The problem is that I had high expectation/hopes for this restaurant. Id been hearing the radio ads for quite a while, so I requested that we go eat there on Saturday night before Valentines Day (on Sunday). We made a reservation and were seated promptly. I had pre-reviewed the menu on their website but we were told by the server that they had a special Valentines Day menu only and that the main menu was not available so the Scallops appetizer was not an option. There were only two Entrees offered. We both ordered the Filet which came with mashed potatoes, burned corn and steamed veggies - .this was not optional. This Entree was about $45 each. Salad or soup was included, but were just fair. Dessert was extra, so with just one cocktail and one dessert, our bill with tip was about $130. They only brought bread after I asked for it and it came after our meal was delivered. The bread was wrapped only in a white cloth napkin, so when you tore off your piece, crumbs were all over the tablecloth. I ordered my steak Medium. It was delivered rare, so I sent it back. A Manager came back with the re-cooked steak and when I looked at it, it was still very red, but I told the manager I would eat it. She told me that my plate was SO hot that if I would slice the meat and press it into the plate, that it would cook it some more!?!?!? The steak was not bad, but the potatoes, corn and veggies were no better than found at. Black-Eyed Pea or in a can. Some tables had ceramic boots with fake plants in them and some of the boots were empty. In 55 years, this is the first time Ive ever bothered to take the time to write a review. It was a very disappointaping experience. I will never return.

Originally went December 2016, 12 of us. Did not have a good experience, left a lengthy note with our waitress. Next day, owner contacted us, apologized and followed up with very nice gift certificates. Went again on Thursday and it was all we expected: good aervice, good food, good wine, pleasant atmosphere. We had the crab cake appetizer with lobster sauce, filet mignon (wifes was a bit under cooked, they took care of it and cooked it just a little more), and the desserts are just the right size. Without knowing about gift certificate, we had two managers stop by to ensure we were happy, multiple wait staff poured water or took up our plates---very good service

My husband and I went here to celebrate our anniversary recently and it did not disappoint. The owner, Shelby, was constantly going around checking on tables. She helped our waitress keep our glasses full and made sure we had a wonderful evening. Our waitress, Macayla, was very attentive and answered all our questions. She made an excellent wine suggestion as well. The food went above our expectations! The steak was so tender and delicious. Our evening was topped off by a complimentary slice of the most divine chocolate cake, topped with a sparkler. You should definitely check this place out- especially if you are looking to have a special evening.

You can always tell when the vegetarian menu is created by non-vegetarians, because you end up with things like "Vegetable Platter - $16". Admittedly, I knew going in that this wasnt a good restaurant for vegetarians, but for a place with THREE dollar signs by their name, I kind of figured thered be a bit more than "Vegetable Platter" and three kinds of salad. Also, everything was weirdly salty?? Including my basic garden salad and the bread, which had salt actually sprinkled on top. However, heard from my dining companions that the meat was decent - so I guess the moral is, if youre going to eat here, only eat the meat.

This is by far one of the worst steak houses I have ever been to in Dallas. I will never be coming back. First off the staff seemed scatter brained and had no idea where the food went or what was on the menu. We orders fried qual legs which had seasoning. The scallops were bland and over cooked. Lastly my steak, i ordered the house special steak. A 16 oz Delmonico steak medium rare. It was awful it was it was "cooked right" but tasted like a cheap piece of meat. It was chewy and and tough. I dont recommend ever coming here. Try silver fox down the road, it must be better.

Food was good. The pecan pie is amazing I will definitely go back for that. A bit pricey, I wasnt a fan of the food. The bartenders were terrible, the owner had to pour our drinks. There were maybe 5 people behind the bar and no one would look at us or help us. With the price you are paying I think you should have better service than a chilis. It was so loud we could barely talk to each other. Meat was all fat and vegetables oily. The mashed potatoes were great though. I would only go back for the dessert.

Beautiful decor, greasy food with lots of peppers. Whipped potatoes had so much scallions, all I could taste was onion. (Menu doesnt say anything about the ingredients & my experience with whipped potatoes is them not having extra stuff in them because whipped is whipped for easy chew) Your fountain drinks also come in plastic bottles- that they charge $3 apeice for. Never been to an upscale restaurant that handed me coke in the bottle. They dont even have RC. Too expensive for the quality.

The service ruined what could have been anice enjoyable evening. Server was circus like, annoying and just plain poorly skilled. The food was average at best yet priced on the high end. Ive had better quality plating and cooked food at a traditional steak/seafood chain. Decent wine selection but again way overpriced as if this was a 3 star restaurant and its not. I guess the experience would depend on you expectations but for what they charge its not worth it.

I had a blast at Texas! Food was decent and wait staff were so nice and fun. The owner even recognized us from our last visit a month ago. They have martini w olives stuffed w blue cheese, which is hard to find. Steak tips and Delmonico was really delicious. Oh the baguette is baked perfectly. This isnt the best steak I had, but it was great for the price and it was a fun filled night out. I would definitely return when in Dallas.

Excellent experience on our visits. Steaks and fish are top-notch and service is professional. A cozy ambience rather than the stuffy feel of some restaurants of this quality. Dale Wamstad is not an "absentee" owner and chances are good you will get a handshake and friendly hello when there. He has the knack of making you feel like he has been a family friend for years. His charming daughter is also there for a howdy!

Excellent place with a unique vibe and environment. It is mirroring an old west saloon from the Texas past by way of your servers attire, the chandeliers, and wall decorations. The restaurant lay out is a very open-concept orientation with 2 floors. Food is quite excellent. Not the biggest selection of choice but my food was really good. It is moderately pricey where a steak can start around $30.
