They are a first class racist at this diner. I went there to have a breakfast on my day off just to start my day with a nice food. surprisingly to me on getting there, I was getting all sort of nasty looking from the employees one even made fun of my accent. When the food finally came, to my biggest surprise, the home fries was just crumbs and bunch of burnt eggs and of course I expressed my dissatisfaction but what happened next was most embarrassing moment of my life. Their cook came from no where, "we have nothing else to offer you". He took the food away from me and put it in a trash right in front of me and tell me "You are no longer welcome at this diner". I have no grudges against them but I strongly believe one day they will change their philosophy about life and treat everyone equally irrespective of their color, cultural background, accent or where they are from. Love win!!!

The Wheelhouse is a diner, not a restaurant flaunting itself in diner style. It caters to the working-class locals, for example by staying open through the late shift on weekends. Waitresses and bartenders, construction workers, nurses, cops and fire fighters - they all crowd the place and fill it with their banter, and their tired or meditative silence. They read the local papers over their steaming eggs and sausage. The cooks and waitresses serve up standard American fare at breakneck speed. They are friendly but no-nonsense. A couple of the waitresses regularly sing along, not unpleasantly, with the radio, which they play loud - usually classic rock or nineties alternative from the Emerson College station. The place is clean and utilitarian, the food cheap and fresh and traditional. If this is what you like in a diner, you wont find a better example. Quintessential.

Love this local diner!!!! One of my top favorite breakfast places! I love coming here for their Portuguese Steak Breakfasts. Always prepared the way I like and with a slab of juicy ham and eggs on top, its the best way to have a steak in the morning. The cook and the staff are always so friendly and nice. Sometimes all their seats are taken but this place is worth the wait! Great food, big portions, and even better prices!

Combat Veteran Mistreated. I went for breakfast and sat at a booth. The waitress said since there was only one in my party that I had to sit at the bar on a stool. I told her I was a disabled veteran with a back injury and that I couldnt sit on a stool. She said I still had to sit at the bar and if two people came in she would have to make me move from the booth. I left.

Stay well away, Ive been unlucky enough to eat there twice , I got the so called Irish breakfast. Should be re named the burnt breakfast... all the food bar the eggs where burnt to a crisp and cooked in a deep fat fryer even the black and white pudding. If I wasnt with a few people I would have refused the food and walked out... staff were a bunch of space cakes..

The BEST homemade Corned Beef Hash around! During peak hours you may have to wait for one of the very few (6 booths, I think + counter seating) but the Staff at the Wheel House flip the tables rather quickly. So, considering the limited seating, you really dont wait that long at all. The longest weve ever waited was 5-7 minutes.....But well worth the wait!!

in response to brian zimmermans review: the place may have that quintessential diner atmosphere but that doesnt excuse the fact that the food is bland. "catering to working-class locals" isnt an excuse not to season your food. while youre off daydreaming about boinking the singing waitress the rest of us have been served an overpriced unseasoned mess.

I think its pretty safe to say that Wheelhouse is in the top 3 places for breakfast in Quincy area. The food is great! Its very much a diner so coking is done right in front of you. The servers are always welcoming, and the prices are unbeatable. I have been going there every so often for about 3 years and I love it!

Been coming here for over 5 years. When my son was born I took him. Many early mornings, sometimes 4am, with a baby and a JW Omlet, so myou wife could sleep. The people are awesome, often singing to the classic rock on the radio. My son and I still come here for breakfast.

There wasnt one thing I liked out of 5 items. The burgers were over cooked and charred the hash had no flavor other then charred. Sunny side eggs up wouldnt even break and the fries were cold and old. All in all everything was terrible and Ill never be back.
