Whenever we travel I like to try restaurants favored by the locals rather than a restaurant that is part of a national chain. This one had rather good ratings so we decided to give it a try. We ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer, which consisted of 6 nice size shrimp, battered and fried, then tossed in a sweet and spicy sauce and served with ranch dressing for dipping. This was very good and I highly recommend that you try it. I ordered the the grilled pork chops with Jezabell sauce and my husband ordered the lasagna. My entree came with a choice of two sides and I selected a house salad and loaded baked potato. The lasagna came with the choice of a house or cesear salad. Both salads were very good, and I enjoyed the pork chops. The sweet Jezabell sauce complimented the seasoning of the chops very well. The lasagna, however, was not very good. My husband said the dish reminded him of a microwaveable dinner entree, while I thought the "sauce" covering the meat and noodles could have possibly been just a can of tomato paste poured over the top. Most entrees in other restaurants are served with bread, especially pasta dishes. My husband asked if they could make him some garlic bread but the waitress said they were out of garlic bread. How can a restaurant offering several types of sandwiches not have some type of bread to spread with some butter and sprinkle with garlic powder and toast to make some garlic bread? The service was not bad, but neither was it stellar. Overall this dining experience was not top-notch, but it certainly was a far cry from a flop. Even so, if we pass through town again, we will probably opt to try a different restaurant.

Took so long to get our drinks! Bread! Food! Everything!! Even the ticket! Think my table was purposely overlooked because the place was crowded with other people who were getting served. Party of 7 walked in 20 minutes after my table and received their entire meal before us. The first waiter we had never brought the drinks, she was in tears for some reason and never returned to our table. Someone else brought drinks and food. Manager walked passed our table multiple times and wanted to ask how were we when the building became slightly empty and towards the end of our meal. I ordered hot wings which were terribly hard, sent them back to get a burger which they forgot the condiments to go on it. Horrible hated it, loved chophouse for years but I wont experience it again because I wont be going back.

We enjoyed our lunch on the sidewalk and also enjoyed the fact that our dog was welcome as well. I had the bunless burger and it was delicious. I appreciated that I could choose various toppings. The only negative thing I had to say about this place was that our waitress was more interested in sharing her personal drama with the people at the next table than she was on serving us. She chatted with these people for a good five minutes while both my husband and I were out of tea! Although both my husband and I kept trying to catch her eye; it was obvious not only that she saw us trying to get her attention but she gave the impression that after bringing us our food and 1 glass of tea she considered her job done.

My family and I had a good experience at the Chophouse Grille. We brought a 6 month old and a 3 year old and the restaurant was very accommodating. Their menu is pretty big and varied and most of the people in our group enjoyed the appetizers we ordered (calamari, fried green tomatoes, chips & salsa). I thought the calamari was a little "chewy" but we polished off both orders, and no one else mentioned anything about them so maybe it was just me...Everyone really enjoyed their entrees and sides, which were big portions. The prices were reasonable. The service was awesome, there were no errors, and when they brought the bill they gave us Tootsie Pops, which was a really nice surprise!

To the owner : You have some disgruntled employees working the kitchen. The club soda tasted like chemical, I stopped drinking it. The Caesars salad had black/gray granules on it with the taste and texture of ground up gravel, I stopped eating it. The grilled entrée tasted like chemical, like maybe the grill surface is cleaned with Easy Off spray oven cleaner, then cooked upon. I stopped eating it. Im a medical doctor, advise not consuming food here. Also advise the local health department evaluate this place. If it helps the owner to identify the bad kitchen employees, this occurred Tuesday evening on 6/16/15.

Loved this place! This is a great spot, casual dining with GOOD food. We visited Madison for a weekend and tried "Town 220" which is the " fancy" restaurant in town and Chop Houses food was by far superior. Great service, fun atmosphere, enjoyed the live music as well. Cant remember the name but I ordered an entree salad featuring chicken, bleu cheese, spiced pecans, and apples. It was delicious! They bring you tootsie roll pops with your bill, a fun and unique signature that perfectly reflects the style of this place...casual, fun, and tasty!

Great Great Great Food and Customer Service...., From Atlanta and travel through Madison all the time and each time I plan to stop at the Madison Chophouse for lunch or dinner because the food and service is so great. 5+ rating hands down, I nor my clients have had a bad experience, instead everyone applaud how outstanding their experience has been. I am only a customer and those that know me will tell you that food and service is #1 and for me to rate 5+ means the Chophouse should continue doing what their doing and not to change anything....

Stopped in from a trip to north Georgia. Service was slow - waited almost 15 minutes just to get a beverage after being seated. The food was mediocre. My wife had a chicken dished with a piece of sliced pressed ham cooked on top of it. The "caramelized" onions on my patty melt were cooked to the "candy" stage and were almost cooked to nothing. We had to battle flies throughout the meal. The edges of the square dining tables were encrusted with dried food and looked as if they had never been cleaned. Dont think I will stop by again.

We arrived with a party of 6 they were not busy but the server acted like we were an inconvenience and her attitude did not improve. We ordered a bottle of wine she brought out 1 glass, finally another server or the bartender brought out the bottle. They did not inform us that we could not take the remaining wine out so we ended up leaving half the bottle. The food was good except my son ordered a 25.00 steak and they cooked it wrong TWICE...There are better places to eat with much friendlier wait staffs

Stopped here recently on a visit to Madison and was pleasantly surprised to find this hidden gem in a small town. I recommend it if you are a steak lover and in some ways, this rivals more upscale places in Atlanta. The facility is attractive and seems well-maintained. The food is very good and is reasonably priced compared to their big city brothers. The servers were good and very friendly. Overall, my experience was good and I think Madison is lucky to have this place.
