One of our favorite local BBQ joints! Typical Texas style BBQ served first come, first served. Meaning that when they run out of meat, theyre out, so dont come too late! I consider myself a TX BBQ aficionado having been to all the top places in the state from Lockhart to Llano along with Dripping Springs, Austin, Taylor, Elgin and everywhere in between. These guys do it right! My favorite proteins in order are the Ribs, Jalapeno poppers (incredible stuffed with chopped brisket, cream cheese, wrapped in bacon and then smoked!), sausage (both reg. and jap), brisket, chicken & turkey. TX BBQ is known for the brisket and although Hutchins is very good, its not my top favorite from their menu. The pork ribs are smaller in size but very lean and cooked to perfection! Im not a big "sauce" guy (I prefer the flavor from long "low and slow" smoking of the meat with a good dry rub) but Hutchins does have some of the best sauce in the state, in my humble opinion! The Frisco location has very limited days/hours so be sure to check that theyre open before you make the trip. Great sides too! Awesome "home-made" style Mac & Cheese, flat style green beans cooked with bacon, good potato salad and a really good raw broccoli salad that I always get to balance out the proteins! Oh, and dont forget the free dessert of homemade cobbler, banana pudding and soft serve ice cream to fill in whatever cracks you have left after stuffing yourself with all the great BBQ!

I grew up around great BBQ and am something of a snob about it. Generally, when someone mentions BBQ for a meal, Im not interested because most of the offerings around Dallas are mediocre to really bad. Hutchins, on the other hand, is the real deal. If I was going to rate it on a classic one to ten scale, Id give it an eleven. This is Texas BBQ approaching perfection. I havent had everything they serve, but Ive had a lot of it and it was all great. The ribs are my favorite, followed by the house made jalapeno sausage, then brisket. Oh, be sure to try the stuffed jalapenos. Dessert is free. They have soft serve ice cream, cobbler and banana pudding. The cobbler is really good, the pudding is great. If you consider yourself a BBQ fan, then Hutchins is a must and worth the drive to McKinney or Frisco. The McKinney location keeps regular business hours, the Frisco location does not. So, check to make sure theyre open. There will be a line.

To be honest, my favorite ribs and anything smoked, BBQ, whatever comes from North Carolina, with Tennessee second. Thats just personal preference. Tiny tender baby back ribs with the best sauce on the planet. Been to a lot of BBQ places in Texas, and in general I am not a fan of the Texas style. So, found two BBQ places that at least are good enough to come back to. I have been to both Hutchinson locations, and everything has a real nice smoky taste, moist, tender, and not fatty. It was my favorite place until I experienced Meshacks BBQ in Garland. The best, melt in your mouth, falling off the bone, smoky ribs. There is nowhere to sit, it is a dumpy shack, you will have a long wait, you will smell like Pecan smoke when you arrive home, and they run out of food by like noon. Is it worth it...Oh yeah baby.

In my opinion you either know how to make good brisket or you dont. Once you have reached a certain level like Hutchins has the rest is marketing and self promotion. I have eaten at some of the best in Dallas and Austin we all know who they are and Hutchins is right up there with the big name places. Truly amazing brisket but one of my favorite things they have are the jalapeno poppers. They use a small amount of sour cream and mostly brisket for the stuffing. Wrapped with some thin cut bacon, glazed and smoked to perfection. I dont know where they get the jalapenos from but they are massive. One or 2 poppers is a meal. The complementary cobbler is just an added bonus. Try it and if you dont like it then you are just not a BBQ lover!

Flies in banana pudding ! This was my second visit. The food tasted good. However I found flies in the banana pudding. I notified a waitress about it. But she ignored me.I am downgrading the rating to 3 stars. I had stomach pain after eating the potato salad( I guess). I dont know if I go there again. Original review I went there Saturday evening. There was a long line. It took about 20 mins to get to the front of line and order. I had ribs , brisket and potato salad. All of them were of real good quality and tasted awesome! Its a bit more expensive than other places I have been because everything there is a la carte and no combo meals.Banana pudding was delicious!

First, let me say the food is a solid 4 maybe even a 5. The 3 star rating is for the following: We came in on Saturday and ordered the family pack to go (almost $100). We made it all the way home and realized they left out both the BBQ sauce AND the bread/buns. I went back up to get these missed items. I asked for a small side for my trouble. They said no and did not really seem to care. By the time I got home the food was just warm and less fresh. Between taking it home, going back for the sauce/buns, and getting back home 45 minutes had passed. I guess I would have like a "sorry sir heres a free side, soda, or something."

We had the all you can eat. Portion sizes of c ouse was good seeing as it was all you could eat. The side dishes were delicious: fried okra, mac and cheese, green beans, corn, french fries and of course cant leave out the banana pudding and peach cobbler. The meats were just ok to good (depending on the one you picked) We had the moist brisket - good, burnt ends - good, ribs - ok if you like sweet ribs, spicy sausage - ok, japalino sausage - not good. For the money $20.99 for all you can eat per person I wont do this again for a long time. If the meats were better I would be back next week.

The food here is excellent! The brisket is so soft and juicy, it almost melts in your mouth. They have great selection of sides and make sure you fill up your side tray, you only pay for the side, and not the amount you grab. My favorites are the Mac and cheese, and the fried okra. But even though you want to eat so much, make sure you leave space for dessert, it is great. The only bad thing is that, you have to wait in line to get in if you arrive there after 5 pm. Try to get there a little before that and you wont have to wait. Yes, its that good! Best BBQ place in Dallas.

Guys, this barbeque will change your life. If you go during peak hours, expect a wait. But even if you end up standing in line for 30 minutes, it is WORTH IT. Incredible brisket, amazing jalapeno poppers, great pulled pork, and ribs that are off the chain. This place has it all. The best part? When you dine in, you get free peach cobbler, banana pudding, and ice cream. And even though your life has already been changed by the BBQ, it will go through another metamorphosis when you try the desserts. Not even kidding. Sidenote: dont go here if youre on a diet.
