I usually come here with .you wife and kids. Today I came in the lady said can you wait 45 mins...Im like okay...then I was like can I order some appetizers, then I said want some prawns...took them about 40 mins....then I was like we ready to order out meals My wife wanted to order some black noodles ..the lady said sorry we are out of noodle dishes...like about have them menu has noodle dishes...at that point I was done...then she like wait one min..she like u can order noodle dishes.. We got our meals...was the worst that tasted ever ...the sweet and sour chicken was dry and overcooked..the noodles that came with my lunch combo was not seasoned right...the egg rolls tasted horrid ,and my wifes black paste noodles didnt taste too well. I was paying at the register I asked her what on earth is going on ..she said that they only had one cook today and were shutting down for the day Before that they were shut down for a few weeks cause when we got there they had new updated menus and seemed like they had new ownership..they told me please come back again in a few weeks Think Im done with this place ..might give them a chance in a few months.. Who knows. Give this 0/5 star rating

Bear with me here, because this is actually going to be a positive review: Royal Box may be a little daunting at first, because the decor is dated, everything seems a little sticky or grubby, and the dishes are often mismatched. If this is the sort of thing thats a deal-breaker for you, you may want to try elsewhere. However, if youre just looking for an inexpensive, hearty meal of decent Chinese/Korean food, youve hit the jackpot. The prices are amazingly cheap. Im not sure why its listed as a $$ restaurant. A lot of the entrees are $6 for a large plate. We could absolutely stuff ourselves for under $20 (including 20% tip). Recommendations: The hot and sour soup is great. An order is about $2.50, but its a MASSIVE bowl. Easily enough for an entree or for two. Or three. Their eggrolls are also just huge - two to a serving, and are really delicious. In short, they have good food and great prices if you can get past the dingy exterior.

I ordered the Lemon chicken with egg rolls.......the chicken was soggy and if it were not for the few slices of lemons there would have been literally no flavor. The egg rolls were the same.....soggy. The worst part was when I requested hot mustard for the egg rolls and all the cook did was give me a container with Beaver Brand Hot Mustard.....I stood there and watched as the cook, I wont use the word chef, simply squeezed it out of the container. in addition, I was not even able to leave a complete review......In short if you are looking for soggy, flavorless food, that is more expensive than Safeway or Panda Express, then this is the place for you. if you want to go somewhere great then I suggest Flying Fish in North Tacoma.

Went to this place during my lunch break with a few coworkers. One of them recommended it and had been a customer for years. Ordered the lunch special: honey walnut chicken with fried rice and a pot sticker for $8 and some change. Was definitely impressed; great flavors from the chicken and the fried rice was on point. Usually I am able to finish a meal, but this had me STUFFED. The meal also came with a small serving of egg drop soup which was wonderful with minimalist style seasoning (helping the consumer to fully get the egg flavor). Overall, great experience. The only reason I didnt give them 5 stars is the location. I never wouldve looked for a place to eat here if it wasnt for my coworker. Definitely will go again.

Yo this place at 11:00 am to 2:30 pm(lunch hour special) serves your choice of chicken + rice for *drum roll* ...$2.99!! Exact amount is $3.30 with tax included. And boy is it worth it. Although the service there is not that top notch, if you want to refill your water, your probably gonna have to do it yourself. The variety of food here is adequate, but Id advise you to stick to the lunch hour specials. My top choices would be the Honey Walnut and the Sweet and Sour Chicken. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT GET THE BREADED ALMOND CHICKEN, that dish will ruin your taste buds for at least a week.

I posted on this a year ago and things have changed. Yes they painted and cleaned it up ALITTLE. But different people working there and prices have went up alot. Food is about the same but portions have got ALOT smaller. Not as friendly, less food and higher prices. I use to go there atleast once a week for lunch. Now I only go when no other place sounds good. I ate there for years and would recommend it to customers of mine. Now I tell them of other places and tell them to avoid the royal box. Must be new owners or something. Find someplace else to eat.

I have been going here for YEARS, always had great food for cheap, with huge portions. Recently the old owners sold the business. I tried the food the first time today since and its just not good. The food is completely different. I ordered Mongolian beef and immediately when I opened my to go box I could see such a difference. Where the portions are usually huge this one was basically all onions/ green onions and a little bit of meat. There was parts of my rice that wasnt even cooked all the way! I dont see them staying open much longer :(

My mom and I used to go here regularly prior to the change in management. Their food used to taste authentic and they were generous with banchan. Today, we stopped by and ordered jajangmyeon and kkanpunggi and to be perfectly honest it was terrible. The chicken was basically KFC smothered in sweet and sour (ick) and the jajangmyeon tasted way off, almost flavorless. The service was fantastic and the decor is lovely, but the food has gone the way of Panda Express. If thats your jam, then this place will be great for you.

I do reviews on restaurants when its new for me and even though Chinese food isnt new, the place where I got it is. I have had Asian from several different countries from across the globe and though this doesnt rank up there with some places I have been to, its not bad either The portions are large and prices reasonable comparing to other places Ive been to. Great service Clean establishment Good was very good and filing. Definitely recommend to people who are passing thru and want to stop for Chinese

Service was quick and attentive. General Taos Chicken was good with a kiss of spiciness. Vegetable fried rice was good though a little overly oily. Crab rangoon was differently shaped and a bit light on the filling. Portions were so large that I was able to eat this meal for 3 meals. Beer and other drinks were available by the bottle in a display fridge, with no apparent drink menu. Spacious seating area with plenty of room for one, a few, or many. Quiet dining room.
