I cant say enough great things about the food at Himalayan Fusion. Have eaten here about 4-5 times so far and every time the food is incredible. My wife and I love to come here as the location is nice - right on the downtown mall, service is usually great (during one visit they were understaffed and it took a while to be served), and oh the food! Amazing. As a vegetarian married to a vegan, there are so may meat/dairy-free options on the menu that we always have a great selection, which isnt the case with most c-ville restaurants. The food quality here is about on par with Milan (but a little more interesting), but the location and atmosphere puts it over the top.

Worst Indian food Ive ever tasted. The expensive food came in super tiny portions, and was actually watered down...seriously...the water ran all over my plate. The waiter asked how the food was, and I complained (for my first time anywhere). The manager only offered to remake it, but said it would be the same. No offer to try something else. No offer for a refund. No apologies. They did ask if we wanted to buy anything else. Uh, no. I love Indian & Tibetan food, but this is honestly the worst Ive ever had. Please dont waste your money.

A nice restaurant to eat your dinner. A good choice of yummy meals. Each meal was so huge that its OK just to order one meal for two. We were full after our dinner. A waitress was very helpful. She answered all of our questions, suggested meals. From time to time she wanted to be sure if we were OK. When she didnt know the answer, she asked her manager or/and chef. At the end of our visit, she listened to our feedback. We werent asked to leave a table immediately after finishing our meal.

Tried three dishes and they were all expensive and mediocre. The service was poor - rude, invasive, and slow. I had to take a critical work call outside right before the food was delivered (after a long wait). They basically shamed my girlfriend about my getting up. Then as we were packing up the leftovers, they implied that my getting up had made the food cold which is why we didnt finish. Like I OWED it to them to finish my meal and ignore my boss calling me. Will not return.

I have had a the privilege of dining in fine restaurants and hotels on 4 continents and my rule is never eat a buffet. Except at Himalayan Fusion! Fresh, high quality, elegantly prepared. My wife and I plan our trips around the restaurants hours of opening, whenever we can. Arrive with an open mind and experienced palate and be delighted. And no, I do not get a discount for writing this rave. But an extra somosa next time would be OK. Just kidding. Enjoy!

Their buffet is fantastic and reasonably priced. You can also do a to-go buffet where you squeeze as much food in a to-go container as possible. The only rule is that container must close. On Tuesdays and Fridays they have chili chicken on the buffet and which is my personal favorite. They are currently trying a new menu item, spicy chicken wings. If you havent tried this restaurant, stop in and give it a chance. Amazing food.

Super good food and attractive interior. Overall I strongly recommend. My only complaint is the supply: The buffet seems to run out of food pretty frequently during the lunch hour rush, which means I either take longer for lunch waiting around, or dont get what I came for. At dinnertime, the service has been very good. Weve eaten inside as well as on the outdoor patio on the downtown mall.

Food were good, but I had to wait 2 hours just for the Appetizer, so I left with out having main course after 3 hours of waiting, and got parking ticket when I reach to my car. Restaurant experience would be so great if management had added atleast one or two more servers, I cant blame server they were busy and hard working people. Great location, good food, very poor management.

I love the lunch buffet here. This is my go to lunch spot for lunch whenever I come to Charlottesville. The wait staff David, Murtaza and Moon always greet you with a smile and are very kind and helpful. The food is delicious with different dishes in the menu for different days of the week. Chicken curry on Wednesday, chilli fish on Monday etc.. Definitely recommend!!

Himalayan Fusion has become my favorite Indian type restaurant. Their lunch buffet is always varied and exciting and, to my mind, their chef had the deftest hand with spicing I have ever encountered. There is a cleanness and freshness to the food flavors that sets if above similar restaurants in Charlottesville.

It seemed to me this place prepared mostly Indian style dishes. My food was okay, but nothing spectacular. There are other restaurants in the area where I can get Indian food which tastes alot better. On a good note, the waitress we had took care of us. Overall, I will probably not go back.

Absolutely amazing! Everything we ordered was delicious - samosas, garlic naan, tandoori roti, vegetable biryani, chicken chowmein, vegetable korma, and chana saag. Our server, Shash, was hilarious and very accommodating (ask for him!) We will definitely be returning!

I heard a lot about this restaurant, and about its authenticity. But I was disappointed for the taste of chicken chili. It was awful. Momos were ok. Biryani was good. Aalu govi was awesome. I would try another nepali restaurant before trying this one again.

Food tastes good but buffet service is not all that great. They take time to refill food on buffet. Buffet items are same almost every time. Food is not so spicy. There are many vegetarian and vegan options. I like their Indian desserts.

Delicious buffet with a mix of chicken-based and vegan/vegetarian dishes, replaced often to prevent stale food. The masala chai that comes with the buffet is very good as well. Id gladly go here for lunch anytime Im in town.

Food was absolutely delicious. They were pretty busy with new years eve buffet when we visited and it was a challenge to get water service and the check. But Ill definitely eat the again and bump up a star.

I used to enjoy the lunch buffet but the mint sauce was hot & bland, onion relish was basically ketchup & onions, naan waa flat & crusty, no raita. Just not good thos time.
