Worst experience at a kid restaurant ever! This is the new Naperville location. Im all for attentive service but this was too much. Every server in the place came by 3 times. At one point, it was every minute. I couldnt even eat my meal in peace. My wife took the bun off my kids burger and 3 separate times a server tried to take it from us, each time we told them that we were going to eat it. At one point, the manager stated that if we were not to eat it he wanted to reuse a good bun. I did not find it funny in the least. The last visit to our table that took the cake was by the manager or owner, an older man with gray hair. He started out the conversation by telling me I was "busted" for telling the server we frequent All Aboard train restaurant. He asked for a comparison so I was honest, I told him that they have way more kid friendly activities, such as the train bench that allows kids to press buttons to activate the trains. He then says that it is filled with "infectious diseases" and proceeds to bash All Aboard. He even went as far as stating that the restaurant is "closing" because of the strip mall it is in. (Totally not true) He also told me that 2Toots restaurant was more for "adults" not kids. To top it off the menu was horrible, like 3 choices and the burger was dry. Stay far away from the Naperville location. I would recommend All Aboard in Downers Grove. Good menu, good food, lots of options, servers are normal and way more options for kids to stay entertained during the entire visit. Oh and no free train whistle for the kids when they visit.

If I could give this review 0 stars I would. This is the second time we have come to this location and the second time we have been completely disappointed...dont worry a third mistake will not happen! The first time we were here we found out that out server was actually one of the owners. Would have never guessed that since she seemed completely lost and frazzled. I had ordered a chicken sandwich with no tomato but asked for some cheese on it. I was taking my daughter to the bathroom when the food came and my chicken had tomato on it and no cheese. The owner asked my wife to take the tomato off before I got back, but either way it still wasnt right. Couldnt belive that an owner would say such a thing when they made the mistake! This time was just about as bad. Still horrible service that was slow. While we were sitting there starting to get our food ready with ketchup and mustard, the floor manager decided that was the best time to take those bottles away from us to top them off. Couldnt you have waited till we finished and left? The staff kept congregating in a corner talking with each other and not paying attention to the customers. Five times they all walked past looking at my empty drink, so I had to finally ask for a refill. The place wasnt even busy today! There was another family that was there who had ordered some shakes and apparently a piece from what looked like the mixer broke off into their shake. Just overall piss poor service for overpriced food! As stated earlier, we will never be back at this place again!

I am surprised by the negative reviews, although I believe them, I myself have never had a bad experience at this location. Staff is always great, friendly and talkative. The food is very consistent. We havent had a bad experience with our food. We have visited this locations probably close to 40 times. Our 5 yr old loves this place. I actually dont really like to eat here, but it is simply because I dont regularly eat burgers, fries etc. The food is good, consistent and hot. Shakes are always amazing and they have pretty great coffee compared to other local diners. It is a great place to take kids and enjoy the atmosphere. I enjoy the old diner feel and my son enjoys all the trains, both inside and outside the diner. I think from my opinion that the bad reviews might have just been a fluke or an isolated incident as we have never had such a bad experience. We typically go during their slower times and always have great food/service.

Absolutely horrible service! After we complained to the front manager for their staff digging in the garbage with their hands and no gloves on, than not washing their hands and giving us our dish, we stood up and left. About 5 minutes later realizing we left our glasses behind. Upon return to pick them up we were told they didnt find any. Unfortunately for them one of the employees spoke too soon saying she passed them to the manager. This is a very short version of the event. Needless to say cops were called, they found the glasses in the garbage broken in half by the manager. You can pull the full police report on this from the Glen Ellyn Police department. Apparently we are not the only ones complaining. DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN IN HERE, it is a horrible horrible place that may result in many nightmares to follow!

Just went here and it was the worst experience ever. If you have little kids who are active and have a hard time not touching things then this is not the place to go. NOT kid friendly at all. Owner basically told me that I should stick to all aboard diner because they dont care there and this isnt a kid restaurant. (My kids were not being terrible just my 3 year old was having a hard time not touching the train which is too close to the table in the first place). And I saw other kids putting things on the track and trying to touch the train. Not happy and will not be going back. And I will stick to all aboard diner they are much better and way friendlier. If youre going to have a restaurant like this you need have patience for children and they do not here!!! This was at the Naperville location.

Took my son here for his 2nd birthday and it was great. My two kids got grilled cheese sandwiches with fries that they really enjoyed and my wife and I had hamburgers. Everything was very good. The staff was very friendly and the kids loved the train atmosphere and the food being delivered on the model train. If you have kids this is a great place to go, plus it is right by the Metra station so what we did was ride the train from Geneva to Glen Ellyn and then ate at the restaurant and rode the train back which for my two kids (2 and 4) was a great way to spend the afternoon. The only thing I would warn is to get there early because there is only so much counter space and it did get very busy after we got there.

We swung by for Fathers Day lunch because my Dad and I like trains. We werent expecting much. The service was great and food was edible, but my tomato was off, and the lettuce was wilted. Ill eat anything, and I love my veggies, but I had to pull them off. :-( My family agreed on the food quality, and were a bit disappointed. The milkshakes were great, though. Theres actually a picture in the comments of what my lettuce looked like, so this isnt the first time, apparently. Im really bummed to write this and I hope to see improvement. Its really a neat place!
