Never again! The food is decent, but is overpriced and the owner(s) are the rudest Ive ever encountered. The food is cheaper and BETTER at the nearby Short Hills Deli. My first time there, my friend and I went up to the deli counter and ordered. Once we received our food, we sat down and began eating our lunch. The owner came to us and said he didnt know we were eating in the restaurant, and that the prices are different for dine-in guests. He condescendingly told us that we were supposed to "wait at a table to be served, like a real restaurant". It was a bit rude, but whatever - I didnt know the policy. It certainly looked like a fast food "order and sit" kind of place to me. My fault. Second time, I called for delivery. I was told the delivery person was making a large delivery and that it would be at most an hour to receive my order. I agreed. After one hour and a half, I called and politely asked for the status of my order. The older man that answered the phone (the owner?), very rudely told me that my order was on the truck and that they "have other deliveries, you know". Noticeably annoyed, I explained that I was told one hour and that it had been over one hour and a half! I was told it was on the truck and was hung up on. I NEVER RECEIVED THE DELIVERY! In an economy where so many hard-working owners of great restaurants are struggling to survive, your money would be well spent elsewhere. Try the Short Hills Deli, less than 1 mile away. They dont deliver, but the menu is more expansive, the food is cheaper, and it is just as good (if not a bit better).

Had eaten here with a friend and thought the food was good. Ordered three platters of Sloppy Joes and other things for a party of about 20 people. The Sloppy Joes tasted good but were much smaller than sandwiches you would get at places like Eppes Essen in Livingston at the same or greater price. Adding insult to injury, one of my guests, eating one of the corned beef and pastrami sloppys bit down, felt a crunch, and thought she chipped a tooth. Turned out to be a piece of clear glass. I was embarrassed and appologized. I called The Kibitz Room and told them. There was no appology. The manager got defensive and said he did not use glass in his restaurant. I told him that I was not trying to get anything out of him. He was curt and hung up. Will not go back and neither will the 20 people at my party.

overall - disappointed. I love a good deli. a NY style deli. Sadly the people that run this place took the NY negatives and none of the positives. Frankly they are a somewhat crude bunch- this doesnt happen overnight so dont expect it to change- thats a shame. My real beef is that they overcharge for their sandwiches. 2 pastrami sandwiches and 2 fountain drinks should not cost $30 - this is not Manhattan! IF you want city prices and attitudes, this is the place for you. At this point, the Chinese restaurant next door is where Id rather patron. The food is good, the people are nice and appreciative of their customers. Only reason I come to this place is when the girlfriend wants to go there.

Cannot say enough good things about this place. Their matzah ball soup and potato pancakes are always on point. While not cheap the portions for the pastrami/corned beef sandwiches are huge so def worth it. We mainly do pick up but when we do eat in the place is clean, waitress friendly and men at the counter are friendly enough and orders are always pretty quick. Free pickle bar when you eat in and HUGE desert options. Only that the brownies but those were damn good. Only gripe is the closing time at 8:30 and for me thats way early for me to figure out dinner but I guess its nice to get home with their familys at a decent hour.

As close as Ive come to a New York style deli. Not cheap, but HUGE sandwiches, if you eat both sections of your sandwich at one sitting youll have to roll out of there. I ALWAYS take half home with me (so 2 meals for $15 aint bad!) Dont go at the height of lunch hour unless youre from New York City- its crazy in there! And dont even look at the pastries, damnit! This is not a place to lose weight. But when you absolutely got to have a real deli sammich, this is it!! 2016 Stopped by on my way home from New York. Same old great pastrami sandwiches. Did carry out and they lasted all the way to Florida, plus my car smelled wonderful!

This is your typical Jewish style deli where fat mutants sit there and complain about how their food isnt good or their soup isnt hot enough. I hear there was a town ordinance to tint the windows so the people walking by wouldnt get offended by the fat slobs inside eating. Either way, the food is decent but the owners are rude and discourage you from eating there again. I received the impression I was doing them the favor by spending my money there. Save your money, buy some premium deli meat elsewhere, and make yourself a better sandwhich at home.

Theyre dont even deserve a star. My husband ordered lunch for us from there and he asked them for a turkey and swiss on toasted wheat with mayo lettuce salt and pepper. We pick it up and head back to work and all it was got was turkey and swiss on wheat. NOT toasted with NO MAY, NO SALT & NO PEPPER. This was our first expierence, and I will not go there again. Its not like we asked for a complicated sandwhich. I only get a half hour for lunch and and wasted 20 mintues getting there, finding a place to park and getting back.

Amazing food. When you order a "half" sized sandwich, it doesnt refer to the size of the bread, its the amount of meat you get. A half means half a pound of meat! I have never seen that before. The Matzo ball soup was awesome. I ordered a small and it is bigger than most large bowl of soup I have had at other eateries. And the FREE pickle bar and beverage station are unbelievable. The people serving behind the counter and in the dining room are super nice and friendly. This is my new favorite spot.

The other reviewers must have come on a bad day or under different management. This was an incredible meal!! 1/2 Corned beef reuben, grilled vegetables, garlic spinach (they made an exception and gave me two half sides), sweet potato fries, and a big dent in their pickle bar. These were huge portions at kinda high prices, but well worth it. The staff is a hoot to talk with too. A nice relaxing night with good food (better than both the NY big name delis) and great company.

Good quality sandwiches, yummy actually, BUT!! Try switching 1 meat for another especially if they run out of the 1 thats part of the sandwich.... ... All of a sudden they claim "2meats are dollar extra" but my half sandwich ends up being 18 dollars..... Damn

Counter help is uncooperative with an attitude like they are doing you a favor by taking care of you. Corned beef was piled high, but dry and flavorless. Pickles and sides were better than the sandwich. They wouldnt last two weeks in NYC.
