We trek back and forth along I-84 to my Moms several times a year and have hit almost every decently rated place between Danbury and Hartford, everything from diners like the Blue Colony to Maggie McFlys to Mexican joints to Cadillac Ranch to Italian to fine $$$ dining. Finally we found this place and have it locked in as THE place to go every time we make the trek. The pub food is above par and most of it appears thoughtfully made on premises and is not Aramak boil-a-bag food like most places along this route. It helps that RTHSKLR is reasonably priced and has decent wines. It is also very popular and lively, in a good, adult "taverny" way, not bursting at the seams with screaming kids like chain "family" restaurants or Outback on Saturday nights. Helps that it is bar centric and serves food later than many places. We end up there on the late side on Friday nights and find we can get a table no problem.

Another fantastic restaurant in Southbury. Cozy atmosphere, great food, beer selection, wines and cocktails. The service is always top notch. The staff is friendly and attentive and I have never eaten a meal here where I felt rushed. Family owned and the owners are almost always here. Great people. Come for a romantic meal or bring the whole family. Rathskellers wont disappoint.

Friendly and attentive staff, a welcoming local atmosphere with a "Cheers" pub kind of feel, an extensive array of offerings on the 6 page menu, each with excellent flavors. Weve been going there almost 4 years now, some times 2 or 3 times a week, tried most items on the menu. Always impressed.

Excellent service, drinks and appetizers, however unseasoned and cold dinner. I got the brisket, which was ok, but the side of broccoli and potatoes were cold and had no seasoning. I dont think I will order dinner again but will definitely be back for a drink and an app.
