Bad service and bad bland food. What else is needed to be said. We were excited since the restaurant was packed. Steak was chewy, there was no sauce on our burrito, and filled with fluff (mushrooms). I asked for no beans since I cant stand refried beans and they still came on the plate. The server never came back to ask if everything was ok so we just left the beans on the table so he would know. Then when we mentioned it he said well why didnt you say anything when I came by and asked if everything was good.... because you never came back. And not to mention we waited for a good 45 minutes to get our terrible food. I wouldnt come back and wouldnt recommend them to anyone.

Chile Rellenos was overcooked and soggy. Shouldnt be prepared and served the way it is. Avoid breaded food here. Tamale was good and burrito was decent, but again, they suffer from soggy tortillas. Not sure why, but everything ups being a soggy mush if you dont eat it quickly. Flavor is good, but nothing spectacular because the soggy tortillas takes away from the flavor. Good prices on alcohol. Pitcher of margaritas, three adults, one kid, and we left for under $70. Great customer service and exceeded expectations there. They kind of "overdo" their plates with too much stuffing and toppings, at least in my opinion.

Not sure I understand the anonymous negative reviews, but to each their own. We like this place. Pork dishes are excellent and Margaritas are best on town. The Cortez location is the best Mexican place in town in my opinion. UPDATE - 2014 ++++ Seems to be nearly 100% turnover after years with the same staff. Prices have steadily crept making this hard to classify as a place with good, cheap, Mexican food. The last two visits the frozen margarita machine was broken. Downgraded to 4 stars - good, but but the value it once was.

Great food!! What pretty Mexican restaurant and super colorful. The chips an salsa were fresh and delish!! We ordered a large guacamole dip and it was good but couldve used a little more lime. My daughter had 3 beef tacos that were quite full and tasty. Hubby had 2 enchiladas and a toastada that he said very flavorful and a cheese chili relleno that was amazing! The sauce on it was perfect! I had the Cali burrito and it was huge and DELISH!! Service was great too. My only complaint was it was really hot in there.

I have eaten Mexican food throughout Mexico, all over the USA, in Europe, Asia, and darned near everywhere else. Their Margaritas are the very best. Their food is really good also. I have been going there at least once a month for all the years they have been open. In my hundreds of visits there, I may have had one negativve experience. Cant say that for many places. Staff is efficient and friendly.

I cannot believe all the positive reviews of this restaurant. We went their yesterday based on the high marks. The food was all very bland and undercooked. Quesadillas were limp and the cheese wasnt even melted. Flautas were also limp instead of crunchy, and the fillings were awful! The service was impolite and inept. Dont waste your money!!

Good food! Excellent, interesting selection - not just the same old-same old stuff you find at most Mexican restaurants. Full bar. Be sure to try a "Marona" - a margarita with a small bottle of Corona - upside down in the glass! The salsa is OK - better when you add some habanero hot sauce!

Nothing tastes good. Rice blah beans... like was scooped from a can. Tamales all corn, you need a microscope to see the meat. Meat had very bad taste. I sent back the Tamales. They sent out 2 shredded beef tacos that also had a bad taste. The waitress was very good

Went to eat their today, as soon as I walked in atmosphere was very pleasant. My waitress was very kind & patient. My food was very beautiful & delicious, & for the price I got a lot of food. I also had a very good drink. I will return to Mr. Tequila Mexican Restaurant.

Ive been eating at this restaurant for 15 years and the food is out of this world! Very authentic, good service, but over the years the portions have gotten smaller and the prices have went up too high. Regardless, this is and always will be my go-to Mexican restaurant

Slow service, waiter was inattentive and caused us to spend money on an extra shot of tequila in my margaritas, chips were cold, salsa was so so and the floor under our table was coated with something so sticky my shoes stuck to the floor! Food was just ok.

The food was delicious & seemed to be authentic Mexican. The inside of the business had a good Mexican atmosphere & authentic look. The salsa was not canned salsa or from a jar. The prices were very reasonable. We would definitely come back to this place

I was there last night with my hubby & children. We are definately going to return! The Decore was awesome. The Service was excellent & the food was nice & fresh! Price was good too! I cant complain what so ever! A++++ from us! 6/26/13

Ordered takeout from the Cortez location. Guy on the phone was really helpful while I decided what to order. The tamales were fantastic. Ordered 2 with fries. Was enough to feed my husband and I plus leftovers to snack on later.

Terrible! Bland and tasteless, greasy, girlfriend found hairs in her food. Margaritas are $12 each. We both got sick afterwards. Two plates of food and 4 drinks was $75 and for this filth? Dont even eat here! Never again!

I have never had a bad experience here, and I come here all the time. This is no sh***y taco bell, it is legitimate Mexican food at a fantastic price. Quick and efficient service, too. Couldnt ask for anything more.

Really should make sure the person taking to go orders knows the menu. Asked for shredded beef got ground beef yuck, no tortillas with the fajitas...yuck...no rice and beans with the flautas delux. Not cool

Extremely authentic Mexican food. The chips and salsa are all made in house. The atmosphere really sets the mood. Servers are all very friendly and attentive. You will come back for more! Kid friendly

If I could give it 10 stars, I would. If you are hungry for Mexican, do not go anywhere else. This is definitely one of our favorite authentic Mexican restaurants in the Sarasota/Bradenton area!

Dine often for $9.99 Fajitas and happy hour beer and Margaritas on Thursday nite. Go often and always get fast frindly service and great chicken or beef fajitaas with endless salsa and chips.

The owner is a drug dealer they once raided the place and put everyone down on the ground at gun point my kids were terrified i recommend eating at los cabos in 41 better food better service
