I go to BBQ places for ribs. Couldnt tell how good they tasted from sample as guy behind counter doused them with sauce thats too tangy and too mild for my tastes. The sample was fall off the bone, but I was waiting to get home to taste how good they were minus sauce. I saw him start to douse the meat with sauce in the container and my daughter and I told him to stop. I didnt know until later hed ruined the RIBS. If Id known it was the RIBS he doused I would have refused to pay until he replaced them, but I figured it was mostly on the brisket, as I didnt actually see what he covered as container was on other side of counter. I feel like I was robbed $14, since the ribs were inedible due to the nasty sauce. The one piece I scrubbed the sauce off to eat was end piece minus bone which I normally like, but this was tough as leather. The pieces with bones appeared to be cooked properly, and family said it fell off bone, but I only ate the sample at restaurant and 1 tough rib end. I called to complain but he hung up on me. Anybody who likes BBQ at all should know not to douse it with sauce in the container - this guy should not work in a BBQ restaurant. A third of the brisket was a huge chunk of fat, the rest looked OK and I was told it was good by family. I wanted RIBS, so very upset that I paid for ribs I couldnt eat and paid for a huge chunk of fat. The minute we stepped out of car smells were great, however it didnt smell as good inside the restaurant. My daughter glanced at the side dishes and said we shouldnt get any. I should have realized a non-food-loving person was in charge just by the colorless cole-slaw and nasty looking mac-n-cheese and left without ordering, but I came for MEAT, not side dishes, and Ive seen lack-luster sides at restaurants with great ribs and brisket, so gave it a shot. Bad decision.

Pulled pork sandwiches are $1.99 on Monday... Buy 1 get 1 free pulled pork sandwiches on Tuesday... And were talking about a pretty thick sandwich... Every once in awhile I will find a little bit of fat in my sandwich, but most of the time theyre good about trimming off all of the fat, so all thats left is super moist pork... Their BBQ sauce is also pretty tasty. I service a pool route, and I always stop here for lunch on the day my route takes me to the Colony. The people who work there are also really friendly and pleasant.

Great low-key atmosphere. Very good food and awesome spicy barbecue sauce. We have two girls, 3-year old and 1-year-old. They love the food and it was easy for us to put some old t-shirts on them and let them serve themselves (not something I would do just anywhere). The staff and owners were very welcoming - we really enjoyed the family atmosphere. As others have mentioned, its not a fancy environment, but sometimes thats perfect! :-).

When you walk in the door your nose will thank you. This place smells like every great BBQ joint Ive ever been to. Ive been twice now and have tried the ribs, chicken, sausage, brisket, and pork. Both times the food was spot on. Everything has that wonderfully authentic smoky BBQ flavor. Portion and price are on point. Great selection of fresh sides. Good to see that someone is doing authentic BBQ here in The Colony. I will be back!

These guys dont care about anything but BBQ. Their sign is all ripped up, their building looks like its about to fall apart, but all that should matter is this place NEVER fails. They probably make one of the best Brisket plates Ive ever had, and thats saying a lot. They are somewhat of a hole in the wall, traditional, super low-key spot which makes it all the better. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Service was horrible guy was on his phone the whole time I had to keep telling him my order cashier was rude I got charged for a 9 year old even tho it says kids under 12 eat free I even told her my daughter is 9 she then said I could not use a coupon on a buy one meal one free and get the kids deal seriously. Food was good service sucked

A great find for BBQ! The ribs and sliced brisket (off the top, of course) are excellent. There is a wide variety of sides, and the good news is, cobbler can be one of the sides. The rolls are soft and yeasty. The staff is very friendly as well. I have already brought a few friends by and they agree with my assessment completely.

Loved the visit. Food was good. You got alot of food for the money you had to pay. Prices were not bad. We had 3 adults and 3 kids and all the kids got to eat for free. It was cool that the price of the drink was also part of the price. Very happy and will sure visit again.

Excellent BBQ, friendly staff and quick service. I highly recommend this restaurant. They even have leaner brisket but I would suggest you ask for it as they default to the more marbled brisket. They also have all you can eat catfish/hush puppies on Friday and Saturday.

Went there many months ago and came away unimpressed. Expensive and BBQ was subpar. The "best" thing was probably the BBQ sauce, but thats not saying much. Sides are canned, especially the vegetables. So glad a Hard Eight is opening down the way.

You get a LOT of food for a VERY low price. Always getting coupons in the mail for buy one meal get one free as well! Food is DELICIOUS! Restaurant is a little run down and a tad bit dirty but the food is TOTALLY worth it.

Great value for a tasty dinner. Cafeteria style home diner with very friendly staff. Tons of sites and specials to choose from. Pulled pork, brisket and chicken were solid choices. Fed 3 adults for just at $30.

Weve been several times because the BBQ is good and the service is friendly. Its a good ole BBQ joint. You should eat there too or one day youll wake up and there will be no BBQ in The Colony. Then what?

Large portion sizes for a great price. All the typical bbq meats with a wide variety of sides and deserts (free ice cream as well). Daily specials and kids eat free. Love eating here.

Pretty basic BBQ. Meat taste bland. Sides tastes like they were made yesterday or came straight out of a can. Save your money and head over to Hutchins BBQ in Frisco or Hard Eight.

BBQ was okay. Most "Ma and Pa" locations look at least decent, but this one just feels lower quality. Further, it really seems like the sides are from a can or box.
