First time eating here and it was a very tasty experience. So much so I cant wait to go back and try some other dishes. I had the paella and my wife had chicken alfredo with tagliatelle pasta. Paella was really good, first time trying due to my aversion to muscles. But the muscles were fresh and the shrimp were spicy and very tasty. Not fishy. Our companions had lasagne and shrimp and scallops. Sampled both and I cant wait to go back for lasagne. Best Ive had in KY. And the calamari and shrimp appetizer was fantastic! Super fresh and the marinara and garlic butter sauces were yummy. Great Bourbon selection. Maybe best I have seen. High recommend.

I enjoy this restaurant more every time I go. Most recently, my husband and I wanted to try a new place down the street. It was full, so we decided to walk down to Portofino. It was Sunday evening and still early. The restaurant was really quiet and we got our bread and drinks immediately. I decided to try the ravioli this time with the sage butter, and wow- what a good choice! My husband got the classic linguine marinara and really enjoyed that also. This is a great restaurant with an excellent wine selection, a nice bar, and a very pleasant patio for outdoor seating when the weather is good. You will spend a bit more, but its worth it.

Went here for the first time: Food had great taste, although it wasnt hot when it came out. Our server was nice, but absent most of the evening. When we were leaving, my wife and I noticed that most tables had been served bread before the meal. This is when we realized that we didnt get any bread with our meal. However, we did receive water midway through our meal after asking for it. Feel like this place has great potential...dont know if we will be heading back in the future.

The food here is amazing! I had dinner here as part of large group, so I got to try every single appetizer. They were all amazing! I also had the Cesar salad and cannolis, which were nothing special but delicious nonetheless. The Tiger Shrimp and Sea Scallops Buccatini was fantastic! I was already pretty full from the appetizers by the time I got my entree, but I still managed to eat a fair bit of it because it was so delicious. Staff was nice, chairs were comfortable.

Very accomodating for our party of 20! They had a beautiful long table on the patio for us (one table, not two!!) and quickly moved us indoors when it started raining. They were very helpful and friendly and made my boyfriends birthday a low stress situation! The food was delicious and the atmosphere is great! Definitely a great choice for a special occasion/celebration!

Portofino is a really lovely restaurant with great staff and delicious food. I always take my family there when we want to have a special meal. The owners of Portofino are also really wonderful and contribute greatly to the community and community non-profits. Lexington is so lucky to have this restaurant.

If you want a romantic date in Lexington this is your place. Ive never been here any time that I havent left completely satisfied, stuffed, AND have a box of food to take home. The Chef is amazing as well as the Waiters/Waitresses. It can be costly but the price is well worth it!

Way overpriced for the quality of the food. Which by the way was over cooked and frankly very bland. Overall, my food and my wifes food was atrocious. Not to mention, the service was very slow even when it wasnt busy. I will never go there again. Dont waste your money.

Nice place with a good atmosphere but the food was not the best I had the beef medallions and they had an odd taste to them. Also the music they had playing had commercials in it and you would think they make enough money to upgrade to premium.. haha

Excellent choice for dinner in downtown Lexington. They often use local or seasonal ingredients. The atmosphere is elegant and intimate. Going here would be good as part of a date or a special occasion with friends or family.

One of the best menus in Lexington and the plates are always presented well. Consistently good service and atmosphere. Prefer to sit near the bar area or on the patio in the summer.
