I stopped here for their self-proclaimed "famous" vegan carrot cake that they made because customers "demanded" a vegan version of this cake. Walked in, the place was empty, yet 2 employees just stared at me without a greeting. I didnt see the cake in their display cases right away so had to ask the 2 women behind the registers. They pointed out one last measly little piece, sitting right by the checkout. I asked if they had other vegan treats and they said they had a scone. I got a weird vibe from both that they either thought I was a crazy vegan or that they hate their lives. I bought the carrot cake anyway. Sat down to eat it and had to go back up and ask for a fork, where they looked at me again like I was a weirdo. Bad vibes, cake was overly sweet and not worth a trip back. Go to Sticky Fingers down the street instead!

Having worked here, and shopped here, I can say two things; This bakery is truly French. The owners themselves are French, and they will carry traditional French seasonal baked goods as well as other classics. They do hot meals, cookies by the pound, grab n go meals, all sorts of drinks, gelato, soups, cakes, cake decorations, catering and probably hundreds of other things. Their easter treats are to die for! You get a french cafe vibe, and will not be pressured to leave. The outside seating is a hot commodity in the summer, so you may get dirty looks from patrons, but never staff. Pets are welcome in outside seat areas, and families are always welcomed.

Ive only done business with this bakery once, but they knocked my experience out of the park! I had to get a breakfast order for my dept. at work and not only was the food fantastic, but I paid less than I was quoted the day before. The spinach and feta pastry is absolutely amazing! My only caveat is that my order wasnt ready when I arrived, granted I was about 10 minutes early. However, as I waited, the owner gifted me with a small pastry and small coffee as I waited. I was very happily surprised with the generosity. Two big thumbs up for La Caprice DC! Thank you!

Not only does Le Caprice have the best croissants in the city, they do amazing custom orders for other pastries and baked goods. While not a steal, they are able to do custom orders (in every possible color and flavor) for macarons. I specifically ordered key lime and raspberry/strawberry for an event, and they were simply delicious. Most of the staff speak French, too (bonus points for authenticity!)

After two different visits to La Caprice, I rate it as an average coffee shop with bakery. Coffee is fair, baked goods are better. Internet was oddly complicated and the best option was an admin connection that the owner suggested. It was quiet and not crowded when I needed a place to get some work done which makes it better than many other coffee shops in the area.

The staff are always incredibly friendly, the coffee is great, the treats are delicious, and the croissants are some of the best Ive ever had. Pro tip, show up early if you can and get them while theyre still warm! Even their sandwiches are tasty, and a great option if youre lazy and need something for dinner. I love this place!

La comida es deliciosa. Además el servicio es muy eficiente y tambien hay parqueo justamente en frente lo cual hace que el lugar sea muy accesible

This is where we get fresh bread each week. Since the baguettes would sell out, weve tried other types and now the sour dough is our favorite. The pastries and cookies are all good, coffee is nice and hot. Sandwiches are best heated and eaten there. Cant wait for the spring to be able to sit outside.

One of my favorite coffee shops in the city! Great fresh pastries, Pain au Chocolat, Almond Croissant, Egg Cheese and Turkey on a Croissant are my faves along with a cup of black or iced coffee depending on the season. Pleasant outdoor patio is pretty clutch when it is nice out.

This bakery makes my mouth water every time I go by. The smell of fresh croissants, bread, and other baked goods is exceptional. They have one of the highest rated croissants in DC as well! In addition to baked goods, they have confections, and sandwiches which are massive.

Great staff and delicious food, but poor environmental practices -serve sit down customers in single use cups/utensils, almost everything is unnecessarily wrapped in plastic, hard to find recycling and door always open (so heat/AC inefficient).

I dont know about everyone else who has made a review but Ive never encountered any customer service issues. My experience is limited to sandwiches but they are always delectable. I work nearby so I occasionally drop in to pick up a sandwich.

Ive been waiting for my delivery food for over an hour. I called, and spoke to a young lady who said literally nothing of value. She said the term "yeah no" and "no yeah" a grand total of 16 times in our 1 minute phone conversation.

I love this place! The food and coffee are great. Only downside is the service is slow! And I used to love that they were open at 7am on Sundays but they recently changed the hours which is a huge disappointment.

I know we get used to high prices in DC, but this place is pricey enough that I wont come back. The fruit side at breakfast is pretty weak and I wouldnt recommend the bagel+egg+cheese, which was just OK.

Kinda disappointing. Desserts looked beautiful but have definitely had better tasting, moist desserts. The Mango mousse cake was too tart and dry; the mocha cake was just not creamy and also dry.

Excellent croissants and coffee. Staff is friendly, thoughtful and helpful. Parking is extremely difficult. Even on residential side streets 2 and 3 blocks away.

Theyre not, a stated, the best croissants in DC, but its always great food in what would be best described as an Aladdins cave. The bakery never stops cranking

The best Croissant in DC. I had pistacio, and it was fabulous. My wife enjoyed her chocolate one. The coffee is good as well. Pretty much perfect.

Just ordered the quiche. Hot quiche wrapped in foil makes for a soggy mess. Taste was horrible. Coffee was good.

Great sandwiches and breakfast pastries. Plenty of seating indoor and out and takeout is quick.

The macarons were average at best, just like the "friendly and helpful" customer service.
