UPDATE: Brunch review - 4.8/5 Begrudgingly had to come back here for a birthday celebration and had low expectations. Supposedly this restaurant was known more for their brunch so there was hope. Well, it was literally a night and day difference! The brunch is actually quite good with a wide selection of meats, usual items, and desserts. The waiters were spot on and do not make you feel like you have to cringe. The ones that served us was actually a delight. Waters were always full, even within minutes of getting empty. My pregnant wife even found things shell eat! I dont know what happened for our dinner that made it a bad experience but the hype for the brunch is real. Will definitely come back for brunch. Well done. Upgrading the review to 4-stars. _______ Previous Dinner Review This restaurant had a lot of neat things going for it. The atmosphere, the planes, the nice relics on the walls. For some reason however the experience in the end left much to be desired. We were about 5 minutes early for our reservation and we had to wait a little at the bar for our table. Not even 2 minutes of standing and waiting by the door, a waiter shoved my wife into me and I almost fell over. I brushed it off, thinking maybe she had a bad day but what really soured my mood was that there was not even an "excuse me" or a "pardon me" or even a simple sorry... wow. Going on. We ordered our food and the waiter had a personality of... to quote a yelp reviewer, "an unfrosted miniwheat". I understand she was trying to be helpful and informative but everytime she talks everyone couldnt help but cringe inwardly as if a puppy was being run over by a monster truck and then reversed back and forth. It all felt really forced. Still left a good tip because she still tended to us well. Just maybe be a little more natural please? The food. Trout good. Steaks... just like every other restaurant, you ask for medium-rare, you get medium-well... except on a NY Strip as thats the same as asking for a tire and thats rather disappointing because the most expensive items on the menu were steaks. Not to mention the glaze. $2 extra for something that tastes like a powdered mix. It probably was... And then there was the Salmon Souffle... which by their definition was a whole baked salmon steak with possibly some egg, cheese, parmesan, and a little bit of herbs on the top. Im sorry, that is not a Souffle, maybe try reading some french cooking books? We asked the waiter if she was sure that was a souffle (to which she said of course!) and of course another puppy probably just died underneath the tires of a monster truck. Well, this was a bummer. Ive heard good things about this restaurant but this was a bit underwhelming. Definitely loses on the price for food quality and staff is either rude or forced. Granted its Fathers Day and it was busy which I did not review on because it would be unfair to note we waited 47 minutes for the entrees to come out. Dont think Ill come back anytime soon. Well, maybe if I ever feel compelled enough to look at planes taking off again but thats what flight simulators are for.

During a recent visit to 57th Fighter Group Restaurant our view of this place completed changed because our encounter with Ms. Clancy. My son was looking at the model planes parked on the lawn and was herded away from there by Ms. Clancy like herding an animal, later she rudely demanded my son who was standing up looking at the fire pit to sit down; when I protested the manner of her speaking she told us to leave if we did not like their kids-remain-seated policy. I do not like the policy but they have the right to make whatever policy they see fit. My problem is with the messenger - Ms. Clancy, the General Manager, her tone of voice, facial and body gestures were condescending, to say the least. When I asked the name of the owner, she dismissed my question by waving her arms saying I have better things to do and took off. My 6-year-old son who was well behaved the whole time told me that the lady (Ms. Clancy) made him feel very bad. The customers surrounded us and the staff were quite sympathetic towards us. We got Ms. Clancys full name, the owners name from the staff and decided to leave. A staff requested another manager to speak to us and also suggested to seat us inside. A manager came over to talk to us about the situation, since she was quite nice we were considering to be reseated until Ms. Clancy injected herself into our conversation; she shamefully accused my son running wildly on the runway, and me yelling at her. I told her she was unprofessional and disrespectful etc, and she tried to dismiss us by saying that we were making a scene. I only read about and saw on movie/TV of individuals smearing others with lies to justify their own faulty behaviors, to experience it personally is something heavy to take in, because it is not easy to explain to a 6-year old that a person with this type of quality can be the boss of the place, and why she won even she was rude and lying and we had to leave with empty stomach. We left and went somewhere pleasant to eat, and we taught our son that we left because we do not tolerate bullies, dishonesty will not prevail, we will share the bad experience with the owner and the rest of the world via Internet. My family travels all over the world and we had never experienced this type of unkindness from anybody at anywhere until this encounter at the hospitable south of United States of America. I wish the owner of this restaurant would work on improving the professionalism and communication skills of his staff.

I can take the bad with the good and this place was both. I showed up alone on a Friday night about 7:15 p.m. A couple walked in just ahead of me and were seated immediately. While I was waiting for the hostess apparently something went wrong with that couples seating arrangement and they returned to the reception area. I asked (manager? Owner?) for a seat by the window so I could watch the planes land and take off, but was told that since every seat is a window seat every view would be good. The hostess returned. I repeated my request. She said there was a reservation for the table right by the window for a party of four. I pointed and said, "oh that one?" She said, "yes." I was then seated at a booth probably 25ft to the window. Decent view. The couple who had just come in before me was quickly seated at the table by the window I just pointed to! The only other table by a window in that dining room was a four-top. I left about 8:15 p.m. and no one had used that table yet. The waitress Patrice was nice. She seemed knowledgeable. The atmosphere was unique in many different ways (airstrip view, all ages, history, dance floor, bar, patio, dining room). The food was average. But it appeared reasonably priced. I wish they had offered me a seat out on their gigantic patio as it was a mild night. But they never presented that alternative, even after expressing interest in being closer to the action. That disappoints me. I would probably go back to give it another chance. But I would go with other people who were visiting from out of town as the experience is unique. Three stars because it had pros and cons. With tip I was out of there for $42.
