Mixed At Best. First, the good: The staff was friendly, attentive and, when we learned that our wait would be over an hour, they made sure to bring out free Bang Bang Shrimp and Calamari. I really like the waitstaff and other workers, and its obvious they are eager to please. Yes, they are always smiling, always willing to answer your questions and are attentive to your needs. The fresh bread is crispy and chewy like a good bread should be, and they arent cheap with the lemons or limes for your drinks. Now, the bad: The food is the weakest part of the experience. Yes, the Bang Bang Shrimp is amazing, but the Softshell Crab special was greasy and the Caesar Salad was absolutely tasteless. The restaurant is unnecessarily dark, and the overhead speaker system calling out names of those whose tables have become available is jarring for those trying to have a conversation. The main dining area is a bit cramped, but thats to be expected for a place thats in demand. I didnt dislike the atmosphere, but I wasnt thrilled with it, either. The Odd: This particular branch of BFG draws an unsual crowd--think an older, wealthier Jersey Shore crowd. One wonders if the local plastic surgeons are giving away "buy two boobs, get one meal free" coupons with the 50- and 60-something Sillicone Barbies on display. The guys? A mixture of guidos and Baby Boomer Bikers recapturing lost youth. Worth a chuckle if youre into watching silly people. This is the third time Ive been to this restaurant in the last few years, and its been pretty consistent both in terms of food and clientele. If I go back again, I think Ill stick to appetizers.

My husband and I have eaten at the Bonefish on Route 22 (Greenbrook?) and its usually quite crowded but good. We recently tried the one in E. Brunswick and were disappointed. First, we requested a booth (at 5:30 pm) and were told booths were only for parties of 4 or more. It wasnt at all crowded, but we were told they had many reservations for groups coming in shortly after. About 20 minutes after we were seated at a table that was about one foot away from two other tables, a couple (2 people) were seated at the booth behind us. The music that was playing throughout the restaurant was loud and annoying (light rock). Food was ok, but by then we were annoyed about the table and the music. When we left, three booths were still empty and the restaurant was not crowded. Turned us off enough, dont even feel like returning to the one on Rte. 22 for a while.

Big Thank You to Rebecca bartender at Bonefish East Brunswick for personally taking care of my husbands food order last Saturday evening. As they had run out of his favorite Tuna dish Rebecca personally substituted and cooked him another tuna dish at no charge. We look forward to dining & cocktails at Bonefish Grill & Rebecca with her wonderful customer service once again!!

Been coming here for about 5 years now maybe more. Staff is friendly, food is good and drinks are great. I dont think I ever had a problem here. You always feel welcomed there. Simple and low price point dinners available here. Oh and they have bang bang Wednesdays where you get it for $5 so me and my friends go here often on wednesdays.

Foods pricey but good, portions are a little below expectation. Seating for small tables is terrible, very cramped. The waitress squeezed between us and the table next to us to take orders. Half the time her behind was in our faces, huge turn off.

The food was good...nice place to eat without the kids...a step above a chilis Applebees. Although the place was not terribly crowded had to wait a long time to get a bartender to cash out bar tab before being seated at our dinner table

Greg our waiter was excellent. Fontina Chop was excellent. Au graten potatos awesome. Lobster stuffed shrimp is a killer appetizer. I dont eat at chain restaurants really ever. But this was an excellent experience at this location.

Its a nice cozy place with great seafood and meat selection. My favorite is chealean seabass, you can pick your own sausage and side dish as well. Try their raspberry ice tea, it tastes so good.
