Update: One of the owners contacted me to refund my entire meal and to offer me a second chance on the house. He tried to reassure me that what I saw was a grain of black rice that got in my white rice from cross-contamination of the rice scoop. I can see how that would be possible, but I am almost certain that what I found in my rice was not a grain of black rice. It did not have the consistency or appearance of a rice grain. There was still no apology for the distress caused by possibly seeing crap in my food; only reassurance that I was wrong. Ill throw in another star for the full refund and for contacting me to try to explain the situation, albeit in a condescending explanation. Previous review: I really wanted to like this place since I recently moved to the area, and Im looking for my new go-to Chinese food place. The delivery was quick and the food was good, albeit a little pricey. HOWEVER, as I was scooping out a second serving of rice, there was what appeared to be a little brown mouse/rat turd in my rice that had stained the surrounding rice brown. My wife and I immediately stopped eating our meals, and I called the restaurant to inform them of the situation. The lady who answered the phone didnt really seem that concerned and asked if I wanted a refund on the rice. I insisted that our whole order be refunded, but she settled on refunding only my meal. There were no apologies whatsoever.

This is the greediest and stingiest Chinese restaurant in the Clarendon/Courthouse/Rosslyn area. The sign outside said they had lunch specials with an egg roll. I ordered a lunch special and I didnt get an egg roll. The lady said it was only for dine in customers only. HOW CHEAP IS THAT? Their lunch specials are also expensive. For example: for General Tsos chicken they give you 7 pieces with white rice in a to-go Styrofoam box and charge you dinner prices $11.95. I found a place one block down the road going toward Rosslyn on Wilson called Lucky Pot. Lucky Pot actually serves lunch specials with an egg roll. Can you imagine that? And, Lucky Pots lunch specials are a lot less expensive starting from $6.95. I would pass on TNR Cafe unless you really want to waste your money.

This place is a theft place. We ordered food from them by the phone and we gave them credit card information. Someone who is employed in there used our credit card to purchase $1000 groceries from Giant online. Shame on you . Who still money from a military families ?? And who still money from someone in the first place...??? Please be careful when you buying food from them because you dont know if they still your money until they purchased over thousand dollars. I would suggest not to go and go to that place ever. We learned our lesson. People are so crazy to still peoples money.. SMH!!!

I typically go here for the brown whole grain rice but did not feel very welcome this time. I walked into a near empty restaurant (5 people seated and two already served) and waited about 10 mins while three servers walked around, answered phone calls and starred at me like im some kind of alien. My patience reached its limit when an asian guest walked in and was immediately served water and presented a menu (i had neither) so i got up and left. Customer service us paramount to me. Sawatdee is right down the road and they a much larger and flavorful selection so thats where i went.

As the old joke goes, Chinese food is like sex —even when its bad, its good. The original joke was about pizza, but the same goes for American Chinese food in general and certainly for T.N.R. in particular. The food at T.N.R. (Tea Noodles Rice) isnt amazing. Its 100% okay. But itll always satisfy your craving for big, greasy portions of beef & broccoli stir fry or sesame chicken. My favorite thing about TNR? Its the best (only?) place in the Courthouse-Clarendon-Rosslyn area for a quick bubble tea to go.

This is one of our favorite more authentic Chinese (well TNR is more Taiwanese) restaurants in the area. Great food options and service. Also really cheap. For of us did the combo option and an extra plate, so four dishes and a soup, for 11.75 per person after tax and tip. Doesnt get better than that. While the kungpao chicken is not super authentic, it is one of my favorites. Honestly I have not had anything here that was that disappointing.

As for the food. It is always top notch. The only chinese place I make an effort to visit. I recommend like the other reviewer said to eat at the restaurant. Lots of people go there all the time. If you go with carry out, thats when mistakes happen at many restaurants. Thats why eating at the restaurant is a good idea. Their veggie options are better than most other places plus the bubble tea is a fun treat once in a while.

Tea Noodles has very friendly service and they are super fast during lunch hours. The price is also very easy on the wallet. I came here during my job training and stopped by for lunch. It is not truly authentic but better than those fake Chinese takeout spot. It is a reliable and decent Chinese lunch spot. I would not say it is among the top places though.

Ordered the General Tsos Chicken from them for delivery. Came with white rice and a fortune cookie. Delivery time on a Tuesday afternoon was right about 30 minutes. Food looked and tasted great. Super hot right at my door. The chicken pieces were large and juicy. The sauce had a nice heat to it. Great chinese delivery in the Courthouse Neighborhood.

I love this place. Best Chinese food in Arlington, in my opinion. Its really sad that theyve cut their hours and wont serve the late night crowd anymore. Missing out on a huge market... bad business practice. Will definitely miss them. Sending all of my business (late night or otherwise) to Hunan Number One from now on because of reliability (not quality).

Great food for the price and incredibly quick delivery. I usually get delivery and do wonton soup, spring rolls, and orange chicken. The chicken is occasionally a bit too fatty for my taste, but the flavors in general are good and I love the option of including a side of fried rice. Not the best Ive ever had, but will definitely meet a craving.

I am a visitor from Chicago. Dinnered here on Friday night. It is NOT the Kabob which is two doors down the road from TNR. Ordered Tomato Fried Egg, Zha Jiang Noodle, kind Jiang Rou Si, things I grew up with. Although not my mama style, but excellent taste indeed. It is more authentic than many restaurants in Chicago Chinatown as I can tell.

My boyfriend and I have ordered take out from here a few times now and the food is always delicious! Weve ordered different items every time and no matter what we get, its always really good. We keep saying that we should try some other Chinese places around the area but just cant seem to not order from TNR Cafe when we get Chinese food.

For several years this has been one of my go-to restaurants in the CourtHouse neighborhood. Casserole dishes are really excellent. Incredibly pleasant staff. Just enjoyable to dine in and great for takeout. Terrific pricing. Absolutely great value. Its been that way for years and it continues to shine as of early 2016.
