THIS IS LITERALLY THE BEST MIDDLE EASTERN RESTAURANT IN THE BERGEN COUNTY PASSAIC COUNTY AREA. Trust me as a lover of Middle Eastern Mediterranean food, I have been to just about every place in the are and there are many good ones out there and some bad, but Abu Rass was by far the best. They blow everything else out of the water. Heres why...As soon as we walked in unlike most of the other restaurants Ive been to we were greeted by a very very friendly host and not given a stink eye because we werent of middle Eastern descent. The service was great and very attentive. We sat in the courtyard patio are which was very nice and welcoming especially on a nice summer night. We then ordered out food which was beyond reasonably priced. I ordered a large meat platter for my friend and I to share for $25 and what we got was a top quality dish filled with flavor and a portion to feed an army. It came with 4 different meats, rice and salads for both of us. Im a big guy and can usually eat alot and on this occasion I was quite hungry but still had difficulty putting this dish away. Truly a great bang for you buck and amazing experience. This is my new go to spot!

Arguably the best middle eastern restaurant in a city overflowing with such establishments. I often go to Abu Rass alone for a quick bite, but the service and quality of food is good enough to warrant bringing the whole family for a more formal meal. The lavash sandwiches are my favorite items for a quick (but satisfying!) lunch.. the meat is always juicy and fresh, the seasonings are in proper proportions, everything about these sandwiches is perfect.. When ordering for a group, we often order a few different dishes to split up and share family style. The appetizers are exceptional. ORDER THE FATTEH EGGPLANT!!! Im picky about eggplant dishes, but this dish stunned me -- literally one of the best things Ive eaten in recent memory. The kebab dishes are a favorite to split up and share. The mixed grill platters are overflowing and dense with flavors -- these folks are masters of the grilled meat arts. Abu Rass has slowly expanded over the years, and its easy to see why. Definitely worth trying if youre looking for standout middle eastern cuisine.

HORRIBLE RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE: My family and I went to this restaurant today. We expected that it would be busy today as it was Eid (holiday). We waited for over one hour for our order. Within that time no wait staff came to check on us. We had a three year old with us who was waiting for her food for over an hour. Its a good thing we brought our own crackers for her to nibble on. We flagged down a waiter twice to ask about our order. After an hour my husband tried to get the attention of a waiter and tapped his arm. The waiter "hit" my husband! Honestly! He Hit My Husband! Needless to say we were furious and it took everything my husband had within him not to have decked the man back! What kind of service is this! I will NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone! Instead try the terrific restaurant across the street - Al Basha! Excellent Food and Excellent Service!!!

The problem with this place is the poor service and how often they mess up orders. One of our drinks actually came made with salt instead of sugar - it was so bad. They made up for it, but this was after having asked for the drink 4 times and waiting for an hour (they kept forgetting). The bright side was the food which was excellent. Just not the service. Before I forget the most uncomfortable part - they cleared out a corner of the place for prayer and prayed out loud while people were eating. Im Egyptian so I understood, but still it had to be uncomfortable for the whole room. It definitely was for our table which didnt know if they should keep talking.

I had bad experience there. The food was cold, the salad too sour. The food taste like it was cooking a week ago مطعم سيء للغايه. الأكل بارد ومطبوخ من عده الايام. كان مزدحم عالفاضي. أنا وأختي وزوجها جانا ألم بالمعده وإستفراغ. We had stomach ache.

The food is ok but the service is possibly the worst it can be. The guy on the counter runs around like a headless Chicken while customers are in front of him. Dont bother ordering on the phone because they always forget and start making it when u show up...and then when you get there the guy is too busy taking phone orders that they forget while you wait standing there. When ordering I noticed people are intimidated to ask questions because of their attitude. O yeah and always check your change the cashiers math is off balance haha

Upon walking up to be seated we were greeted by the NICEST man who introduced himself and shook our hands. We were taken out back and were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere of the hooka seating section. We ordered the Large platter and the portion was the biggest plate of meat and rice I have ever seen!! And for such a low price! The steak was nicely grilled, the chicken was juicy, the rice had toasted almonds on it. Everything was perfect! Will be coming here every time I am in the mood for Mediterranean!

Now 08/12/2017 (JUST STAY AWAY) Very poor customer service and rude attitude from the short waitress named Fatimah, she has no idea what the food is, and she replays rudely by saying: Check the menu and she says she is very rude because she didnt eat. Well, even if she hasnt eaten anything, she must show professionalism at work. The waiters here dont welcome you when u enter this restaurants, I myself went and brought myself a menu. All are slow except the waiter named Omar, he is so professional and very quick

I went during Iftar, when the staff was busy and running around. Yet, they never failed to come to our table and ask how the food was and if we needed anything. After fasting all day and having to run around when they should be breaking their fast, youd think that the staff would be in a bad mood, but they were VERY courteous. And of course the food was DELICIOUS! Just didnt like that they use so much Elahchi

Its June 22, 2017 just you guys know when this comment has been made, we went yesterday after iftar ( breaking the fast) to smoke a hooka, service was amazing, got our hooka in 10 minutes, we was two persons. Price is medium, I DID NOT TREYED THE FOOD, so Im going back to try it since I really loved the service, and also the lovely outdoor atmosphere.
