I do not understand the love for this place. Nothing about it is authentic or even remotely delicious. The guacamole is comically bland. It basically just tasted like mushy starch with some watery tomatoes thrown in. The fried plantains were also very bland and wholly unpleasant to eat. The adobo (wat?) tacos just tasted of pure vinegar. It was extremely unpleasant, expensive, and not at all worth eating. They dont even make their own salsa. When you ask for salsa, they just bring you a hipster 6-pack of hot sauces made from various chilis. This isnt Mexican food. I dont know what kind of food it is, frankly. Its just "Trendy Hipster Food That Costs Too Much For What It Is". And truthfully, I dont know why youd ever eat here. Severely disappointing. Sorry, but it is.

This is an easy review because this place is the bomb. It does not hurt that the mimosas are bottomless but that is not even the best part. All of the flavors are fantastic (we tried them all) and most are from freshly pulped or squeezed juice. The taste is far superior to orange juice concentrate and made for a great start. Next, is the food. Not your typical Seattle/Mexican. The owner traveled South of the Border (ala Rick Bayless) and collected recipes and flavors to use in his inspired food. One our favorites was the sweet potato hash. It was fantastic. Lets just say we were not disappointed in the food, the service, or anything else about Mission Cantina. We had a great time and we will be back. I think we will do a Taco Tuesday next time.

1 star because 0 is not an option!!!! It took an hour to settle the bill. We were not told that there was an 18% gratuity tacked on for 6 or more. One of our party needed to leave and the entire bill was brought to us with the statement about 18% written in. Waitress Lauren was very abrasive when asked to split the check so our one person could leave. Worst service I have ever experienced in my life. Not worth the time or stress involved!!!

Been in here quite a few times, but no longer. The food is really tasty, but service staff of bartender and waitress were horrible. Drinks are very very weak and slow to the table and food is about 30 to 45 min and has arrived to us cold on more then one occasion. We tried to give a second and third chance because the food is so good but the service is that you wish you could forget. Pros: Food and aesthetics Cons: ...everything else

The bartender, really rubbed me wrong. $3 for basic chips and salsa. The food, f*king epic. Serving sizes, good thing I had a big lunch. Atmosphere, deserves recognition. In short, Im not sure if Ill be back. Between the bartender and small portions the value is...suspect. With that being said, if you dont have a huge appetite the food is very good and solid quality.

Pretty good Mexican food in West Seattle! The black bean dip appetizer was amazing. I liked their pico de gallo as well - nice, uniform flavor with no one ingredient overshadowing the rest. The fajitas were very good, just not sizzling when they arrived at the table. They were good enough to eat cold the next day (no microwave in hotel...).

The food here is AMAZING for how cheap it is.... but every single time I have been here, I get the same bitchy waitress! I have NEVER seen her smile, and she is the rudest server I have ever had to deal with. They need to hire new serve staff!!! All I can figure is she must be sleeping with the manager.

I am vegetarian and found good options, very tasty too. I ordered the sweet papa hash which is delicious and it was the right portion size unlike other Latin or Mexican restaurants. Four of us including toddler ate here and we all enjoyed the food and service. I recommend the place.

Darkly lit with lanterns hanging from the ceiling, this restaurant features adventurous latin and Spanish food. All the dishes have a unique, and usually successful, twist. Friendly atmosphere although the scene changes to more of a tequila drinking crowd later in the evening.

The stuffed jalapeños were inedible. The Smoking Jacket $11 cocktail was undrinkable-literally tasted like a sweaty Jacket-and I didnt think they were going for a literal interpretation. The waitress took the jalapeños off the check which was nice but not redeeming.

Its really hit and miss... Some days the guacamole is amazing. Some days it tastes like it has extra lime juice to keep it from going bad... Some bartenders make amazing margaritas... Some put in a ton of syrupy sweet triple sec and ruin it... Good luck!

The Mexican Bulldog does not disappoint; a house margarita with a coronitas in it. Also rave reviews for spicy platain chips and guac as well as queso fundido and sweet potato tacos. The restaurant is beautiful, great colors and beautiful lighting.

These might be the best nachos Ive ever had. No gross nacho cheese sauce here and they make sure the toppings are spread throughout. I also think they have great drink selections. Dont forget bottomless mimosas on the weekends!

Our little neighborhood is growing up. If youre looking for a chic place for cocktails and a good happy hour, head to Mission. Try the steak tacos. Nosh on nachos or sweet pappas! Everything is delicious and just spicy enough.

Mission is a bit like Matador - but they are doing their own thing. The menu is simple, the atmosphere is great and the staff is usually friendly. My suggestion is to check out the late night happy hour and get the nachos!

Very good service, lovely staff. My only complaint is the food was a little too hot for me, even though I asked for mild. The server did tell me it would still be hot so thats fine. :) really enjoyed it

Amazing nachos!! This is the best place for some pre- or post-movie snacking when heading to the Admiral Theatre. I just wish that I liked tequila, as the selection on offer here is extensive!

Good food... Heard about it from a friend, loved it. If you want the tamales make sure you get there early because they sell out theyre so good. Only suggestion would be to get pina colodas!

Great food and delicious margaritas. Its pretty dark in there, so its a great place to meet with a local crooked sheriff and his bloodhound to discuss your moonshine running routes.

Good sit-down, casual mexican spot in the Admiral district. Highly recommend the late-night happy hour. Dont be fooled into thinking they serve lunch on a weekday though.

Great atmosphere, good menu. On most recent visit the food was served at a cool temperature and the bar service was indifferent. Disappointment from years past.
