Not great for vegetarians. Vegetable Roll is some weird crunchy mess. Gyoza are chicken and veggies. Avocado maki listed on website menu are not on in house menu. No substitutions - Id hoped the vegetable tempura (which came with a teeny tiny tempura sauce cup) could be mainly broccoli and onions, but they just said no, which tells me its presorted and frozen prior to serving. Vegetable udon was great. Waitress was short tempered and rushed us through at 6pm in an empty restaurant. Not a fun experience. Higher prices than 90% of Japanese restaurants Ive eaten at. Flies EVERYWHERE in winter, at night. They must be coming from somewhere inside.

Best salmon teriyaki Ive had. $17 May 2017 for 3 choice Bento box, added excellent gyosi, best ever crunchy tempura that has chewy Japanese yams and generous portion. Mochi very good. Excellent to bring kids as there is patio, alley and stairs next to back indoor tables.

Best sushi on the peninsula! The Mushi Roll is a local favorite but you cant go wrong. Masterfully cut fish and the selection of non-sushi entrees (and sake!) is excellent! Centrally located in Carmel, lots of parking. Lively patrons and great staff.

Musashi, the chef, was excellent! The sushi was on point and delicious! Hidden gem of Carmel. Walked back on the wrong street and peeked in, had to try it. Definetly going back!

Horrible! Teriyaki chicken with a teaspoon of sauce...gag! Worst food ever! Goyza is frozen crap fried in old oil! Shrimp tempura without sauce. Geezzzz. Save your money

The best sushi in Carmel by the Sea. The staff is friendly and extremely hospitable. Sit at the bar and watch the staff prepare your food right in front of you.

Small place to dine which means that there are few tables. Overall food was good. Service was decent. Doesnt accept Amex so take a Visa or MC
