My Monday night dinner buddy and I stumbled upon KoChix, a famous Korean dive in between Bloomingdale and Shaw. Its not super Metro accessible (20 minute walk up Florida Avenue from the Noma Metro), but if youre in the area, stop by. Its a small shop with only three window seats so most people do take out. Of course, they specialize in chicken wings and three different sauces (hot honey spicy. garlic soy and one other that I forget). My buddy got the hot honey spicy and loved it. He ordered 10 and it was filling. Since I still cant get over my childhood fear of meat on the bone, I ordered the bulgogi. Out of all the bulgogi, Ive had in DC, this was the most unique. It didnt quite taste like bulgogi, but it still was very tasty. It reminded me of a cross between Korean and Chinese food. The sauce they put on the meat enhanced the flavor. All in all, I recommend Kochix especially if you like wings!

We had an absolutely incredible Korean fried chicken place in Ann Arbor, Michigan, so everything I have I compare to that. Compared to that KoChix is... okay. But then, thats actually saying quite a bit, since most places dont even compare at all. Here are words that will actually make sense to someone reading this. The chicken is big and juicy, the skin is crunchy but could be crunchier, and the spiciest sauce wins by far but is actually quite spicy. The fries are pretty good, but ask for 8 to 40 times the amount of ketchup they give or youll be regretting it. Bring your own wet naps. Finally, there is no seating here. Well thats a lie. There are two seats at a counter here. Just dont expect to eat here as there is a pretty constant stream of people coming in and out. The two of us split a 7wings3drums combo and a large fries. Plenty of food for two.

I learned an important lesson today. If a place is advertising Korean Fried Chicken, dont get anything else like the bulgogi bowl. Only get the KFC! The beef from the bulgogi bowl I had was old and should have been discarded instead of served to a customer. I was so disappointed and disgusted. The KFC was good. Its just regular fried chicken with the Korean soy garlic sauce. Nothing to make a trip over.

I lovee hole in the wall places. I placed my order through the yelp app and came straight from work. I ordered the 3 wings 2 drums, soy garlic. Delicous. Just the right sweetness and nice crunch. I parked in the gas station and ran in. So it isnt very parking accessible. But, a nice cheaper alternative to BonChon within DC.

No longer do you need to go to Annandale for Korean KFC. Definitely a worthy addition to the Rhode island corridor. Not inexpensive, but I think the price is on point if not a dollar or two greater than what would consider fast food. Although think the quality of the chicken differentiates it

We pre-ordered wings from them on for the Super bowl and they were finished on-time and delicious. The serving sizes are fair and the sauces are good. There arent many choices available in terms of sauces but the quality of Honey Spicy makes up for it.

Ive ordered wings from here recently with hot spicy and soy garlic. The wings are delicious, full of meat, and appropriately cooked. However, the spicy isnt that spicy and they ended up a bit on the sweet side. Nonetheless delicious and will do again.

Great place, wings and drumsticks are big, the sauces are great. Try the spicy honey, the kick catches up. The cheese steak was big and tasty. Try the homemade dumplings, very good. Almost no seating inside, 2 of e seats next to the window.

Enjoyed the fried chicken at Kochix. It was fantastic! The chicken was falling off the bone almost done infused with flavor. We had the spicy honey and could not put it down. Looking forward to our next visit.

Kochix is my go-to place for wings in DC. Their jumbo-sized wings are always fresh, juicy and, and covered in their addictive candy-like fried coating under their delicious honey spicy and soy garlic sauces.

Excellent! Tried it on a whim, and the wings were cooked perfectly! Crispy, tangy, just a little bit sweet and hot--this isnt your usual carry out. These folks know what they are doing! Give it a try!
