Altogether excellent dining experience! My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful, flavorful, memorable evening at Bonefish Grill tonight for our anniversary dinner. Background: We chose Bonefish because I was given an Outback gift card for Christmas and they are owned by the same company. Neither my wife or I are really seafood people but we had never been to a Bonefish Grill and we wanted to try something new. We are so glad we did! The restaurant was rather full but we were seated immediately in a comfortable booth. Shortly thereafter we were greeted by our waiter, Jeff, who was very friendly and equally knowledgeable. He brought a large glass bottle of cold water, a warm loaf of bread served with a dipping sauce that was a blend of olive oil and fresh pesto. So very good! Since my wife and I are rather unfamiliar with seafood we asked for some background about Bonefish Grill and then for his recommendations. He took some time and explained the vision at Bonefish grill with an emphasis on dining satisfaction and equal emphasis in fresh. (fresh pesto, fresh seafood etc.) He then recommended the Bang Bang Shrimp, so we started with that. Best shrimp we have ever had! Flavorful, plump shrimp and the sauce was delicious. It was very lightly fried and had a sauce zing reminiscent of a fried tempura roll with a touch of spice. For our main course, Jeff recommended two types of fish, swordfish, which was in season and the sea bass which was one of the most popular items on the menu. We ordered both and shared them. Since we were unsure about the sauces Jeff brought us each five small bowls so we could try each. We each tried both fish with every sauce. These entrees proved to be a savory adventure in every bite! Neither were fishy in smell or flavor. The swordfish was more like a steak in texture, whereas the sea bass was thick, soft moist and flaky. Both excellent in their own right and a nice introduction to the complexity and texture of the seafood world. We finished our meal with the chocolate creme brulee. It proved absolutely decadent. A perfect finish to a perfect meal. If you are looking for a nice meal with your spouse, wanting to try seafood that will make you reconsider steakhouses as your first choice, or if you have an Outback gift card that is seeking a new adventure... Try Bonefish Grill, you will be so glad you did.

TAKE CUSTOMER RECEIPT WITH YOU AND CHECK YOUR BANK ACCOUNTS! I received an email from my credit card company a few days after I ate at Bonefish. It stated that they had noticed I left an unusually high tip amount. $22 on a $60 charge. I remember specifically thinking out loud to my boyfriend "20% of 60 is $12" and signing my check. I never take receipts from restaurants with me. After speaking to a manager there he emailed a copy of my receipt showing a $22 tip, no total on the total line and a signature that was not mine. The manager stated they were taking this very seriously and would conduct an investigation. A few days later I get a call from a random bonefish employee stating he was going to refund $10. I asked what the investigation concluded and he said he "had no idea" he was just the guy who gave the refunds and then asked if maybe I split the check and that was the mistake! I doubt I will hear back from the actual manager. Nathan C was the server. I never write reviews but hopefully this one saves others from being robbed from this man. I will never dine here again aside from the fact that the food was comparable to Red Lobster.

Family and I went for lunch today and had an absolutly horrible experience. The crab, artichoke, and spinach dip had obviously been cooked previously and then reheated. It was burnt to the point of being charred (even the chips were burnt), but watery, flavorless, and the seafood chewy. For $15 I was expecting something fresh and gooey with cheese. My side salad (which was a $2 up charge) seemed to be frozen, the lettuce was brown and gooey and consisted most of bitter white ribs. My husbands fish and chips was awful, the oil was either old or not hot enough and it left the fish too greasy to handle and the breading gooey on the underside. My son and I spilt the salmon which was cooked well. My side dish was the macaroni and cheese, which Im convinced they went out of their way to remove all flavor. Service was decent, but became non existent after we sent my husbands meal back (we were polite and offered to pay for the fries my husband ate al a carte). The corn chowder was great (but something I would expect at Panera) as well as the bread.

Friday, March 10, 2017 It was our first time at Bonefish and we werent disappointed. We ordered the Bang Bang shrimp, Crab cakes, and the bacon wrapped scallops for apps and it was all delicious. The menu is extensive and our server, Joanna was fantastic, and very knowledgeable regarding drinks and specials. We had five people in our party and 4 of them ordered the 2 person special. Scallops and Cobia, and I had the Mediterranean Sea bass. It was all cooked perfectly and delicious. That being said, I have two small disappointments. Our entrees where not all served at the same time, 4 of us received ours and approximately 2 minutes later the fifth entree was brought out. Unfortunately our food was LUKE WARM at best. The only things that were piping hot were the sauteed spinach side and the au gratin potato side. We will return, but I hope our food being on the chilly side was just a fluke.

Had reservations for Saturday night with our son and daughter-in-law. We were seated timely and ordered drinks and an appetizer. We had eaten about half our appetizer when our salads arrived. So we hurried and finished our appetizers. We had about 3 bites of salad when our entrees arrived. We asked that they be taken back and kept warm and were told they could not do that. Almost could not fit all the plates on the table. By the time we got to our food, it was room temperature. Our initial wait staffer was no where to be found. This is a real problem with restaurants that have food runners. Additionally, the ladies room had no paper towels for drying hands and one of the stalls was broken. I informed the hostess and got an eye roll and told she was "trying". We love Bonefish Grill in Florida, but I do not think we will go back to the Bonefish Grill in St Louis - GBartels

tldr(long story short): Good food, warm staff, but long waits at times. I have been a bonefish grill faithful member for about 2 years now. The service at the tables and bars has been great. I would definitely recommend reserving a table beforehand as the bar seating and middle tables fill up fast. I called in and was told there was open seating but the reservation counter attendant did not let me know that there were no open seats. I actually would have made the reservation but she implied there were spaces at the bar. I ended up trying to get take out but there was a problem with their computers and payment so I waited about 25 minutes to get the food. The bang bang shrimp takeout isnt the same as the sit down plate btw, the latter is better. Still a regular, but definitely would make a reservation in the future.
