Delicious. Very tasty food, for reasonable prices. Not much for atmosphere, but the food is great, especially if one steers clear of the buffet. Nothing wrong with it, it just seems to me that the food tends to taste a little better if made to order. Could be just me, but that has been a consistent perception. Regardless, Sum Yan is worth a stop.

Gf used to be the cook at Mama Lindas right behind this place and this is the #1 spot for chinese food in town. Tried them all and was never happy with any other place. Sum Yan really knows how to make good food like Americans like it. High quality ingredients and they dont skimp on portions. Make tbis your first Choice, you wont be sorry!!

We came in for the buffet and it was rather disappointing in the selection. There was no real selection, the Kung po chicken was bland. The staff was friendly and it was a clean and comfortable place though. Next time we will just order from the menu because everyone seems to rave about it.

The interior looks to have been updated since someone left a bad review on it. The food was delicious and the place was very clean. The waitress was attentive and kind, very personable. The food is cooked fresh when you order it so expect the cook time wait, totally worth it.

They have a few dishes that I keep coming back for, and havent tried anything else because I always have to have those. Their lunch buffet has all my favs and reasonably priced, even to go. Nice servers.

Little gem that is oft overlooked. The proprietors are super nice folks and always serve with a smile. The food is very good and quite consistent. Best Egg Foo Young in 50 mile radius.

My hubby and I really love the Chicken Chow Mein with Sorghum noodles or rice instead also. Very white meat, tender. And we ask for no or little salt to help with a heart healthy diet.
