL EATING. They also cleared a wine glass with wine in it. and the food was no better. Almost gross. Gnocchi was cooked to the point it was mush, like a baked potato; like you would get at a Dickies BBQ joint. They had lots of empty tables and plenty of dishes stacked in eye sight in the kitchen, so I cant help but conclude that they must have just wanted us to leave. No worries, we did, and we wont be back.

Stopped in for an early, light birthday dinner on a Thursday evening. The waitress was prompt and attentive and everything was paced properly. My husband and I split the Antipasto Emiliano, a nice selection and presentation of meats, cheeses, and olives. It was more than enough for both of us since we were sharing our entree, and would be just right for up to four people. For dinner we split the Margherita pizza, and still brought some home. Nice thin crust, good char on the bottom. Not quite to VPN specifications, but better than most pizza Ive had at Italian restaurants that are not specifically pizza joints. The manager, Massimo, came over to ask about the meal while we were waiting on our check, and we had a lovely conversation with him. (He is from Rome, so he has a beautiful Italian accent). It ended with my getting a complimentary Tiramisu for my birthday, complete with a sparkler candle (and no singing!). I usually dont care for Tiramisu, but this was delicious. It was not a gargantuan portion, but still plenty for the two of us to share. The nice atmosphere, good food and service, and personal attention we received from Massimo mean we will definitely be returning.

Food, service, atmosphere was more than expected. Went with a party of 10. I was not expecting much from the food or service since we were going in an hour before closing on a Sunday night (friend called to make sure it was okay for us to do this before we came since we are a larger group). Started off with a delicious very fresh salad that had the perfect amount of yummy vinaigrette. I had 3 plates of this salad - the tomatoes, onions, parmesan, vinaigrette, and fresh greens was so good - and I was starving lol. All of us enjoyed our meals ranging from pasta to pizza. Cooked and seasoned well, fair prices, nice portions. The chef is awesome... food was definitely special. We ended our meal with tiramisu, creme brulee, and nutella cheese cake. All were great but loved the creme brulee. The manager/owner and chef greeted us near the end of our meal - both were so warm, friendly, and kind. It was one of the most pleasant dinners I have had in a while at a restaurant - because of the service and food. Our servers also always had our drinks filled without us asking and were friendly. I would recommend this restaurant and would come back again!
