If I could give a negative 10 I would! My first time in Boston, decided to visit this place for some great soul food. Sat down at the bar. We observed two bartenders, a bearded man of a different ethnic group and woman who was very busy entertaining male customers at the end of the bar. We waited about a good 7 minutes before I began to beat on the bar. We could not be missed but we were never acknowledged. The man came over with an attitude, no Hi, Hello, Welcome nothing! He just began to pass out menus as if he was dealing cards. At this point Im ready to go. The first of our party ordered, then I began my order with a drink since we were sitting at the bar and not even been asked for drinks orders. The attitude of this man was absolutely appalling. By the time the last order was given, we all had mutually decided to leave. No food in the world was worth this type of treatment. It was as if he was doing us a favor and didnt want to be bothered. We helped him out...we left! Awful, Terrible, Horrific customer service.

jThe worst experience To start I paid $50 for 5 people to get in just to have dinner on a Fri night around 8, the food was less than ok but waitress was nice... We left the table for the bar. I ordered 5 drinks through out the night when the tab came w/ 5 extra unauthorized drinks... i asked for the manager right away, he said he needed to investigate and for me to bring him my friends receipts.. just left there after 45min of arguing my case w/ proof other people paid their own tab and no resolution to the problem also feeling bullied out of $60.. (it was a lot off people that night bartender might have confused me w/ another customer or maybe he shouldnt have been drink on the to mix customers up) I will be contactin BBB putting a claim with my credit card comp End result dont bother going and if you must bring cash

Kind of a 3.5. Depends on what food you get and when you visit. It is a 4 if you get the chicken, catfish, and other things they do really well. Got a tough, rubbery fried pork chop on my last visit, however. Service is good, the bartenders are attentive and friendly. Sometimes it is insanely loud with parties or live music and you not only cant hear your companions, you cant even chew because the teeth are rattling around in your skull. The best beer you will find here is a Sam Adams, so craft beer drinkers should go elsewhere--and they probably do. But, for the most part, it is a fun place to get a lot of comfort/soul food at a good price. You will not leave hungry and you will probably bring home lunch for the next day.

For one the food is amazing! However, we had reservation for a graduation celebration for 4 graduates and all their friends and family. However, for some reason the manager seemed did organized and moved people around from table to tables. Once they got it right the ordering of the food seemed just as organized going from people to tables and sorts. Our waitress did her best to keep things on order but it was still crazy people waiting for food longer than they should have. What was suppose to be a private event and closed to public was not. Random people came in and ordered food and drinks and look around wondering whats going on. This place have potential but needs better management!!

I usually have a good time but this past Tuesday was a night Ill never forget and I will never come back to this place because of a bartender who was very disrespectful to me. Ive been coming to Slades for many years and spend good money and tip well. This isnt the first time I heard of the same bartender being rude this is bad business and we the people shouldnt be treated like this and remember we are the ones keeping Slades open by coming out and trying to enjoy. Slades has lost business with a lot of people who use to enjoy now I will go somewhere else and never come back

Unfortunately, I cant give a zero. A Couple friends and I were looking to stop in to grab some good food and drinks. Unfortunately, we didnt make It past the front door because we encountered a very rude older gentleman. He yelled at my friend because was asking for clarification on what time the cover charge started for the night. I called the restaurant to inform them of the experience and was given excuses about how we misunderstood his tone. We ended up at Darryls and had a much more pleasant experience. Its sad that the art of customer service has been lost.

My daughter had her 39th Birthday this past December during comedy night and became part of one comedians routine. He kept commenting on the "29 year old referring to my daughter. It made her night just that more fantastic! And I thought it was hilarious considering my daughter stayed "29" for about 3 or four birthdays after she turned 30...LOL Turned out to be a perfect night, the comedians were hilarious! Thinking about going there for my 58th birthday on Comedy night next month in June.

My mother had been planning our 2015 reunion for months. July 3rd, 4th and 5th. I recommended SLADES do the catering for our July 5th family banquet. Guess what BOSTONIANS? THEY DID A NO SHOW. My mom got her money back because she paid in full, however this is UNACCEPTABLE. Thank God my moms sister had her back. She had made several of her signatures dishes. They pulled it off without missing a beat. BOSTONIAN FOR LIFE. DAWN

Still one of my favorite neighborhood joints for live Jazz and R&B music, and surprisingly good food. Chicken wings are awesome, baked or fried. Love the community atmosphere and how the musicians fall in with their instruments and just jam. If you are feeling like a superstar, you can even get on stage and sing with them with MC Caseys permission of course..... Parking is wicked, but Slades is certainly worth the trip.

Slades Food is great the only thing is. They should serve more than chicken till at least midnight. The drinks are too expensive if the cost was lower like the Dublin house then Me and others would buy more drinks. Just for 3 drinks ran me up to 33 dollars. Also the bathroom needs to be much cleaner and remodeled. And a few of the staff need to be more proffesional. Because of these things is what made me score them at a 3

On my first trip to Boston I went there and was completely flabbergasted by the food. I didnt expect it to be as good as it was. The base service was also spectacular, the bartender was very attentive. The ambiance was relaxed and everyone was genuinely enjoying themselves. This place is on the top of my list when I return.

Love the wings here!!! I usually order to go. I got the baked wings the other day and they dont taste like how I remembered them. They werent that great. I think they used to grill them or roast them and they were good then but now whatever they are doing, I dont like it. The fried wings still tastes good.
