I honestly cant believe there arent more bad reviews. The past year weve definitely noticed a decline in this place and this was our last straw, we wont be back again. After 4 bites of nasty nachoes (seriously how can you screw up nachoes?) I got a stomach ache. My margarita was pure syrup all the ice was melted. Atleast the green sauce was good but the chips tasted like cardboard I dont know why, did they change to whole grains and serving old chips?? And the service was well, where was our service we had to stop the other waitress for anything. Not to mention my son accidently spelt his drink and got all over the table, well it took like 3 mintues for the other waitress to walk by and ask if we wanted a rag, of course we do we used all the napkins but luckily it all stayed on the table. And I will warn anyone ordering food to go from here, dont do it and if you do double check your food before you pay, its worst then sitting in.

I feel like an idiot for not reading the reviews first. We just moved to Tacoma from Ca. This was the first mexican rest. weve been to and are disappointed to say the least. The food was good however the service sucked. It took forever for the waiter to take our drink order. we were on our second basket of chips. and he took the order of the people who came in after we did. The waiter tried to make it up to us by offering my wife a more expensive version of a margarita. Not at the same price though. The bus boy seemed like he was upset with us. I hope theres better mexican places than this here.

This dining establishment has made too many mistakes for us, and we are never going back. First, they gave my daughter a meet filled burrito (beef) when she specifically ordered a vegeterian one. She became very ill later, as she had taken a few bites before figuring it out. The waiter never apologized, or offered any compensation. Also, the bathrooms are beyond filthy. They say you can judge the cleanliness of the kitchen based on the care given to bathroom sanitation. Quite frightening to imagine what horrors exist in their kitchen/cooking area!

As a transplant from southern California, I consider my competence while judging Mexican food far superior to the local pallet. In my honest opinion, this establishment serves some of the finest and most authentic style food I have tasted. I cannot comment whether this was a single occurance, however the service this night matched the quality of the food. The waiter was very attentive and was able to keep up with our high demand for salsa and chips. At times bringing out four bowls at once. I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys Mexican food.

I have not ate here but hear about the place from a relative. Told they were rude, they treat people inside and outside the restaurant poorly and homeless people who are there to order not ask for a hand out are treated like 2nd class citizens. Get a clue, just because they are homeless doesnt mean they are penniless and they can buy their own food. I know i will not step foot in the place just because of what ive heard from friends and relatives.

El Toro can be hit or miss. The atmosphere is very charming, but the restaurant needs a deep cleaning which is hard to do if you are open all the time. The salsas were very mild. My son loved his Mondo Burrito and my daughters enchiladas were good. My husband was indifferent to his meal. I had the trio enchiladas and found the verde type to be outstanding, the chicken one so-so, and the third one had a mole type red-suace that I did not like at all.

Came in with a huge party of people, and even called ahead so they can seat us. Ordered several drinks from bar. When we went in the bar to get pull tabs for waited for 30 minutes!!!!!! When we came back to cash them in, he said we can wait because we won big enough! Was rude, and sure that we would wait so made us wait like crazy! We come here atleast once a week and this was HORRIBLE!

Great place for Mexican dishes in the area. Menu covers most of the standard dishes one would expect. Service is good and timely. Moderately priced and if I had a bone to pick, $2.99 for pico de gallo (salsa for chips) is well, actually expensive...good that pico goes with more than just chips so finish it up :) Medium size, looks good for small groups. Ample free parking available.

I came with my family and despite how many people they had to get to they were very fast paced and had good attitudes. The food however wasnt so good. I ordered a chIle relleno and it wuz rubbery and I found hair in my food and the meat in the tacos de pastor was burnt. If I could give the food a rate lower than 1 star I would. But I would rate the service a 4 star

Food was alright, the service was terrible! I could understand if it was busy, but there were few other patrons in the restaurant. The greeter was very nice however, just the waiter could have given us more napkins, asked what flavor dessert I wanted instead of assuming, and could have ya know, asked how everything was....

I have never had this poorly made a lunch and either has my husband. The soup was downright gross and my husbands pork in the cactus fajitas tasted gamey and chewy. Seriously. We paid 30.00 plus tip (because our waitress was nice), but will never ever ever eat there again. Save your stomach and go somewhere-anywhere-else.

First of all, the staff here are amazing. Always friendly and quick and attentive. Now, the food. Not so great. Ive eaten here several times and tried a variety of options from the menu. Everything is the same. Bland. I wish they were better but it is what it is.

Gaucamole dip was amazing! Probably the best Ive had very fresh. Service was great. Our dinner was discusting! I love Mexican but nothing about their food is good. Even the salsa was gross. Not too picky but I would never return or recommend this place.

Dont waste your money here. We spent $65 on fajitas, cheese dip, salsa, and 4 tacos. It was so gross, we couldnt eat it. I called the business and asked to take the food back. Yucky, yucky. Save your money and go somewhere else.

This place is nasty..!!! Last sunday that i went to eat we found a hair in the salad and the dish was dirty.. outside we saw rats..! Running around. I hate this place..!!
