What. Was. THAT?!?! We used to live in the neighborhood and eat at Ginza about once a week. We got friendly with the sushi chefs. We fell in love with the American Dream roll. When we visited other sushi restaurants, we would explain this roll, eat their version, and always say Ginza was better. When visitors or new comers would ask where the best sushi in Seattle was, wed tell em to cross the bridge for Ginza. Until tonight. We live far away now, but made it by 9:20, hoping to miss the rush. We waited for about 20 minutes and there were many tables open waiting to be cleared. We gave our order right away, only to wait about 30 minutes. At this time, the server said the chefs had shut down the bar without doing our order. She then brought us a seaweed salad. We assumed this was comp for the inconvience or sympathy for our hunger. About 15 minutes later our two American Dream rolls arrived. They were beyond disappointing. They were sloppy both in presentation and in flavor. So salty and blobby. When we didnt get our Ocean Roll, we decided not to say anything but make sure we werent billed. It turns out the server gave us the Ocean salad, not the roll we asked for. No comp. Also, I found a hair in the wasabi. Our server appologized for that, but we were so grossed out by the overall lack of quality and cleanliness that I couldnt finish my food. What a disappointment. I was shocked that Ginza would be so disrespectful to their guests. Wasnt worth the drive and a huge waste of money. Im sad that my favorite sushi restaurant has just given me one of my worst dining experiences. What happened?

My husband and I went to Ginza for date night sushi. Unfortunately, I am unable to fully comment on the food. After waiting for nearly 1 hour and 15 minutes we had to leave after the people who were sitting next to us, who had only been there for 20 minutes, were served :( We had simply placed our order, requested a few drinks, and patiently waited as we were finally out with each other and without the kids. They did stop by and give some apologies for the delay and gave us some complimentary edamame - after the 1 hour mark - but then proceeded to serve the people next to us. They may have been friends or family of the owners, but I still think it was in very poor taste on their behalf. We left and went to Cantinetta, explained the situation, and were immediately seated and served. It is unfortunate as we had a "dinner and a show" plan and had a late dinner and missed our show, which happens in life, but there was little effort on Ginzas behalf to make amends. I feel that this approach to customer care will probably change over time as one can not remain on Main Street with the other high quality restaurants and continue to offer very substandard service. With gems like Monsoon East, Bis on Main, Gilberts and Cantinetta on the same strip I can simply say that I will never attempt to go to Ginzas again - having never eaten fully eaten there to begin with.

A large piece of fish sits before, and you know that it’s screaming for you to eat it, because it’s a nice place, a happy confluence of events. To be said, this place gets busy, but if you aren’t a party of 3 or more, you should be expected to be seated pretty reasonably, about 5-40 minutes, during dinner hour. So the food, yummy bits of glory, here the portions are what you expect, nice and perhaps even more then plenty? Not really bits, more like chunks of fish are on the platter. If you thought the economy has taken a turn for the worst, you should be mistaken, rather you are mistaken, because this place not only has tons of customers of a Wednesday afternoon, they are all out enjoying Japanese American Sushi. Here’s the kicker, for a place embedded in Bellevue, you get a nice taste of Asia. There are more daring items, things you wouldn’t only find in international districts and Chinatowns. I will let you find out what I mean, when you go. So here’s the run down, good solid food, at reasonable prices; dinner time, means a little wait, bit hey, you will find that when you want great customer service, oh they have that here also.

Delicious sushi that is fresh and prepared perfectly. A lot of people get rolls when they come to a Japanese sushi place, but I say skip the rolls and go for the sashimi. The Chefs choice is always good. They also have delicious Asari Ramen that has a light clam broth and great Nabeyaki Udon that is the perfect size for 2. The Pumpkin Fried Rice is also a must try if you have never been here before. The two things that can be annoying about this place is that getting a table can be a challenge if you go in through the street entrance since the host isnt as organized there. I have had it where people who came after us snatched our spot in line because the host wasnt paying attention and seated them first. I recommend getting a table from the main entrance near their parking lot since the head host is usually there and is always on top of things. The other annoyance is parking. The lot is very small, but you can usually find free street parking on the other side of the block, or park at rhe local park and walk to the restaurant.

Pros: The food was decent and fresh. They have a lot of fancy "waygu" beef. It wasnt too busy, but reservations are recommended. Their "busboy" was in charge of refilling drinks and did a wonderful job. Cons: The rest of the staff is trash. No hostess to greet you. I waited as three members of their wait team stared and ignored me for two minutes before being acknowledged. (I had reservations already) We ordered food and drinks came out 20 minutes after our food did. The burner was cool and we had to call the staff over four times until finally being moved to a new table. Our food sat raw on our table for 45 minutes until we could finally get heat to cook it. Zero attempts by management to fix their mistake. Bottom line: For the price, service was abysmal by the majority of the staff. 0/10 would not come again. Will not recommend.

Ginza is one of my favorite restaurants in the Seattle area. The food and sushi is always good and is a my top date spot! The service however is something to be improved. If you made a reservation, they will refuse to seat you and make you wait until your whole group has arrived. This means waiting outside if the 2-4 person waiting area is full, which it usually is. This was really unacceptable when they made my 88 year old grandma stand outside in the rain because I was running a few minutes late. Other than that and outrageous $9 Large Beers, this is a great place to eat, I highly recommend their house salad, teriyaki beef dinner box, miso soup and Ebi!

One of the best restaurants in Seattle/Bellevue! The owner is the sweetest, and gives a lot back to the community! =) We had a celebration and thank you dinner for the organizers who put on the free Mothers Dinner for low income Chinatown Seniors! And of course we had to go to Ginza! And the food and atmosphere was just perfect. We were in the beautiful Japanese Room in the front, and we could even close the door when everyone got too festive/loud. ; ) The food was both beautiful and unique, and very mouthwatering! We had a perfect time. :) Thank you Ginza!
