I have been looking all over for a place that delivered to my area and when I finally did... it was FANTASTIC! This is probably the best Ameri-Japanese I have ever had. The Mongolian Beef is the perfect mix of sweet and spicy and the beef is absolutely tender! We also order Chicken Yakisoba and Kung Pao Chicken and they were equally delicious. Delivery was amazingly fast and the delivery person actually seemed shocked to get a tip (certainly put a smile on my face). I have eaten all over the Portland area and I have to say... this place is a must try (especially if you are within their delivery area)! Quick note of caution... after you get Joys delivery and taste the food you might just end up calling them right back to try more.

First off, the food is great. Standard teriyaki you can get anywhere, dont expect it to blow your mind. But yet Im here once every 2 weeks for chicken bowls and pot stickers. Note to the not so fun, as mentioned in other reviews the owner is a bit of a miser. He picks every penny he can. And the reason Im leaving this review is a board he has posted. Blaming the raising of prices on the increase in minimum wage. Im very happy his employees are getting more money, and in happy to pay more for it. But dont try and make a pubic passive aggressive thing about it by posting it large right as you walk in. Hopefully this gets pulled down soon. And hopefully Portland enforces a liveable wage for everyone especially servers.

Im reading some of the other reviews and thinking whats wrong with here?. My wife and I wouldnt dream of going back to this restaurant - not even with a BOGO coupon. Anyone who thinks that Joy Teriyaki tempura is even passable has not tasted good Japanese cuisine. The Calif-rolls were terrible. Granted, there was LOTS of stuff in the Bento box. The Miso soup was fine but everything that arrived after that was crap. This meal, that cost $11.99 each, taught us a lesson on the benefits of honest communication with your partner. We were ashamed that after looking at and tasting this meal that we didnt demand our money back.

OMG!!! NO JOY there!!! THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED! The Cashier/Waiter was the most Ridiculous and RUDE and Very Unprofessional and who just Hates his job and Customers. Too bad this site would not let me give them "NO stars" or at least half a star cause thats all they deserve! Please DONT waste your time, your money and your appetite on this place! Believe me you if u do then you will be GREATLY Disappointed! Btw I usually never write reviews but after this Horrible experience basically the WORST EVER compared to any other restaurants that I have ever been so I just needed to let people know about it!

these guys deliver within a three-mile radius, which is just excellent for those living in fairview (where we live, the only other place that delivers to us is dominos pizza). the food was fresh, piping hot, not greasy, not dry, tender, well flavoured, and wonderful. absolute perfection. will be ordering again very soon! *be sure to visit their website - its got a pretty well laid out menu with prices, so its really easy to figure out what you want before you call. we did have a couple of questions about some of the foods, and the woman on the phone was very helpful and polite in describing everything for us!

The food was warm and food like all that could be asked of it. However it was easily outshone by the radiance of a single staff member. Clearly an intelligent industrious worker. She seemed almost to appear when ever I needed something and was always polite and engaging. also really enjoyed the miso soup and the lemon tea. I dont often write reviews but she clearly brightens the whole place up with her smile and enables its diners to transcend the excellent albeit slightly aged dining experience of this venue. all in all 10/10 would dine again and sincerely recommend the rice balls.

Great food....great portions....great value!! Lunch specials are unbeatable. Have tried most of the menu. Best egg rolls around.....California rolls are fresh....mongolian beef is to die for....salmon is yummy....of course the classic chick. Teriyaki is delicious! Their spicy red sauce is so good....flavor & heat. Dont care for the udon noodles or the orange chicken...the orange sauce is a little funky...the pork (aka cut up short ribs) is hit or miss. The service is poor a lot of the time :-(

Horrible service. I came in and ordered a lunch special, something they should have ready to go. I was given a number and asked to wait, so I did. 15 minutes later and after watching four people who came after me get their orders I went back up to the counter where the young man told me it would be right out. No acknowledgment of the fact that they had forgotten about me. A muttered apology was all that was begrudgingly offered. The customer service is horrible and not worth my time.

After trying Joy Teriyaki, I never went back to any other teriyaki or bento restaurant.. Joy offers great teriyaki, incredibly fresh california rolls, and many other items. They are always quick in preparation, regardless of lines; and the owner is an incredible family who works very hard. Please support this family business and keep it thriving during these tough times.

Good food. Have put up with rude and apathetic owner and help for the food. No more. No smile and "thank you" just, "take and go" I ordered extra sauce today and did not receive it, though paid for. When I went in to complain, was told "you go now" rude, apathetic owner, careless help. I like the food but dont like the rude. I wont give them anymore of my money.

The worst customer service EVER! We came at 8:50pm and ordered food. after we ordered are food to go. we set down at the table at 9:05pm and the waiter/cashier/owner came to me and said we cant stay and eat here were closed at 9:30. I said seriously you dont close for 20 minutes. Then he started to argue with us. So wow I will never eat there ever.

RUDE Employees!!! Avoid this location & drive a few blocks to the Glisan one.. They must think their Sauces are GOLD because they give you ONE with a To-Go Platter & charge for EACH ADDITIONAL sauce, if they were AT LEAST POLITE ABOUT IT- I wouldnt be so irritated!! Today is the LAST TIME I EVER GO TO THIS Joy Teriyaki location!!!!!

3rd or 4th time eating here - quality is great, sauce is good, service is nice. Prices are slightly below average, which is nice, but dont trust the prices in the online menu through Google - my last entree was $2 more than listed.

Imagine a "Styrofoam Box Teriyaki Meal" You have imagined Joy Teriyaki. Very standard, not bad, just quite literally standard. If youve had teriyaki from a place like this before, im sure youll be satisfied.
