After hiking, we asked some people at the park office at St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park if they could suggest a place in Prescott for lunch. In unison, they all three said "Muddy Waters". And their advice was right on target. The food was fast and delicious. Our server (Bre) was friendly, helpful and professional. We could not have asked for better food or service. My wife had the BLT and split pea soup and she proclaimed it the "best split pea soup shes had in years". I was torn between burger and healthy and I somehow managed to decide on healthy, ordering the Muddy Waters salad (essentially a chefs salad). But I was more than happy with my choice as the salad was very good (better than most). I would have given the place 5 stars but for one reason. The hostess seated us in one of the worst locations Ive ever experienced. A tiny booth in the middle of way too much traffic and activity. It was right in the middle of a server station and a walk-through area between the front and back of the restaurant (where the restrooms were located). Heavy traffic and a narrow way plus tiny booths and a lot of noise made it a horrible table. At first I didnt say anything because the place was busy so I figured this was the only booth available. But when I discovered four empty tables in a quiet back room with a river view I wasnt very happy with the hostess. I understand seating people in a lousy spot if thats all you have. I dont understand why youd seat someone there when you have much nicer tables available. We did end up sitting in the quiet back room but only because I asked and our server was nice enough to move us. If the food and service hadnt been above average I doubt wed return here. But with restaurants, as with most of life, no experience is perfect. And Bre and the kitchen team impressed us enough that well gladly return with friends. Maybe then Ill try a burger and fries.

My sister and myself took my cousin and husband for a "Thank You" dinner for her hospitality. Cousin ordered the Thai lettuce wrap. When it arrived, she found a piece of ginger, which was fine. But on the other side of the plate, found a piece of raw chicken. She took it to the only person she could find, the Hostess, who said "Are you sure that isnt ginger?" Well, it was thick, ginger is very thin, ginger has a specific texture and smell. The chicken was thick and had no "ginger" smell. The hostess took it away and asked if she wanted something different, which my cousin DID NOT. No one else came to the table after that, not to ask if anyone wanted anything else, another beer, glass of wine, or refill of water. When the waitress brought the bill, she is the ONLY one that apologized, 2 or 3 times, but did say "We took that meal off the bill, all of it, and gave her a free drink". I was shocked that she said "All of it", considering she ate NONE of it, that was a given, I would have thought. As we left, the hostess gave my cousin a snide, dirty look, and said NOTHING. Cousin and husband will NOT be back, neither will I or my sister, as we are both out of state. It made us wonder, how many plates had been near or touching raw chicken?? The rest of us did have grilled chicken in our meals. It was one of the most disgusting experiences Ive ever had at a restaurant and would NEVER suggest this "restaurant/pub" to anyone. And WILL be contacting the Manager over this!

I am from MN and was in Wisconsin to celebrate fathers day with my partner and his father. I took my son for a stroll down the road while his father and grandfather sat down for a beer. I got a spontaneous bloody nose whilst walking down the street with my son and I saw Muddy Waters and stepped in to ask to use the bathroom to clean up and a member of staff was very courteous and directed me to the bathroom and it was a beautiful bathroom, very finely decorated and as I was washing up myself and then my son, I decided to suggest that my dad and grandpa join us for a nice dinner as I was loving the atmosphere of even just the bathroom! However, upon opening the door, I came face to face with an employee (presumably a manager due to her attire) who was very upset about how long I spent in the bathroom since there is only one. She was extremely rude and now I am not going to dine here. I am highly offended and expect better from any fine establishment especially one in a town clearly new to me.

The location is great, the food all looked good. I ordered soup (unbeatable!) and chips and salsa (my favorite thing to eat in many places) The chips were cold and tasted stale (I told the server they were "chewy" to describe them (not light and crispy at all) and I asked her if they are served warm usually (that would help probably) She said, "I dont think so" and that was the end of it for a bit, she came back later and said, "we can give you Doritos if you want" I didnt want Doritos (not really the same) so I said no. I picked pieces off my chips because the guak was good (the salsa tasted very acidy - too much vinegar?) - needless to say, she made a light effort to accommodate. My husband loved is ribs, the group liked their food - one gal said her pasta was pretty plain tasting. So Im giving it three stars. Well come back, but I wont order the chips and salsa plate. Ill try something else.

Food was good, borderline very good. Nice view. I understand patio space is at a premium along the river, so I dont mind sitting so close to people. What is terrible is that they have 3 separate deck levels, but for some reason it never crossed anyones mind allow smoking only on one deck. Seriously, just say if you want to smoke you need to go to the top deck. My pregnant wife and I were stuck 16 inches from someone chain smoking through appetizer, meal, and dessert. Ruined our whole evening, and the taste of the food. Its one thing if there is not kind of natural dividing of the patio space, but to already have 3 separate levels of decks and not designate a smoking area just is foolish.

This is a "must stop" bar and grill for the sophisticated biker couple. The inside bar and grill is decorated with comfortable bistro appointments (you have to see the restrooms!) and is cozy with a great back bar complete with plasma television to watch the game. Outside you will find a multi-level patio and deck overlooking the St.Croix river where it merges into the mighty Mississippi. Muddy Waters welcomes boaters, bikers and families, which makes this a great girl watching stop. The food is extraordinary with a mix of continental cuisine and good ole favorites like buffalo wings. For me, the Bloody Marys are outrageous.

Ordered food with a friend. I had the pulled pork with coleslawm and fries. My friend had a burger with fries. My dish arrived less the coleslaw and the fries were so hard the waitress pinched a frie between her fingers and it crumbled. Same type of fries with my friends meal. The excuse was they had new oil...REALLY, Im suppose to believe this? Bad service and less than fair food...well half the dish was fair. Also they charged us full price for the plates. Unbelievable! Not worth the time or money...go somewhere else. Waitress never came by after dropping off the food till it was clear we were leaving...
