First of all, let me admit that this is probably my favorite Indian restaurant in Marin. But, please let me clarify that there are so few Indian restaurants in Marin to choose from that this should not necessarily be considered a compliment. But, what I mean to write about here is not the food (or perhaps slightly associated with it, but not directly). I went to this restaurant on January 31, 2009. I had my two young chilren with me. I ordered an appetizer from the menu (one which the boys had eaten to much delight on prior visits). When we received this dish on this visit, it was extremely spicy (and it is not described as spicy on the menu as other items are). It was so spicy that no one at the table could eat it. So, I sent it back. I ended up sending it back 30 or 40 minutes into the dinner. Not because I waited so long to speak up, but because that is approximately how long it took for us to receive our food in the first place. So, when it came time to settle up and leave (which took another 15 minutes to get our check), they refused to take the dish off the bill. They did provide a 10% discount on the entire bill, but that still left me payng more than 50% of the cost of a dish no one could eat. So, that was my experience - it seems to be hit or miss and for me, they missed it big. Fortunately, it will not ever happen to me again - because I would rather not do business with people like this. Someone please let me know of any other good Indian restaurants in Marin!

While staying at a local hotel on business, I decided to order out. I ordered through a 3rd party service that was linked to on the merchants website for delivery. I got the Raja special for $22.95. While the delivery service was great and Id give them a flawless review, the food I got was anything but. Ive eaten at MANY Indian restaurants. Nothing about this food even met the standards I was hoping for. The "appetizers" were nothing more than 2 small plastic cups.. like the kind you get to put ketchup in. The main courses were mixed together in a wrapping of foil and were COMPLETELY BURNT AND DRY!!!! Everything else was absolutely gross and flavorless. Even my mango lassi had ICE CUBES?? Seriously? I didnt eat much more than a few pieces of burnt chicken and figured out that the other burnt charcoil substance was my lamb. This was the biggest waste of money ever and I would absolutely NOT ever recommend or ever eat here again. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!! DISGUSTING DISGUSTING DISGUSTING!!!!

I went to this restaurant with 2 of my friends, a group of 3 women. Their kitchen has a large glass window with a view over the dining area. We were seated near the window. An Indian cook in the kitchen took a comfortable pose and just kept staring at us through the window as if he was watching TV. We talked about it among ourselves and gave him a annoyed look. You would think that the guy would stop staring after this but he seemed to be amused by it, kept grinning and continued to watch and grin at us. It was the creepiest experience. After this we just left. If they are going to allow their staff to be blatantly disrespectful to women, I dont care what quality the food is. Note to the owners: CLOSE the shutters of the window to the kitchen!! And stop hiring village idiots. Teach your staff to have basic social etiquettes so they dont keep staring at young women who walk into the restaurant.

I live close by and wanted to get some indian but didnt want to drive to san rafael. so I wound up at this place. I got a vegetarian order to go. it showed up in a cardboard box. the main dish was put in aluminum foil and wrapped up, which i have never seen before and wasnt a good idea because the sauce was leaking everywhere. the dish was burned and the carrots were not cleaned before being chopped. it looked like little care was taken in the preparation of the dish. the price for a dinner dish with rice and nan was 17. for 17 it should have been a lot better. i will not go back again. sorry to have to write this but serve better food.

Asked for extra rice and bread..at least enough to fill two people.. Didnt get that - it was barely enough for a single person, so had to cook our own rice instead - at home. I love Indian food, its always colourful and offers the finest of taste explosions..but not this time.., the food was rather dull and the sauces had more of a soupy texture. So..31 Dollars for two sauces, max. 1 portion of rice and a bit of Naan..? Its up to you, but I wouldnt do it again.

Consistency is the best way to describe IPR. It has consistently watery but pretty tasty Sag Paneer. It has pretty good CTM (chicken tikka masala). It has really good nan. You get the point. Its a quiet little place that you can count on. Its quirky as they have live music on Mondays (I believe thats the day). Its nice Indian background music played by nice Chinese gentlemen. Again, quirky but cheap and tasty. Keep your expectations in check as it is in a motel.

Ive been eating at this place for the last 20 years and the owners are the same since. The food has not change in quality and the buffet is a must have on any day from 11am to 2 pm the best. Now if you want to impress the ladies the dinner will cost you a bit more but the food is still amazing. The location is old, but the kitchen is always very clean.

Some of the best Indian food I have had outside of India. Run by a lovely Indian family serving traditional northern Indian cuisine, this place is truly a hidden gem in the area. East to get to, plenty of parking (located inside a Travelodge) and reasonable prices.

The food was very good. The lamb korma was awesome. It has a unique decor, very comfortable, with a window into the kitchen so you can watch the grilling. The service was very attentive. They were very helpful accommodating my wifes dietary needs.

Best Indian food , period. We have been to all the local places and get Indian food the world over. This place wins every time. Favorites, lamb korma, tiki marsala, Karachi chicken. Naan bread.

I have always loved this place, in part because it is under the TravelLodge. Who would have thought? It is low-key, and the food is good. Worth checking it out.
