When I drove up, the Valet acted as if he thought I was lost. I then had to answer to him where I was going. Once he understood I was indeed dining with Pax and had reservations, he took my car. I had walked out where the cars were to be parked, as I waited for my friend to arrive. I didnt see my car back there, but thought there was a separate parking lot. When I was finished with a delicious meal, and great service, I went to go get my car. I was appalled to find the valet had jumped my car up on a curb to park it behind a trash dumpster. When I apprised the management of the situation, he apologized and asked what I wanted him to do about it. Well Sir, your valet should be fired for treating a paying customers car like trash, to the point he parked it back behind, right next to the trash dumpster. How disgusting, I pay you good hard earned money, to have you treat my car like trash. With 8 empty spots in your parking lot, and my car with the trash, you can just bet I will make a point to put my experience on social media. I will say the food was good, but not so good to be by the trash after your meal. Certainly didnt help my Crohns disease, just disgusting behavior. I expected better

Overall, service was a disappointment and the food was mediocre for the price. Our table was reserved for us and ready, which was a good sign. But it took 10 minutes to get menus and then another 15 to order. Their menu that night was considerably meatier than their sample menu online, which made it difficult for the vegetarian in our group. Our waitress went by a few times before would could ever get her attention. The food was mediocre for the price. If it had been half the price, it wouldve been great. There were just a lot of strange combinations that werent bad, but werent good either (e.g. carrots and granola, or chicken wings and anchovy). The carrots were undercooked and the brassicas (FYI: that means mustard-plant veggies like broccoli, kale, brussel sprouts) flavors were muddled. The wine list is entirely American (or almost entirely...I didnt scrutinize each item), which is great if you like California and Oregon wines. But not so great if you like wines from anywhere else in the world. The one wine we got was metallic -- almost coppery -- and just unappealing. Terrible service, mediocre food, and a bad wine list mean I wont be going back.

My husband took me here for my birthday. When we arrived we let them know it was my birthday. The atmosphere is nice... Trendy. I like the big window to the kitchen, the lighting was good and it was inviting. Our server was great, very sweet and informative. I cannot remember her name:( The bottle of cabarnet we ordered was very good. We ordered the grilled common bread to start along with the beef tartare and the blistered shishito peppers. The bread was not good. It tasted burnt... Not grilled. The beef was good... Not great or anything special. The peppers were delicious. For dinner my husband had the smoked brisket and I had the gulf rock shrimp. My husbands brisket was good... Again nothing special. My shrimp was super disappointing. It was small shrimp served in a bowl of mushy corn, peas and blueberries with dressing. I did not care for it. We did not get dessert. I was surprised they didnt wish me a happy birthday or bring out a special dessert. Every restaurant we have ever gone to on my birthday makes it so very special. This restaurant did not... And it was a bummer. Overall, it was good. I expected great. Prices are reasonable.

When food critic Alison Cook tells you a restaurant is good, you listen and you go. Ive long awaited my turn to go to Pax Americana and finally found an occasion to go. I came on a Wednesday evening and was floored at how crowded this place for a week night. It was not until after my meal I understood what the hype was all about. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation. Life will be much easier.I had the Wilson cocktail which was delicious. We opted for the goat ricotta, Japanese eggplant, pork meatballs, rock shrimp and chocolate malt cake mousse. As each dish was brought out, my eyes widened and my taste buds jumped for joy. We were also lucky enough to come on a night where they served brisket but I did not try it. I can see why people rave about this place. The service was impeccable and the ambiance is just right. My absolute favorite dishes were the goat ricotta-- I mean cmon. I couldve eaten this alone and died happy -- and the chocolate mousse. Whether youre celebrating a special occasion or just out to enjoy a wonderful meal, Pax is the place. I cannot wait to come back.

Our waitress was friendly and fun and always on the ball, and the restaurant had a great atmosphere. We tried the fixed menu which came with a lot more food than we expected and our gluten free companion was very well catered as nothing had to be missed out. Dessert was the only course we didnt enjoy - panna cotta with peanut brittle and popcorn icecream. The panna cotta itself was bland and the icecream was salty, none of us enjoyed it and it was left relatively untouched. Dinner for four with drinks was $400, so it is by no means cheap but I feel that the fixed price menu was good value for Pax. The only disappointment was that I gave advance notice that two of our party were celebrating their birthdays and no recognition was made, although I know they received it as they acknowledged that one guest was gluten free which I stipulated at the same time. Even just acknowledgement that it was a celebration would have been enough, so dont expect them to make any sort of a fuss if you go there for a special occasion.

I was a bit underwhelmed by pax. I wish I could give this place 3.5 stars though because the service was super and it is a decent place to try fine food. I just dont think it was suited to my taste. The food was a bit wanting. I did enjoy the bone marrow and the flavors with that. However the Korean red pepper pork ribs were disappointing. It was way too fatty and too acidic. The Farro and Texas oyster mushrooms were a little on the greasy side but did have good flavors. Almost tasted like risotto. I very much enjoyed the snapper, but I think for the price, it was only average, not amazing as a place like this would demand. The dessert was phenomenal. We had Eton mess and I found the cilantro ice cream to be light and refreshing. Overall, my impression of the food was average. Let me know what yall think.

In a word: fantastic. On a whim I decided to make a reservation for my partner and I on a Friday evening. Fortunately they had some seating available, though in an enclosed area outside - which was perfectly fine. I expected some run-of-the-mill menu and service, but was pleasantly surprised to what I received. Fantastic cocktail menu; great variety of choices in their dinner menu - with a strong encouragement to share with one another, per the server; the ambiance was perfect for an evening out in the town. Be advised that the pricing may be a bit higher than many other places. And my one real point of criticism was that the brisket option was a bit underwhelming for the ticket price. But overall the experience was one that inspires me to return.
