A little disappointed. My wife and I are staying in this lodge right now. What Im about to write is, of course, what I look for in a place Im staying at while traveling. This place may be perfect for you depending on what youre looking for but it didnt fit my likes. Likes: The staff is very nice as well as the people saying here. The whole place looks nice and has a nice feel. They do have free wireless. They had our keys in an envelope ready for us when we arrived(we where late arriving). Coffee in the room. Food in the restaurant was very good. Dislikes: No panoramic view like I read. I could hear people below us (the bar) and the people saying beside us. We made our reservations VERY early so we had our choice on what room. I asked the guy, which one is best? He said they are all the same. So I said, if you had to choose, which one would you choose? So he picked the room we are in now. So, the noise from this room probably should have been taken into consideration. The door to the room and to the rooms bathroom may have expanded so the wood rubs on the door frame. So when I wake up before my wife, I have to wake her up when I leave the room or go to the bathroom. The door knobs dont feel secure, and feel like with a fair amount of force, you could get into the room even when its locked. The TVs are old and I was not able to connect my laptop to it (and I was well prepared in terms of cabling). My laptop may of been too new for the TV. It has no S-Video out. In my opinion, TVs are cheap these days. I think this could be upgraded. At 7:30am day one, there was no coffee. Shortly after, there was. On our second day stay, there was only decaf coffee. There was coffee in the room but I didnt want to wake my wife. The morning of day three, there was coffee pots but they where empty. The morning of day four, same issue but this time there was no OJ. The night of day two, there was a wedding downstairs but you would have thought you where above a night club. The bass was very loud until 11:00 at night. So in short, I would rather of stayed at a budget hotel. We stayed at Americas Best Value Inn on the way up which had a fridge, microwave, coffee in the room in the lounge all the time, and had different types of breakfast foods every morning for $58+. I see no reason to pay $110+ (off season) for a place like this. Except that fact that it looks nice. But just about everything needs to be updated. Maybe this is typical for a place like this. Ive give you all this info because I may be the one expecting too much. I started this review in the middle of my stay here and gave it two stars. Im now at the end of my stay here. Im going to lower the review to one star mainly because of the wedding music. I cant recommend this place.

We held our daughters wedding at the Leland Lodge and had the most fabulous experience! Katelyn was our event coordinator and she guided us so easily through the entire process. This was our first planning of a wedding experience and Katelyn made it as easy as we could have ever expected. The menu choices were awesome-we went with salmon, vegetarian pasta & their famous ribs! Guests gave rave reviews! The appetizers & pies for dessert were amazing! We had 200 people from out of town-they were accommodated at the Leland Lodge, Falling Waters, Whaleback & several vrbo house rentals. Guests loved the area-what a destination. We are locals here & looked at several venues-The Leland Lodge was by far the best!

The Leland Lodge was everything and more that we could of hoped for! Our wedding was absolutely perfect and a large part of that was because of the lodge, and more specifically Katelyn. If you are looking for an Events Manager that goes above and beyond you will find that in Katelyn. The lodge was also the perfect place for us to enjoy a wedding weekend. A lot of our guests stayed in the adorable rooms on the property. The venue is the perfect size for an intimate reception, we had 115 guests. Our guests also could not stop raving about how delicious the reception food was. I would recommend The Leland Lodge to ANYONE! The lodge was by far our favorite vendor and the easiest to work with!

Our daughters wedding reception was held at The Leland Lodge on September 10, 2016. The planning from start to finish was handled professionaly and fun at the same time. Katelyn helped us through in everyway to make it just perfect for Stefani! The event space was lovely. Our guests were able to move about indoor and outdoor with a large dining space and dance floor, patios and fire pit. The walkways wind around and are surrounded by beautful gardens. The staff was attentive and professional, always smiling! We would highly recommend this venue for your next wedding or event! Thank you Leland Lodge for a memorable affair! Perry and Heidi Pentiuk

My wife and I stayed at the Leland Lodge Resort over the Memorial Day weekend and were pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the accommodations were a blend between up-north and 1970s. The setting is very pretty looking out over the golf course, and it was very convenient to town. We brought our bikes along and found the Lodge to be a great home base for our weekend. For anyone looking for a same old-same old hotel room, this is not the place you should stay. If you are looking to experience something different in a very nice part of northern Michigan, this should be on your short list of places to stay.

The staff is very friendly. The rooms are dated, the bathroom was not really clean enough for my liking. The towels are thread bare and rough fabric. Room is a good size and works well for a family (bunk beds and sofa bed). Sofa bed was very lumpy and the couch was stained. Setting is pretty. A/C worked well. But I wont stay here again unless its updated. Heads up ..no elevator so if youre traveling w/elderly or have a tough time climbing stairs, it wont work.

An okay place. They were out of almost everything on the breakfast menu. Pillows - I kid you not - emitted a horrible odor when you first lay your head down that smelled like dry old man farts. LOL. Awful. Coffee in the morning was located way in the back of the dining room and the staff there always seemed annoyed when I would walk back to get some. Nice sized rooms and clean. Staff is friendly for the most part. They gotta fix that pillow smell, though.

Photographed a Fall Wedding in 2014 and the staff and location was perfect. Even though it was a cold and rainy day, the staff worked hard to make everyone comfortable. The food is fantastic. There is tons of locations nearby for photography. I would highly recommend this location for your Wedding venue!

Stayed in mid October 2016. The rooms are Northern, MI cabin motiff. Very nicely done in that style. Beds are soft and rooms are clean. Just ask if a wedding celebration is going on when you are staying because they do let them play until 11pm. I was fine my parents were not. Would definitely suggest it.
