A frustrating experience. My husband and I happened to be in the area with our grandfather and decided to stop in for a meal. Ive been to a few Olive Gardens at this point, but Im sad to say that after this experience I would never go again. The meal itself was of average Olive Garden quality, but the service left much to be desired. We came in on a Tuesday at 2:40 pm, which is a slow time for restaurants. I have to be precise about the time here because theyre currently having a 3pm - 5pm special. We got started with drinks, but refrained from ordering until 3pm for the deals. Come time to pay, they had charged us full price for all of the meals. We made an inquiry with our waiter and he informed us that we had ordered at 2:48pm and were therefore not eligible for the specials. Although he will deny it to the end of time, we got screwed because he put in our drink order (2 waters and an iced tea) at 2:48pm which made ordering our food later meaningless. His supervisor proceeds to tell us theres not a thing they can do because the system wont allow them to give specials until that 3pm - 5pm time frame. Having worked in the food industry, I thought that they could void the bill and rering the order as it is now 4pm. No dice. Being a thorough person, I had to check the bill as it was a full $25 more than expected. As I suspected, the waiter had entered in a chocolate mousse desert (either by accident or on purpose) which we did not order and overcharged my specific entree of Ravioli di Portebello. The normal cost of the dish is $15.49, however the dish is on special before 3pm for $9.99 and on special from 3pm -5pm for $8.99. He charged me full price. We bring up both discrepancies to our waiter and he tries to fix it. A higher manager of course had to void the price and came to our table to apologize about the confusion and that he had adjusted all of the prices and that they will tell employees to wait to enter meals next time. It was a very brief and somewhat lazy apology. He must have had better things to do. Unfortunately, our bill was still incorrect. It was still $8 over expectations. My husband, being the little cat he is, thought we were "causing too trouble" and wanted to get the hell our of there. He left an absurdly generous tip (20%) and leaves. It just seemed that they couldnt get it right. Having ruined my day, I had to vent but leaving this review. ps. always check your bill

Was greeted haphazardly by two bickering employees. Quickly sat at a table with little concern. Our server arrived at our table quite a while after we were seated, despite the restaurant not appearing busy. Everything from the drink refills to the bread and salad were delayed. Taste wise food was consistent with Olive Gardens usual quality, which is a good thing. However, things took a turn for the worst Olive Garden experience Ive ever had once the bill came. Upon trying to pay with two gift cards, which are valid at any Darden restaurant (Olive Garden is one), we were told that the gift cards werent acceptable because Olive Garden is, quote, "no longer a Darden restaurant". My card was charged without informing me of this first. I used my phone to quickly determine this was a lie and upon speaking to the manager it was revealed that yes, they were a Darden restaurant and our server had told us a bold faced lie! Whether it was laziness, lack of concern or malicious intent I was flabbergasted. While the was adequately apologetic, there was no offer for compensation, a free dessert or anything above and beyond that such an egregious mishap would predicate. While Ive enjoyed many Olive Garden experiences at other locations, this is one I wont be returning to. They require corporate attention.

My husband and I went to this Olive Garden the other day, we had just pulled in a minute behind another couple. When we walked through the doors there was a young woman at the counter that did not greet us till we were directly in front of her... she then proceeded to tell us that it would be just a minute before we would be seated. (The couple prior was not seen-- aparently they had already been seated)... My husband went to the restroom and returned, when he came out the girl walked away and I thought that she went to prepare a table. Just then some friends walked in of one of the workers and they talked. I poked around the corner to see half the resturant empty!!! I then asked another gentleman what the hold up was? he offered us to sit in the cafe (for a second time) I again said no thanks. But what are we waiting for... he told me it was a shift change and we were waiting for the new servers to come on board. I have worked in resturants before and this is the most outlandish excuse I have ever heard... I believe it would make sense to hire much more sensible workers!!!! We walked out. And went to another Olive Garden where we were greeted immediatley. For the record it was very busy and we polietly waited for other patrions ahed of us to be seated.

This is the second attempt that I never thought I would give the Olive Garden in Dearborn. First off it was Sunday at about 1:00 in the afternoon and I went with my wife and kids. Told there would be a 15 minute wait. I searched the restaurant and over half the restaurant was empty. After 30 minutes and when numerous people went ahead of us to eat, I confronted a female manager with red hair. She was extremely rude and said that becaue I needed a high chair it would be a longer wait for me. I mean come on, you ever have an 8 month old in a restaurant, and making me wait longer than anyone. She then rudly asked me where I can put a high chair..I walked around the restaurant where there were over 30 empty tables and supposedly every one was reserved. She was totally rude. I walked out. The other time I ate there food was bad, never got refills on bread, salad or rolls in a timely fashion.

Have been to this Olive Garden 4 or 5 times. Every single time we have received horrible service. I generally dont come here for lunch if I have to get back to work by a certain time because lunch here takes about 2 hours (servers take about 20 minutes to return to the table after the 20 minutes you wait to be greeted). If I ever order a drink the bar makes, I can expect it to arrive after I receive my food (no fault of the bartender; I see my cappuccino just sitting there, then it comes to the table cold, then I am told "it doesnt come with coffee" when I ask for coffee to warm it up). I usually go in around 11am (when they open) so they cant use being slammed as an excuse. Food comes to the table with a film over it because it has sat in the window for 20 minutes (really? they didnt even care to make the effort to at least stir it up before bringing it out?) Will not eat here again.
