The environment is nice, the staff are friendly and pleasant. The food however left a little to be desired. I got the fish and chips and the other person got the BBQ pork sandwich. The fish was passable, but the sandwich was dry and had something creamy and pasty attached to some of the meat that coated your mouth with a strong smoked or woody taste. The sandwich also got a pathetic serving of fries, maybe 18 fries. at most. If I go back at some point in the future think Ill stick with the beer (great choice and variety on tap) and the pizza.

Bartender could not have cared less about us. Offered absolutely no beer suggestions even when asked. Rude. Tossed menu at us and even refilled his water bottle using the same nozzle that he fills customers drinks with directly into the mouth of his water bottle. Rude when questioned. Gross. Forget about southern hospitality. These folks are banking on tourists, not on solid service.

Went out for small birthday lunch on the back patio and we all were pleasantly surprised. The service was quick and courteous and the patio was a nice size and hidden from the main road. They played a nice jazz mix out there. Our food was cooked perfectly with the burger cooked to a perfect medium rare, which is hard to find, and the portions were filling. Definitely worth a shot.

The food and service here need some work. We were with a group of 8 and yes we walked in 25 minutes before close but the nastiness of the server was not necessary. They also wouldnt allow us to order some of the items on the menu because it was late. I found this to be very bizarre since the kitchen clearly did not close for another 25 minutes.

Poor food, great outside space and late night pub although small. Great service, but in the realm of Fredericksburg there are many better choices for superbly cooked food, And thats the honest truth. You can delete my honest comment if you want but its the truth ......would have gotten 2 stars if it wasnt for the great staff

Went here for lunch with the family...the food was good, but the service was a bit slow on the back porch. They were also out of the beer my Father-in-law ordered, and the server forgot to bring out my wifes meal until we mentioned it. It was still a pretty nice lunch. Just dont go here if you are in a hurry.

The pizza is literally the best Ive ever had. I would eat an entire one... or two... on my own. Perfect thin crust that you can fold if you wanna, like everything New York wishes it could do. The only complaint is that it wasnt four sizes bigger. Also, the atmosphere is perfectly divey and comfy. Love it.

a couple of years ago they changed the menu, got rid of a lot of items including some of their best beer and pizza while significantly upping prices. my wife and I used to go here for their good prices and great beer selection. ..

If you want to get out of the canned chain restaurants and have good food in relaxed atmosphere, J. Brians is the place. Located smack in historic downtown, the food is good, reasonably priced and the people are very friendly.

Great place to grab a drink. They dont get the unruly throngs. Cozy atmosphere with excellent bar staff that remember your name and what you are drinking. They ask you if you would like another drink!

I only sat at the bar with a few friends. I ordered a non-alcoholic drink and was served quickly. I chatted with the bartender for a bit, he was friendly. Nice atmosphere and outdoor area.

Nice selection of beers and great decorations. The outside courtyard is very nice for dinner. I had a salmon fillet which was tasty. Nice place to get dinner with friends.
