I am a tourist from China that visited Providence. When I was walking around town I noticed this dinner. It was something that I never saw before so I went in and ordered a hotdog. After that, I asked the owner (?) will it be alright for me to take some photos of the store. Her answer? She actually threaten to break my camera! Other people in the store started laughing so I just left. I asked the question as politely as possible and didnt do anything that might be consider offensive at all. Even now I still dont understand the reason why I received such treatment. The hotdog I ordered was tasty and the price was reasonable. But nothing really special or unique. The reason I didnt gave the restaurant a one star is just because I though other tourist might find it interesting and will want to try it. But other then that I dont have any other nice thing to say about it.

You have to love this place, you just have to. Forget about all the publicity and Food Network visits. This place was here for decades before that noise, and will be here long after theyre gone. A little silver trolley car parked by City Hall, open all night, serving outstanding burgers, dogs, fries, club sandwiches, and some of the best milk shakes youve tasted. Attracts a wildly diverse clientele.

I saw the double murder burger on tv. It looked so good and big. I get to the diner and a few problems that I experienced: 1) the food was overpriced 2) my burger looked like something from McDonalds. I ended up getting the rodeo burger and only got one small onion ring. 3) $5 for a thing of French fries which had no flavor. I will not be going back.

When your half in the bag - or more - at 2 a.m. and want something to eat this is a Providence institution and about the only place to go downtown at that hour. Its been there forever and everybody knows the place. If youre looking for food that you would actually go out of your way to eat well...I wouldnt.

Last night we left a wedding reception...stopped at Haven Brothers for a tasty bite to eat and accidently left our cell phone. Half way home to Newport realized we left the cell phone there. Called it and the owner picked up! Thank you so much for your kindness...We truly appreciate it!

Do not eat the food sober because the burgers are horrible! Only drunk college students would think the food is edible. So, the Zagat food critic that gave this Diner stars must have been drunk!!! I wish I had two more hands so I can give this dump four thumbs down.

Unappetizing and overpriced food at their food truck. 6 dollars for 6 onion rings? The chicken in the chicken wrap was very soft and I strongly suspect that it gave me food poisoning. Think twice before spending your money here, plenty of better food trucks.

A regular sized burger, onion rings, and a small shake was $23.50. The food was mediocre at best and the milkshake was just vanilla ice cream and flavored syrup with a little bit of milk. They get an extra star because the service was pretty fast.

I wont complain about the food, because if youre going to a place like this you know what youre in for. No, I give two stars because i had to touch that greasy unwashed door handle in the freezing cold. Cold grease.....nice. soap wouldnt hurt

This late night institution sets up pretty much every night next to Providence City Hall on Fulton St, just off the intersection with Dorrance (this map shows it on Dorrance, from where you can probably see the neon signs anyway)

False advertising by Andrew Zimmern. The food portions are the size of a happy meal including the fries .with a $23 dollar bill at the end. The food has no taste please save your money.

Good food, history, and service. Food was quick and delicious. It is even open until 4AM! Overall, Haven brothers deserves a solid 5/5 definitely coming back with the kids.
