I feel like I probably missed out, stopping into Poppa Burger for a quick Wednesday lunch, instead of a Saturday night late bite. However, the prices are great, and the food is definitely good for the price. Too many meals are just too complicated. This is a straightforward locally owned fast food alternative. I had a little poppa burger and a side of nachos. With a coke it came up to less than $5 and did the trick. It might not be the sort of place where you start out your date night, but it seems like a perfectly good place to wrap up a night out.

There is no better comfort/late night/muchie food like Poppa Burger fries with ketchup served in a bag with a fork. Ive been eating there since I was born & my parents were eating there long before that. Its a staple of my child hood. My favorite burger place ever. Shakes are thick & Root Beer taste better here for some reason. Thank you Poppa Burger for all the memories. Never leave us & never change. See you soon.

Ive tried this off and on for many years and it still hasnt changed. Cheap quality meat, small portions. They have always been very petty with condiments by giving 1 salt, 1 pepper and 1 napkin. They wont give you ketchup packs at all but instead squirt it all over your good for you. This place has only been here so many years because its only place in the neighborhood that sells good and open 24hrs.

Cash only. You wait in line outside in a convoluted series of lines ,where no one really knows where it starts or who is next, to get to a small window where youre told they dont take debt. It was an interesting looking place with out door seating only. We didnt actually eat the food but the smells coming off the grill were still enough to earn 3 stars. Its also dangerously close to a busy street.

This place has been around since before I even came to existence and its always been great. I remember when that area wasnt too safe (kind of scary) but the food was good then. Now, the area is safer and the food is still awesome and fairly inexpensive. To sum it all up the food is a great deal and always has been awesome as far as I can remember. Great place to stop by late at night. Cash only.

so far i love it.its basically 24hrs and its only 5 minutes away from my job.i work overnight and by 1am we are all hungry and snacking on vending machine food. we discovered poppa burger through google and hopefully it lives up to all of our expectations.if so we will definitely be returning and poppa burger will get great referrals from me.be looking out for my update..see you soon!!

Nice comfort food day or night, food is always good anytime, draw back, must get down to order, and have to share your space with all the bums that hang out, night time after bars let out, place gets packed, so if you dont mind waiting in line smelling the drunks and bums the food will be worth it, cash only.

Me & my Son Matthew used to hang out here during the summer of 1997, we were staying at the Neighborhood shelter that isnt there any more. These were the Best Hamburgers Ive ever had and we loved sitting out there under the Roof in the evening making a lot of new friends every day. Great place!

Worth the drive out of downtown to enjoy a good lunch burger. CASH ONLY...but that means quality burgers. Its not my favorite burger place in Houston, but they make a very nice burger for a reasonable price. If you work downtown, definitely check this place out....Free parking too!

Ive been coming to this place for over 30 years and the food is still good and unfortunately when you do come to this place he always have to be prepared and be alert of your surroundings because you still have your vagrants at times bothering you other than that food is good

Love Poppa Burger ..been going there for years in the old northside days in the mid 80s..remember good old poppa burger being open on our way home..eating like pigs after an undergrounds show at Cardies or at the Axiom..downtown!!! Metal!!

Drove past this little gem and thought Id give it a whirl. Its inexpensive and the menu is pretty large. Good burgers although the fries could use some flavour. Will definitely make this a go to spot for a great value meal in the future!

Very busy during lunch hours, but throughout the rest of the day, its pretty easy to place an order. The food is fantastic, I have been coming here for years. I generally eat inside of my vehicle due to the noise pollution and pigeons.

Update. I came and got the double daddy burger with bacon and jalapeno. Trust me. I am satisfied. I pay exactly 6.10 with a drink included. It was awesome... Food taste great, prices were good. Good place to hang out with friends.
