Miami is finally getting on the ramen bandwagon. Case in point: the newly opened Ichimi in Coral Gables, which is offering unique spins to traditional ramen dish along with gyozas and Japanese izakaya fare. Helmed by executive chef Constantine De Lucia, formerly of Momi Ramen, Lure Fishbar and Estiatorio Milos by Costas Spiliadis, the menu showcases ramen three ways – a traditional presentation of ramen submerged in various broths; Tsukemen, or dipping style, with hot broths served with a side of cold ramen for dipping; and cold ramen with a salad-like execution. We got to try the Seafood version made with clams, shrimp, garlic confit, lemongrass, micro radish, pea tendrils and scallion and the Beef Brisket Ramen with bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, takana, dehydrated red pepper strings and a Hanjuku egg, both were nice ways to warm up on a cool(ish) Miami day. The izakaya options are rather expansive as well and we got to try a little bit of everything. Some of the standout dishes included the Scallion Pancake with yuzu crème fraîche, sesame caviar and micro radish; Deviled Egg with Hanjuku egg, Ikura, pea tendrils, sesame wind; Sweet and Sour Ribs made with a house blend SS, micro radish and yuzu zest; Uni Taco with tempura nasturitum, uni, wagyu, shisho air; Bean Sprouts with rice wine vin, yuzu, nori powder, garlic confit foam and the Soft Shell Crab with dehydrated red pepper strings, mizuna, ginger, garlic, yuzu, sesame oil and rice wine vinegar.

Very nice, clean, casual place to have some very delicious Tonkotsu Ramen. The wait staff was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu items. Our waitress offered some of the Sakes for us to sample, we eventually went with the standard Hot Sake and also had some of the microbrew Japanese beers, which were all very good. The first thing we ordered was the Kraken Bun, it was served hot and fresh and very delicious. Also, we tried the Scallop Pancakes, which were served with a sweet sauce, not what were used to but still very good. The Tonkotsu Beef Ramen is probably the best Ramen Ive ever had, the portion was big enough to share with someone and was very filling (they served one in two bowls). Lastly, although theyre not known for their desert, we placed an order for Red Bean Mochi... I wouldnt recommend it but the waitress was kind enough to waive it from our check. All in all, I was very happy with our visit to Ichimi and would definitely recommend my friends go and try the Tonkotsu Ramen! Also, the prices were not as bad as most of these reviews say they are, the meal, drinks, service, and atmosphere were worth every penny. :)

Two stars because although the meat (albeit little quantity) and the egg in the pork tonkotsu were really tasty..., everything else (food wise) was disappointing. If youve tried ramen before youll find the broth was below average quality (very watered down and little taste), you dont get a choice of the noodles for your dish, only one type of mushrooms and a lot of soy beans (too much in my view). $20 (after tax) for the quality offered I think it was excessive. Would recommend if youre around the area and dont feel like having anything else on offer around Miracle Mile. Would not recommend if youve tried a reasonably decent ramen soup before. Ps: although Im not taking this into account for the rating, I think itd be worth mentioning that nobody came around to fill up my water during the entire meal. I think this is basic and certainly you get this in any other restaurant in Miami. Its just about the attention to detail that makes the difference in the service quality. Other than that, service was ok.

I love me some noodles and this place is decent for Ramen but it is very over priced for dinner but not as insanely priced like the one in downtown Miami. .. crazy people! Theyre out of their minds! !!!! For starters, the broth does need to be thicker or at least give customers the option to have it thicker. Needs a tad more flavor and certainly more Ramen. The portions are too small for the price theyre charging. ... seriously, its noodles. Dont be stingy. Make your clients want to come back. The atmosphere is cute and music is great. Overall, its decent. Would I come back? Maybe once in a blue. Would I recommend? Depends. Fix a few minor things and yes, I would. My family and I are foodies so we love to eat good food and love to recommend places to our friends and clients.

4th time here and I have not been disappointed. Menu changes here and there but weve had: tonkotsu ramen, oyster bun, pork belly bun, pigs feet, crispy pig ear, edamame, duck wings, crispy chicken, and Szechuan chicken. All the dishes are tastefully unique in their own flavors, and the spicy ones are actually spicy. I love that they serve each dish as its ready. Nothing is better than eating hot food fresh from the kitchen. Shout out to our favorite waitress Grey, who always gives us a lol extra of our favorite sauces on the side.

Well...First, It is not TONKOTSU RAMEN. It should be called Chinese Pickled Veggie Pork Noodle. Or in Chinese 梅菜扣肉麵加酸菜⋯ 1-The noodle type is so wrong. It is thick round type. It doesnt have to be curly. It can be thin white ramen noodles. 2-Chinese pickled veggie is used. 3-Way too salty even by my standard. 4-Portion is way too small for $18 5-Pork broth tastes very "Mixed". They probably mix Chinese cooking with Japanese. I cant believe Zagat reviewed it. Unbelievable. I guess Zagat doesnt know Authentic Japanese Ramen after all.

Found this hidden gem from square, went there for lunch. They had a very good lunch deal, for $15 you get a ramen, dumplings, and house salad. Everything was delicious. The dumplings were the best Ive had in Miami. I ordered the shrimp dumplings, and there were actually chunks of shrimps. Ive been back 4 times in the past 3 weeks for dinner. Almost tried everything they have on the menu, and they are all delicious. Good beer selection. Wish it had more dessert. And service is always fast and friendly.

Our time at Ichimi was great! From our food to our extremely helpful server Jennifer. Jennifer explained every dish and was able to easily split our checks (A+ for that!). Reservations were easy (just call them up) and always suggested. This was my first time having Takoyaki ball and it was delicious. My garden ramen (veggie) was extremely flavorful and I will definitely be returning to order it again. Price is reasonable ($17.50 for the veggie ramen). Great atmosphere and will definitely return!

Great ramen shop with some flavorful dishes. Thoroughly enjoyed the chicken/curry potato rice bowl. Unfortunately no brown rice, but still full of flavor and filling. The ramen was great as well - the chicken dumpling ramen was delicious, and the pork belly ramen definitely woke up my taste buds as well. Dont skip out on the buns either! Great Japanese beer selection as well. Staff was knowledgeable and polite. Dishes are pricy - recommend happy hour and lunch specials.

The noodles were too hard for me. It tasted under cooked. The waiter was friendly & nice but their food was just average, nothing to rave about. My wife had the chicken & the after taste was like nail polish remover. We spent $35 on ramen, a chicken bowl, octopus app ($5) & hot tea. Im not one to be cheap with food but this spot was overpriced based on the taste of their dishes. Ended up going to IN&OUT right after to fill up.
