I love Tastee Taco but this location has the rudest employees! We came into this establishment an hour before closing and they had most of the chairs put up on the tables. The tables left to sit were filthy. We took the chairs off one table and the counter guy raged on us and flipped us a bunch of grief and was very rude. We wanted a refund so they didnt spit in our food. The refund was never given back to us. I will return to the other location but the Ankeny location will not see my money again. The owners need to do a coaching session to their employees on the value of their customers. I was very disappointed. Mr. Sweat-pants-and-glasses who acted like he was the manager should be dismissed. He is poor spokes person for your business. I have been eating at Tastee Taco for years, but I refuse to be treated in this way.

This place was kinda odd. There were options for corn and flour tacos. Dont expect a corn tortilla if you order a corn taco.....youre actually getting a hard shell taco. And the flour tacos? They are really puffy & doughy. My son took one bite and left the rest....and he LOVES tacos. The "original" is a bean & beef mix. Not very flavorful. I had to douse it with 3 packets of the only taco sauce they had: Heinz Mild. The steak & the pork were tasty though. I think that if not for the tortillas, the place would have been better. We ordered nachos. I expected toppings, but it was just like a movie theater: a plastic container of chips with a side of cheese. Very un-authentic. I wouldnt recommend.

Our party of 7 arrived at this location at 9:30pm on a Tuesday evening and were told that the dining room was closed, but we could get it to go. The times listed on the door, and my experience at other locations, do not indicate this. As we were in town for a sporting event, to go was not an option. We elected for another restaurant in the area as we had no place to take tacos to go. I frequent other locations about once a week and disappointed that we had a negative experience here. I have no issues if that is a policy, but then post it on the door for all to see. I get the feeling that the employees were ready to be done for the day and decided to wrap up early.

Drove from Iowa City and made it to this location 15 minutes before closing. All the doors were locked with open sign on. We knocked on the door just to check and a male working was extremely rude. Literally just said "were closed" twice and shut the door in our face. Its one thing to be like "sorry guys we had a slow night and decided to close early." But he blatantly meant to be rude. As we were leaving he mocked us by waiving goodbye. What an employee...

This Tasty Tacos is great. Clean store and great food. If youve never had a flour taco you are missing out. These arent hard shell tacos, they also arent soft-shell tacos... Theyre flour. Stuffed with meat and beans folded inside a flour shell then deep fried to a nice golden brown.

Took the family in last night. 9/1/16 We all woke up around 2am with vomiting and diarrhea! Unfortunately this will be the last time i drop $1 let alone $50 for their food. Sorely disappointed ! Not to mention I have to give 1 star just so i can POST if i could id jive negative stars

11/19 /16 This is the last time we eat here .Been 3 times in 2 months with flour tacos to go each time with dried out chunks of black beef mixed in and chunks are hard .Told them today I wanted fresh and received the same thing. Dont waste your money!

Fast, friendly service. Chicken Tacos were good...Beef was kind of disappointing. Not horrible...but not great either. Restaurant was clean and there were lots of people eating which is a good sign. Maybe we caught them on a bad day.

We got the chicken tacos and a bean burrito. Chicken tacos were good even on flour tortillas. The bean burrito was a bit watery but the beans tasted fresh. I might go back. Definitely good for after a night of drinking
