Before El Patio Mexican Restaurant, I was an average American Man enjoying all that life had to offer. Well-educated and self-assured. I actually believed that the world was a good and just place. Then one lunch afternoon I decided to try a Mexican Restaurant our for Lunch. I checked reviews, many of which described El Patio as "appetizing" or "Pleasing," so I was on my way. I was seated down quickly and my order was taken. It looked very promising. When the food was out, I was sure to emotionally prepare myself for a possible let down-- after all, whats life without taking a few chances? Tragically, all of the preparation in the world couldnt ready me for a Enchilada that was barely edible. The moment El Patios "food" entered my mouth biological warfare was waged. My tastebuds were completely destroyed by a taste which can only be described as "nausea-inducing." or "suicide-causing". My brain entered a fight-or-flight mode, and my adrenaline levels rose to prepare for what my body perceived as an attack. Once my neurons realized that there was no hope, that the poison was already in my system, my organs began to systematically shut down from shock. As I write this from my bed, the hum of my dialysis machine in the background, I realize that the world is an empty placed filled with only the most of awful horror. I will never be the same again. In short, El Patio has made me want one single thing: the sweet release of death.

I never write reviews so the fact that I wrote this one shows how strongly this place upset me!!! We went here for my friends Bachelorette party and did not tell them we wanted to split up the ticket at the very beginning because we figured with a large group of girls that that would be assumed and they refused to give us separate tickets. Then after 30 minutes of figuring out who had what and what price we needed to pay we gave the money and cards to the waiter then he told us he would not take cash. We ended up having to pay the check split up equally between the party even though some of us spent way more than the other person! So it took us over 45 minutes to an hour to get our check paid for. When we discussed the situation with the manager all they said was it was their policy and they could not change it once it was put in the machine! Also both the toilets in the girls’ bathroom were not working and no one in our party liked their margaritas (maybe it was a bad night because all the other reviews said they were really good but not ours!)

The acoustics of the restaurant caused one to have to yell across the table to converse. You had to walk through people smoking and people waiting for valet to bring them their cars in order to find the entrance which isnt clearly marked. The food was not adequately prepared (cheese on nachos not melted and cold; appetizer arrived after main course was delivered to the table). The taste and quality of food was actually not bad, but overpriced which most likely has to do with the location and operating expenses thereof. I would go here to watch a sporting event, but I certainly wouldnt consider it again for a main course meal.

Horrible place and people who work in ot. We went to take a takeout as our dog was with us.The valet people did not give a spot and told to park in the thai massage parking. We went in there was no receptionist to attend. After waiting for sometime a lady came and she said curtly if you do takeout you wont get free kids menu offer.... I dont know why bother to keep free kids Tuesday if you make customers uncomfortable and making them feel you are doing a Great favor! Would advise all my friends and family to stay away. There are lot of good choices for Mexican food where the ambience, service and food are great.

JMB IV: El Patio is the best Mexican restaurant in Houston hands down. If you dont like El Patio then youre not a true Houstonian, and you should pack up your belongings tonight and move to Dallas. El Patio will warm your stomach with delicious food, and cloud your mind with brain altering margaritas. Plus Roland works there, and any restaurant Roland works at is going to be fantastic. There are some down sides though. The parking lot is too crowed, and the place is a little small, but all great things have a downside. Aint nothin perfect. El Patio I love you like a brother. A delicious brother.

If your staff making a mother feel as if she has to feed her child in the restroom, since she was asked to leave from the dining area, wasnt bad. Following her to the restroom to kick her out because she is breastfeeding is ridiculous. She was a paying customer trying to enjoy a meal at your establishment, guess what, her child was also trying to enjoy a meal. Sec. 165.002 Right To Breastfeed. A mother is entitled to breast feed her baby in any location in which the mother is authorized to be.

Funny little Tex-Mex spot that must have more of a history than I know about as the food isnt particularly better than other Tex-Mex places nor are the drinks more inventive or anything (but they are strong), but its always crowded for dinner. Always. And its required valet parking to handle those crowds! Anyway, its still a fun place once you get inside, and if youre traveling without children, you should check out Club No Minors, the best spot in the restaurant. Youll see why when you go.

Spend your money somewhere else. Hands down the worst place i have ever eaten at and at such a ridiculously high price. The queso, which cost $9 and was said to be spicy and flavorful was the single most disgusting hunk of greasy lard Ive ever seen. The chimichanga meal i got was soggy, bland and was basically fajitas wrapped in their greasy bland lardy cheese, and the beans that came with it just had to have come out of a can, the rice was pretty good though. What a disappointment!

What do you love about El Patio Mexican Restaurants? El Patio is our favorite neighborhood haunt for Mexican Food. Great food (the cheese enchiladas, mole enchiladas, combo fajitas, and El Patio salad are our favorites), combined with great service, put El Patio in a class by itself. We are regular regular customers and enjoy the benefits of having the entire waitstaff know us and our preferences. That is rare to find in Houston restaurants! We LOVE El Patio!

Their service and food are just fine. The parking lot and the seating arrangement is terrible. They have people packed in WAY to close together and they insist on making valet parking in their pitiful tiny little lot which means you will have to wait about 30 minutes to leave after finishing your meal by the time you pay the check and get your car back. They got a ticket from the fire marshal for overcrowding when I was there and they definitely deserved it.

I love El Patio! Blue Margaritas, Happy Hour, all the food is great. Havent had a bad experience. Always sit in Club No Minor, to avoid kids running around in the main area, I dont have kids yet and when I have my godson or nieces and nephews, I understand these are things that are normal. However when I am out without kids I want to enjoy my time so I prefer Club No Minor, serves the same food, it the same place, just no one under 21 is allowed in the area.
