LOVE Angelfish. The sushi is always fresh and amazing, the sake is great. Try the plum sake if you like sweet. Its fantastic. I prefer a couple large bottles of hot sake, some nagiri, and a few rolls. I always take a handful of people here and we order half of the menu and go family style. Everyone is always impressed, I love love love everything on the menu. My friend had the chicken (he doesnt like sushi) and he said it was fantastic as well. Cant complain having a versatile menu. The only gripe I ever have is the wait time, but that just means its good and its always worth it. Great date spot too, though not super secluded seating.

I have been to every Japanese restaurant in Alameda, many in Oakland, and a few in San Francisco; this place by far has the most authentic feel to a restaurant in Japan. People that have been missing that truly authentic taste of Japan from their travels, work, or studies abroad will immediately find themselves coming back to try everything they have to offer. -Green tea is free -The only restaurant in Alameda that serves hot soba ( that I can recall)

First time here and I have to say Im a little disappointed especially after reading the reviews. Sushi is over priced for the quality. I ordered the tempura roll and spider roll. It was dry and didnt have much flavor. The end of one roll had nothing but lettuce and what I assume were shrimp legs that were burnt and had no meat. I picked them out. The mixed tempura was just okay as well. I will not be coming back.

The freshest fish available, cut to order, not cut in advance like lesser sushi shops. The best grade rice, seasoned with a custom recipe of brown rice vinegar, sugar and salt, not a "seasoned" rice vinegar out of a bottle. Expensive nori, not the cheap stuff, same with the pickled ginger. Owner knows fish, knows quality. Order accordingly.

A little gem Japanese restaurant nestled in Bay Farm , Alameda. With literally thousands of Japanese eateries crowded in the east bay, its rather amazing that Angel Fish still holds its place without losing its touch. Id recommend it for lunch and dinner when its open

This is my go to sushi spot on my lunch break. The staff is very warm and treats you like family. I recommend any of their dishes. I usually get the best box of the day, or the sashimi sampler. Would give 10 stars if possible.

とともおいしいですね. The sushi was legit and Im a snob when it comes to sushi, they import the Uni from japan so its a darker orange than the yellow tone sushi off the California coast and everything was fresh.

Angel Fish is an authentic Japanese restaurant with great sushi and dishes. There arent many real Japanese restaurants in East Bay, and this has been one of my favorite for years.
