A hidden oasis of good food and great service. Upon my first visit to Geisha, I couldnt tell where it was. It is on the second floor of a two story building with an ice cream shop below, but upon climbing those stairs and walking inside I was amazed. The decor is excellent. It stays modern and beautiful without being gaudy and out-of-place. The lighting is enough to read by, and you can peek out the window to get a beautiful view of the Capitola Boardwalk. The food is nothing short of amazing. I had previously visited Sushi Garden and ordered their Sukiyaki, only to be disappointed by its blandness, while Geishas Sukiyaki is perfectly cooked, beautifully organized, and has a smell that wafts warmly throughout the room. Their tea menu is extensive, and there are enough choices for everyone to find something they enjoy. The sushi bar is the same, and everything tastes wonderfully fresh. In many sushi restaurants you will smell the telltale fish smell through the restaurant, a very bad sign, but here it is absolutely nowhere. I visit whenever I get the time (and can find the parking).

Always have heard great things about Geisha and was excited to try it, especially since they pride themselves on sustainability. When we arrived restaurant appeared very dirty, no music on, not very busy--not sure how this is ever described as romantic. Waited by front door for about ten minutes without being acknowledged, not even by sushi chefs. Watched sushi chef handling and plating fish--looked terrible! So we left without sitting down.

We absolutely love it here. The sushi is delicious, one of the only places you can actually taste everything that is described. The prices are fair and the staff is just wonderful. Parking is tight during the summer but its a short walk from our house which is nice. I would definitely recommend it.

Delicious food and drinks but man, the service we experienced here was horrible. One star for the service, five stars for the food (unique and delicious). I am hoping the bad service was a fluke and will be back to try it again because the food was THAT good.

My favorite Sushi restaurant in Santa Cruz for over 6yrs. Try the Satan Roll if your in a large group or get a couple pieces. It is super spicy but fun to try and actually delicious. The lemon drop is my favorite along with the seafood cream appetizer.

This is our favorite sushi restaurant in Santa Cruz. We cant stop coming back. All of their fish is sustainable and the food is high quality. I still havent found a sushi restaurant that compares around here!

Amazing vegetarian and vegan options, including some spotlight chef specials. Very accommodating of various dietary restrictions. There is always something for everyone here. Best to come early.

Lots of vegetarian (and fish) sushi options! Nice atmosphere-not too fancy but nice enough to have a business lunch. Beautiful view as the restaurant is on the 2nd floor next to the ocean.
