Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT HOST PARTIES HERE! We had rented the entire restaurant for my engagement party with expected of 150 guests. They guaranteed we would have the entire place. But they lied to us TWICE!! They rented out the second space to another party at the same time as ours!! The only thing separating us was a curtain. Now this wouldve been fine if the room could fit all of my guests and if the music didnt overlap so badly! Dont have any expectations for this place, they dont give a flying f***k about you or your event nor is their customer service good. I come to find (via new friends that had siblings host events there) that they have forgotten to correctly add tables for guests or kicked the party out before their end time. These people are a joke. Seriously. I cannot believe theyre still in business. Please dont book them, theyre cheap for a reason! Pay an extra $500 and get a better hall elsewhere. I regret hosting my event here had I known this would happen.

Their food is delicious. We have driven to the other side of town for Indian food and this is just as good as the highest rated places. Tandoori is excellent, tikka excellent, give ample rice, ask for the sauces. Naan is lovely. Large portions, cheap for Indian. Breaks my heart to see it with few customers in the evening. All I can say is go! Lovely people that run this restaurant. If you are a beginner get Chicken Tikka Masala and Mutter Paneer, and Naan bread to sop up the sauce. Mmmmm. This is a creamy chicken and peas with cheese. Indian can be very spicy so go light on the spice at first unless you like heat, then go spicy. I have not been to the lunch buffet but it looks great. I-696 AND GET OFF AT HOOVER. HEAD SOUTH TO THE KROGER PLAZA ON RIGHT. The plaza isnt much to look at but this gem is there!

I wouldnt recommend this place at all. They serve day old sauces that have been used by another party. They have no intention of refilling the sauces and most of the time they water it down (especially the tamarind sauce). The server just stands there and watches us eat but doesnt come to help when we need it. Instead, the server kept coming to take our plates away when we werent even finished eating! Last time I went, we were waiting for the server to ring us up, but all he did was stand there and stare at nothing. He didnt bother taking the bill payment from our table, he didnt care as he saw us getting ready to leave. We had to walk back to the register and pay. I want to say that it was poor service, but it was really weird.

We went to the lunch buffet. It was scantily tolerable at best. The selection was bare minimal. Some over-fried fish, a beef neckbone dish, a chicken-something dish, some dried up ass garbanzos, and flavorless lentils. No sauces, no chutney, no yogurt, no deserts. The Basmati rice was SEVERELY undercooked, it was crunchy as hell. I asked about a chicken dish and I was given two different names. I also asked if it had coconut or tree nuts in it and I was told no. Well lo and behold, my daughters mouth started itching inside and out. The alleged Palak Paneer didnt have the cheese cubes, instead they put potatoes in it. This was the worst alleged Indian food Ive ever had. Very pitiful to say the least.

This is only the 2nd time Ive been here and the service and food are excellent! It would behoove any customer here thats dining in to ask for Shahran, he is young but one of the most knowledgeable, patient and courteous waiters Ive come across. I am a "foodie" and believe dining should always be an experience. However, I live near Hamtramck and have tried at least 5 other indian/Bengali/Pakistani restaurants. This ranks among the top, mainly because of the moderate pricing, portions and service. Hope they get more business though since its never really crowded or anything, also nice atmosphere for the area not as "run down" looking as some of the other places Ive been.

I highly recommend this to anyone who has never tried Indian food before! I brought 3 friends here, 1 of whom has never tasted Indian food. Royal Bengal is ideal because you can order a few options per person to try. This restaurant is the best - big portions, heavenly naan, and nothing is too spicy. My meal was fantastic - I ordered chicken curry. It is one of my favorites because its so creamy, and this curry was phenomenal! The naan is one of the best parts - a HUGE portion and you can add another to your order . Finished my excellent meal with a Mango Lassi, it was amazing. Will most definitely return, this place is doing everything right.

The food is above average. The service today however was so bad is was almost comical. I was asked if i wanted the buffet, no. Was i there for carryout? No. I was told to go to the counter & asked if i could sit & order from the menu. I had to give my order to 2 waiters. Then as my entree was being served i was told they didnt have my appetizer. I had to wait for everything due to the fact that a friend of theirs came in & i sat & waited as they socialized. Terrible service. If I return, it will be for carryout only, but there are much better options available so i doubt Ill be back.

This place is terrible.Dont host any parties here. They are very arrogant and rude. This place will be out of business in no time if they keep this up.They conduct business as if this is Bangladesh.Terrible experience with this place.Only reason I went back is because I dealt with someone else this past summer who provided excellent service, unfortunately he is no longer with this restaurant. For obvious reasons lol.You can get much better deals for the same menu at Curry Express. They actually know how to properly conduct business.

The staff here were very friendly and attentive. The flavor profile on the Marsala was amazing. I have to agree with the previous poster though the bread wasnt cooked right, another thing that wasnt cooked right was the "lamb". I say "lamb" because it tasted like beef, over cooked and very hard to chew. Half of the chicken in the Marsala was also over cooked, there was some succulent pieces of chicken though, the sauce in the Marsala was to die for, by far one of the best sauces that I have had.

Dont know what happened, but there must have been a change in the cooking staff because the food here has changed drastically. This used to be my 2nd favorite Indian restaurant, but yesterday was my last coming to this spot. Rice was clumped, palak paneer was runny and flavorless...was extremely disappointed. The time before that was just as bad, this was their second and last chance. I havent been to Curry Express yet, but Royal Indian Cuisine in Troy is the best. Dont get the two confused!

Ambiance was standard. Music was too loud n rousy for dinner. The food was too greasy and masala was too thick. I had to fish out lamb pieces. And their food gave me diarrhea and i eat spicy food. Waiter forgot my lassi. This lassi was the most watery lassi i hv ever had in any indian restaurant in US! Naan had uncooked edges. This was ala carre dinner. I m going to try buffet. I m going to try thrir buffet
