Well, Im going to start this review off by saying I hope this place doesnt make me sick or causes me to have an allergic reaction! On my last piece of "VEGETABLE SUSHI" I noticed it taste fishy, after spitting it out, I noticed that it looks like the piece was made, something was taken out then the roll was "put back together" Really??? If you got an order for vegetable sushi and didnt have one "already made" why would you take a piece of fish (or whatever the heck it may have been) out and leave me with "just veggies" I shouldve known what was going on by the small rolls that were present! This is misleading and a horrible way of doing business! I have an ALLERGY TO SHELLFISH and Im a vegetarian so this is not OK with me!!! If this wasnt delivery, Id be getting my money back !! I may still be calling management about this! Never trusting or doing business with this restaurant ever again! Update....fast forward to an hour later, I started feeling itchy on my face and hairline so I know theres some kind of allergic reaction coming on! I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager (a rude, interrupting Asian lady) and she was so unprofessional and argumentative! She literally told me that theres NO WAY that fish or seafood made its way into (or out of) the roll... after arguing with her and attempting to get my money back, she told me to either bring in the roll (ummm, I ate it, lady!!) or go to the hospital but she wouldnt refund my little $7.33 food that MADE ME SICK! She was horrible to talk to and must think Im just some dumb American wanting to complain to get my money back!! Ive eaten here before and have happily paid for it and this is also why I know that this product was not right! For this "manager" to argue with me after Im telling her that Im not a satisfied customer and now am feeling sick, because of her product is just ridiculous!! Ive looked for any numbers to reach out to anyone in corporate or ANYONE and there isnt such thing! This store has lost the business of me and my entire office!
I went to Oriental House on my lunch break one day last week and got the teriyaki chicken, fried rice and an egg roll. When I got back to work, I realized that they hadnt given me my egg roll. By that time it was too late for me to call them or go back because I had to go back to work. Im the mother of a three month old baby and a special needs child so I definitely have enough on my mind to have remembered when I got home. I called them back to order more food the next week (today) and when speaking to the young man I mentioned that they forgot to give me my egg roll the last time. He stated he couldnt find in the computer where I had called back and he had to speak to his manager about it. I told him I had to go back to work because I was on my lunch break and not to worry about it because I didnt want to hold for a manager. Before I could finish getting the words out of my mouth he had thrown the phone down and started telling his manager, "this person is saying we didnt give them an egg roll, I dont know if shes lying and wants a free egg roll or what." Are you kidding me?? Free? First of all I paid for that egg roll when I bought $11 worth of food from you people! Its not a big deal but the principle of the matter. If I order something that comes with specific items, I want all of my items! Then the manager gets on the phone and says, "because you didnt call in, I cant give you an egg roll." I cant believe the customer service or lack there if I received from these people over an egg roll. Oriental House, this is how you treat your customers? I will never patronize this place again. ORIENTAL HOUSE YOU GUYS SUCK!!
Beware - if you order for delivery, ask for the prices of each item youre ordering, because I was just told by management that they have a separate menu with different prices for delivery - and this is in addition to the $2.50 delivery charge. After ordering from the Oriental House for the first time, I realized I was charged $3 more on the hibachi filet & shrimp than their website stated, but I brushed it off. The second time (today), I realized I had been charged more on a different food item (the Garlington roll) than the price listed on their site. It was only a dollar, but since it had happened twice, I called based primarily on principle. Management was rude and uncaring, very nonchalant about it, then proceeded to tell me they have different prices for delivery orders. I informed her that was not stated anywhere on their website, and again, she seemed uninterested in my concern. On top of the hidden price hike when ordering delivery and undesirable customer service on that issue, two co-workers and I ordered for delivery to our office today and our food took over an hour and a half to arrive - we were quoted 45 minutes, then after a phone call, 10-15 more mins., which turned into another 15-20 mins. The food is decent, but not particularly better than any other chinese restaurant in the area and definitely not worth the headache, poor customer service, and shady business practices.
I will give it a NO STAR.... but I had to put one to publish...Our office orders from them EVERY WEEK and it is always something!!! I ordered a custom VEGGIE sushi.... cucumber, carrot, and cream cheese... and when it came there were BITS OF CRAB IN THE CREAM CHEESE, what part of CRAB is VEGGIE?? if I wanted CRAB I would have ordered the Philly roll. I also ordered the Mongolian beef with NO JUICE, as the juice to me is greasy.... and what do you know, it was FULL OF JUICE. Our co-worker called the order in and I actually listened to her read my order out word for word and it was still wrong. When I called to complain to CARRIE, she "SWORE TO THE GODS" that the order was not placed as I heard it be placed. Then was all huffy to have to bring out the "correct" food... and IT STILL WAS NOT CORRECT... Getting my money back and from now on I will drive to Augusta Road.... Also while waiting for her to pick up, (I am guessing he forgot to put me on hold) I heard her having to send out another order because it was incorrect... I think she did not attend the class THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT!!!
Will never order from this place again. Called for delivery Saturday night, was close to closing time but they said, no problem, will deliver. Ordered two fried rice plates for my girlfriend and I, and unfortunately, when delivered, I paid the bill plus give a good tip but didnt check the bag. Opened and was only one plate of food. No problem I figured, we will share the one and they will make it right when they open again. Nope. Had to talk to a female manager (probably the one thats got all the complaints here on the reviews) and she informed my girlfriend, that we ordered something completely different than what we ordered, and since we ate the one plate, there was nothing she could do. Wow! We was not asking for a free meal, only to get the meal we paid for. I guess the manager is losing one customer at a time at this place. Oriental House, yes, you do indeed suck. Sucks I even have to give one star but its required.
