I went to Meijer tonight. There were two employees outside smoking. I was carrying my pups who is 5lbs. They said their names were Larry and Laura, I think they thought that was funny? The woman who was outside yelled at me that I could not bring my puppy inside. I said Im sorry, shes an emotional support dog. They asked me where her tags/license were. I said that I could give them a letter from my psychologist but they dont have required tags. They continued to yell she was not allowed inside the store without those things. I tried to say that although ADA does not recognize her as a service dog, she is an emotional support dog. I know this is connected to my google account and my identity so I will say very candidly: I lost my boyfriend tragically, in our apartment; he was the most amazing man and I miss him every day. I got a puppy after over two years to help me emotionally. She does not bark, she does not cry, she does not get down ever inside a store, she does not potty in store; I dont know why I had to be yelled and laughed at because I was trying to bring my emotional support dog in. I sincerely am conscientious of other peoples needs and concerns and I was so mortified. I really value the experiences of other people and if someone was afraid of her or allergic I would never have let her down on the floor anyway. I am just so embarrassed. I have done my research and I cant find a governmental licensing agency for her in Michigan. I just feel so embarrassed.

Shopping at Meijer has been on on-going surprise. Rather than a "shopping warehouse," its well organized, clean, well-stocked store in which different sections feel like entirely individual stores -- theres no feeling of being in an overwhelmingly large store. In one stop you can find clothing, electronics, food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, music, electronics, furniture... -- in other words, just about anything you can think of. The quality is excellent, and Meijers own brand of products equals or surpasses those that are widely known and advertised. Meijer also is home to other services not owned and operated by Meijer -- Great Clips (barber shop/hair salon), U.S. Post Office, bank, Starbucks... youll find more than you probably might imagine. Prices are low to average. Service is adequate. Checkout lines move quickly; self-checkout is available. Meijer isn "upscale store," but it doesnt pretend to be. Its simply a well-run, well-stocked, clean, well-lighted place to get what you need at a reasonable price. Who could ask for more?

The lines are getting really crazy...seems like that should be managed better. I have lived in the area for nearly 2 years and it seems to be worsening. Even when I go at a random time like 10 A.M. on a weekday, its still nuts. Sometimes its worth the extra $ to go to Whole Foods just to avoid the hassle. Watch the produce and especially the fresh mozzarella; it frequently is on its last day or over the sell by date. Also, another EXTREMELY obnoxious thing,...I swear the flipping alarm goes off ALL the time. If you buy a movie, fancy razor etc plan on the alarm going off and waiting at the door holding up swarms of people for the attendant to half hazard look through your things.

I am DONE with Meijer. The two closest grocery stores to me are both meijers and from this point on Im driving the extra 15 minutes to go to any other store. Every time I go to this store, no matter what time of day or night, I wait for at least 15 minutes to get through a line. They are ridiculously understaffed! I am currently writing this review as I wait for over 10 minutes in the self checkout fast lane because no one is around to type in an authorization code and this is a typical visit for me. There have been visits when Ive left hundreds of dollars in groceries behind because the wait to check out is so long I run out of time. Just done for good.

A million reasons, a single store :-) When I first moved to Ann Arbor, I avoided the Meijer. It was dingy and carried low quality merchandise, both food and department store parts. However, some years ago, the whole chain was completely overhauled. I enjoy shopping there now - it is bright and well organized. It has a better line of merchandise, and their house brand of foods is as good as any major brand. They also carry a wide selection of organic foods. Their loyalty program, Perks, is terrific. I am also impressed that most antibiotics are simply free. Such an important service to the community.

Meijer?! This place is like the Artisan version of this regional General Merchandise store. Great place for getting groceries and even offers car side service. You can get just about anything you need at a modest price point. Prices fluctuate depending on the location when it comes to Meijer, especially where groceries are concerned. Still, this is my favorite all-purpose retailer. Check out MPerks. Its fantastic if you buy a lot of items for an infant (diapers, formula, etc...) you get $10 back for every $100 that you spend.

As a corporation, they dont care about customer satisfaction. They dont answer their phones, not even during the slow time of the day. I couldnt even leave a message for the store manager. Shop local and buy from people who actually care about customer service. Its not the fault of the workers, its the fact that their store is manned by too few employees and that is a corporate decision. All I wanted was to find out if they had an item I was looking for before driving all the way in. So, Im buying it somewhere else.

While this visit was a quick check-out, that is almost never the case at whatever Meijer I go to. I love to shop there...I just hate to check-out there. The lines are usually ridiculous and they never open additional lines. On one visit, we had already waited 15 minutes and there were large lines at all of the registers. Did they open new lines? Nope. They closed the one I was in. They finished checking out the people who were already in line but it just increased the wait for everyone else in the other lines.

Amongst Meijers this ones my favorite. Its your standard big-box super market/department store, but its clean and the staff is friendly. As far as food goes, the produce and meat are par, and the prices are cheap for the Ann Arbor area. The best thing about this place by far is the curbside pickup, letting you order your groceries online and then have them delivered to your vehicle without you ever having to get out of the car for only $5. Not bad Meijer, not bad.

The store is well kept, well stocked, and well staffed. I do most of my shopping here for multiple reasons, and their staff are always courteous and helpful - they will help you even if they dont immediately know the answer to your question, unlike a lot of other stores. Only complaint is almost constant congestion at checkout - if they want to use those u-scans they should get more - enough lanes are never open unless its the dead of night.

Older woman at the checkout was incredibly rude. I was buying alcohol for my 21st birthday. She says, "thirsty today?" in a rude tone with an annoyed expression. I reply "its my birthday today so...." clearly she could see my license was for my 21st, but instead of apologizing, she ROLLED HER EYES. I love Meijer and the majority of my experiences there, but this Meijer needs to hire better employees.
